Admittedly, my first thought was "this is my cell" but the small room had everything I needed. A well lit desk to do some reading, a comfortable bed for a great night's sleep, a hot shower with strong water pressure, and very nice employees. With directions stating the hotel was next door to Pershing Memorial Hospital, I learned General Pershing was born in the area - I always like to learn little history as I travel.

Great budget hotel

The check-in process was efficient.  Lady was very friendly.  Room was spacious, both the room & the bathroom were very clean.  Air conditioner worked very well - important because it was a hot day & evening.  Lots of hot water with good water pressure.  Quiet, too.  We’d definitely stay there again.

Good stay!

We stayed here recently and found it to be reasonably priced and clean. My husband booked on-line after reading the reviews.  Exactly the kind of place we would like to stay. Friendly check-in, clean though small room with vintage bathroom and hand towels folded creatively.   Our only regret is that we feel the double bed mattress needed to be replaced.  We like to sleep near each other but I couldn't help but roll to the center. If I didn't have a dodgy back, it may not have been a problem.  That aside, we walked through the town, sadly being abandoned, but found an ice cream stand. A deer park and a farm supply store, as well as the hospital within short walking distance. I believe Walmart was walkable too. $53 plus room tax. No breakfast included but that is fine by me.  We would stay here again.

Nice Budget Motel

The parking lot was dark and filled with 4 wheel drive pickup trucks.  Hunters in camo were gathered in the front parking lot.  Did I make a mistake in booking this motel that was highly rated by TripAdvisor?  The answer is no, but maybe other people (for example my wife) would not feel comfortable staying here.  The room was clean, and the place had everything I needed, including Wi-Fi.  The price was great at $50, and the room was small but quiet and comfortable.  If you are interested in value and want to stay in places you will remember, then this is the right place for you.  It felt like I had "stepped back in time" and had a very good experience.  This motel has 2 corridors - smoking and non-smoking.

Great value, and not boring.

Clean room.  Comfortable bed.  Questionable shower.  No tub.  Refrigerator and microwave included.  Subway sandwich shop and McDonald's within walking distance--so was a 24-hour hospital.  Local railroad personnel frequent this motel, so expect to see soiled men and barbecues in the parking lot.  An unexpected attraction was the motel's neighbor who apparently keeps two dozen deer in the yard for pets.  The deer (or their ancestors) have lived there for 30+ years.

More Than I Expected For The Price

I was driving to Hannibal, MO.  It was late, and I had a tire that kept losing air and had to stop here for the night.  It Looked old and dated from the outside, and there were hunters milling around the front so I had some trepidation. However, the room was very, very clean, very quiet, and actually no smoking smell.  Very good air quality.   Front desk was very nice and helpful. 
    I was taking a short tour of the Mississippi Valley and Gulf since I had never been in this part of the country before  Was going to Hannibal (Twain), Tupelo (Elvis), Mobile and NOLA. I’ve done a good amount of traveling in the western states where the cleanliness of the cheap motels is generally better.  It was a downer that several of the cheap motels in this area were very gross, and a few times I spent more at Best Western because I wanted to be able to take a shower without gagging.  After having stayed in a few cheap motels in the South, this place was a huge refreshing change.
     This was the cheapest one on my trip yet it was the cleanest.  It actually smelled like a non-smoking room.  The furniture and decor are a little dated but they really take the time to clean everything very well, not just surface clean.  I actually looked forward to taking a shower here. The cleanliness level is similar to a better-rated Crowne Plaza or Best Western.  It was quiet, I got a decent night’s sleep and got my tire fixed the next morning.  
     I highly recommend this motel (near Hannibal).

Very Clean and Inexpensive

For an older motel, this one's in pretty good shape.  Room was very small but it was all I needed traveling solo.  Tiny bathroom had antique fixtures & tile which I appreciated.  Comfortable bed & quiet area of little town.  Staff was friendly  & helpful, recommending local places to eat.  I would return if traveling in the area again.

Great Stay Here

We booked this because it was only 6 miles from Marceline the childhood home of Walt Disney   Beds were comfortable. They could stand to replace those flat pillows. Seemed clean but don't think it was really. The blinds were funky. Would not stay here again. Sorry.
