Firstly I did not stay here. I tried to, but the people running the place had different ideas. I made a non-refundable, pay-at-property reservation through Booking.com. I’d driven over 400 miles en route to staying here so imagine my surprise when I arrived to be told they were full (actually one room that they were holding for someone else)! They wouldn’t honour my confirmed reservation. They said they couldn’t see Booking.com reservations as they didn’t have a computer, and that they shouldn’t be on Booking.com anyway. I had to drive around town late evening looking for a walk-in and ended up paying $70 more. I’ve complained to Booking.com but will be looking to make sure the motel doesn’t charge my credit card. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere.

Avoid at all costs. Possible scam of reserving through Booking.

My 1st review isn't on here so I am writing another.   Booked this motel when visiting Jackson in April 202 I asked to see the room 1st because of the filthy entrance to check in.  FILTHY, OLD FURNISHINGS & REPAIRS DESPERATELY NEEDED. TV WIRES HANGING & TV NOT WORKING. BED MATTRESS OLD & BED FRAM CREAKY.  I am originally from Jackson & this motel is an embarrassment!  Close it down or fix it up to be acceptable.  Someone should check every room!

Horrible!

If you are coming here you need to keep in mind it’s a MOTEL it’s not a Hilton, the rooms are ok, not fantastic but ok, the beds are decent, but if you are 6ft or taller then find somewhere else to stay, im a tall fella and I had to end up sleeping diagonally. The outside is cute and there is a gas station extremely close and very convenient, along with the extensive amount of parking. Bottom line is, it’s a motel, it’s a cozy place to sleep just for a night. Not a vacation spot.

Pretty ok

My fiancé and I had been looking for hotels all day. we then looked up hotels in Jackson MN. That’s when we decided to stop for 1 night because we had been driving all day back from South Dakota Rapid City to go home and we saw this place called Earth Inn. The prices are very reasonable And the young gentleman very friendly and inviting. The rooms were spectacular very clean and very well taken care of. The beds were really comfortable and the room is very old style feeling with the wood floors I love it especially the fire place. I would come back most bang for my buck !! Love that is pet friendly most places are not so that was a big plus for us.

My stay at Earth Inn Jackson Minnesota

This used to be one of our favorites - cute and quirky but it has really gone down hill. Refused the first room because there was a droopy sheet across the window - no curtain or rod. Light fixtures missing light bulbs, broken blinds. No A/C. Staff was as helpful as she could be but didn't have much to work with. Just sad. On the plus side, good hot water and big parking lot. Dairy Queen and gas station next door and easy access to I90.



So disappointing 

Didn't know what to expect ............... Surprise 😲  definitely a hidden gem.  Felt like i was staying at a friends house for the weekend, Personnel fit  in to the funky nature of the place not bad as they are very accommodating minor check-in  problem but overall a great place to stay One problem is it is hard to see from the hwy, as it is behind a restaurant

What a cool and unique hotel! This is a high quality, budget hotel, with true style. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We loved the creative designs and decor throughout the halls, room, and exterior. The value here is unmatched. Late check-in was easy and convenient. We couldn't be happier with our stay!

We booked a room here months in advance and drove all day to get here (with our baby) only to find that there was no vacancy. Wow. Seriously, don’t stay here unless you enjoy that uncertainty that comes with not knowing if your reservation will be honored.

The staff were friendly and helpful.  The decorating was original and artful.  Because the rooms are mostly underground there's little road noise.  The bathrooms were clean and the shower had euro-style dispensers of liquid soap and shampoo. It felt there was radiant heat in the floors.  If you love Clean, Quiet and Frugal, this place is for you!

Great value for a clean, quiet place to stay

I love unique and eclectic places and have always loved underground homes. From the reviews I'd read this place seemed to fit the bill and I was really looking forward to the stay, especially at what I thought was a reasonable $50/night.  When we arrived, there was no one in the lobby to greet us and a sign told us to call a phone number if we needed to check in. After returning to our car to get our phones, a flustered lady appeared with a phone to her ear which she did not hang up. We felt as though we were interrupting her call. She seemed irritated when she couldn't find the reservation we'd made a week or so earlier and seemed a bit put out when she told her caller that she'd have to call back because she needed to find us a room. She told the caller she loved them, so it appeared to be a personal call rather than professional. The only hallway to the rooms was dimly lit, rather eerie and it was difficult to see the door knob until our eyes adjusted.  Entering the room, we had mixed emotions. It appeared that the owners had put in some work trying to incorporate some modern artistic paint elements, but it sort of clashed with the woodsy themed wallpaper border.  As we walked into the room, both of us looked at each other as the laminate flooring was extremely soft and we wondered if we weren't going to go right through it. The room, like the hallway, was also dark. If I recall correctly we got one light between the beds to work, but the main light in the room, had a cord that was not plugged in and stopped several inches shy of the outlet, so there was no way to turn it on. There was also no heater in the room. They had a tall stand alone heater, but after trying every possible setting, we could only get it to blow cold air. Our reservation had also said we were getting two queen beds, but our room had two full beds. My husband is a large man and we share a queen bed at home. We were unable to fit together in one of these beds and ultimately had to sleep separately that night. There were only 2 tissues left in the box and no backup provided. The shampoo dispenser was located very high on the wall above the shower. Only being 5' and having had shoulder surgery, it was a stretch for me to reach. When we exited the far end of the building, it was wet and appeared there was water seepage into the area. The final issue was the sheer number of signs all over the room: how to operate window blinds, door knobs that lock behind you, hot water, no cooking, only being allowed to use paper plates, and instructions to not put tissues in the peep hole because they weren't watching you, etc etc etc... They also had rags labeled to be used for cleaning your dishes, shoes, baby bottoms or removing makeup. Like I want to remove my makeup with a straggly rag that last cleaned a baby's bottom??  The area surrounding the motel also appeared quite depressed. Although my hubby said he got a good night sleep here, sadly we would look elsewhere if in the area again. .
