If I hadn't already paid for my stay, I would have turned around the moment that I saw that the elevator's floor numbers were written with a Sharpie.  So are some room numbers.

Cons:  The toilet roll holder is missing half its parts.  I am typing this sitting right next to the door because it's the only place the wireless works.  The bathtub is.. gray.  Little water pressure.  The hallway smells of maybe vinegar and B/O.   No "do not disturb" sign.  (Some rooms have them!)  Walls marked up like they were last cleaned or painted during the Reagan Administration.  Window doesn't open.  One working light blub.

Pros:  Fridge, A/C work, as does the toilet if you remember where you put the paper.

I am sorry, fellow Trip Advisors, for not reading you first.

Laughably awful

One bed was made sloppily and the other bed was a mattress w/cover and  all the bedding on the floor in the corner. Towels were hanging behind the door. Not rolled up or folded and placed somewhere. A few new toiletries laying on the counter of bathroom sink. No cups or coffee or tea or anything next to the coffee maker. The table was sticky. There's an iron and no ironing board. No toilet paper holder for the rolls.  I was really grossed out by this room. The photos online looked nice and decent but in person it was a different story. You do smell pot in the hallway. There was a towel hanging on a sprinkler head in hallway and someone sitting on the floor in the hallway. It boasts of a continental breakfast and had only watered down apple juice and very watered down orange juice. No cups. The coffee makers had coffee but that's it. No food of any kind. Just what's in the snack machine. The guy said they're trying to get approval for food. If you just want to save money. This will do. My husband asked the man at the front desk for clean towels and he said they were out of towels!!

Terrible!

Run away from this dump.  I booked it on a non-refundable hotwire “mystery hotel” deals where you see the raye, but don’t know the hotel until you’re locked in.  So a hearty “up yours” to the hotwire folks for screwing me over on this booking.

Worst hotel ever.  Lobby reeks of weed & B/O.  Hallways similar.
Room had no waste basket, and only one bath towel for a room reserved for two people.  When we went to the front desk to resolve this, we got a plastic trash bag and a small hand towel.  We were told they were out of towels because the hotel is so full, seriously, and he said it with a straight face.  Shower nearly non-functional (I’ll upload a video if possible).  Air conditioning sounds like a turboprop engine, and hotel is surrounded by spotlights that shine into the room at night. 

If “I don’t give a f@&k” had a physical form, this hotel would be it.  Wish I could leave negative stars.

Worse than Room 1408 from that John Cusack movie.

Though the staff at the front desk was polite, this was the most disgusting, unsafe, and sketchiest place I’ve been. I’ve never left a bad review before, but this was extraordinarily bad. It’s a zero if that was an option.

Horrendous

This hotel was the worst. I initially reserved it for the price and the pictures on the website. I reserved a king bed that also had a chair. When I arrived, they did not have the room that I originally reserved. They offered me a double bed room. I asked if it was equipped with a chair for my son to transfer into from his wheelchair. They informed me that none of the rooms had chairs but provided us with an office chair. The room had an old broken air conditioner, empty Kleenex box, dirty hair dryer and just overall dirty place. 3 times while my vulnerable adult son and I was in the room, maintenance and housekeeping tried to enter the room with a key, it was a good thing that I had my sons chair against the door otherwise they would have entered while we were still in the room. The first time they tried was within 30 minutes of us getting settled in the room, then 2 hours later, the last time was 9am the next morning even though check out time was not until 11am. Never again, not only was it dirty but unsafe.

Horrible and dirty

As a former over the road truck driver and a current traveling big box store employee I have stayed at the Roseville Key Inn multiple times. With every visit the facilities, support staff and customer service have continued to impress me while helping me to feel like I have a calm and peaceful home away from home. This hotel is about 20 minutes drive from MSP airport depending on traffic, and it is in a first tier suburb so it is close enough to easily access the interstate but far enough from downtown that I do not have to budget for parking fees in addition to hotel expenditures. There are several stores and restaurants within walking distance. I have recommended the Key Inn to my friends and family and look forward to my next stay.

Cozy, professional hotel minutes away from St. Paul and Minneapolis

I was here for two nights.  It is very convenient to the India Palace right next door. I reserved through Hotels.com, but the clerk couldn't seem to find my reservation.  It took a long time for check in.
 I found some odd things in the room when I arrived.  One light was missing a bulb and another was missing a shade. There was no washcloth or bath mat.  I found it interesting that a room in a budget motel would have an in room safe.  The key was missing so it couldn't be used.  
Guests need to fill in a long form when arriving regarding proper conduct.  This  included  wearing shirts and pants in public areas.  This  made me wonder what kind of people were staying here. The form forbids dogs except service dogs.  I heard two dogs barking during the night.
When I returned on the second night, a bath mat and washcloth appeared.  
I asked the front desk clerk about directions to several places nearby, but the clerk didn't seem to know where they were or would not tell me.  He told me to look it up on my phone.  I didn't have a smarthphone;; that is why I was asking.

reasonably priced

Dirty. Gross. Shower so disgusting I passed on my morning shower. Sketchy clientele—homeless person living & yelling in parking lot. Customer service bad bad bad. Wouldn’t get off personal call to check me in. At check out I told them how horrible-she said I should’ve checked out if I didn’t like it. Only it was non refundable. Many better options within walking distance for not much more

Disgusting

We stayed at the Key Inn from 8/25 to 8/31. My fiancé and daughter arrived on an earlier flight than I so they did the initial check-in. The one housekeeper that knocked on our door was amazing. She asked if we needed anything and we needed towels as our room only had one upon check-in. She didn’t have as many towels on her cart as I requested so she promptly ran down stairs to the laundry room to retrieve more. Really wish I got her name so I could send her a personal thank you.

Sadly, that is the end of the good review. When I arrived the light over the sink and vanity was not working. Nothing big notified the desk the following day to have maintenance take a look at it. We left for the day and returned to a fixed light. I rather quickly discovered missing items from my toiletries bag. I am a diabetic on insulin pump therapy so I travel with needles and insulin just in case my pump fails. Whomever came in the room to fix the light opened a brand-new bag of insulin needles and helped themselves to about half of them. Luckily nothing happened with my pump and I didn’t need them to keep me alive.

We woke the following morning to the same light not working another light behind the tv also quit working. The refrigerator struggled to keep anything remotely cool. The shower struggled to produce enough water to even function let alone get much above 85 degrees. The elevator was constantly full of garbage and never swept or mopped. The halls were extremely dirty and the garbage cans were always over flowing with trash. And the halls constantly smelt of weed. The bed was breaking down and horrible uncomfortable. 

We left a day early just get out of the motel, we traveled 3 hours west to Fergus Falls just to get a decent night of sleep. I highly recommend that you do not stay here. Spend the little extra elsewhere for peace of mind and a goodnights sleep.
