Quiet, comfortable, nice size room and more!
I was going to be late in arriving at my scheduled time; I called back and had a friend call the Inn..
She returned my call a few minutes later!  "You cannot believe how kind, helpful and caring these people are!"  
They had told her that if he comes in after ten, 10:00pm there is a black mail box with all he needs in there ... also number on door to call and we will be right in to let him into his room  and insure he is comfortable.  I had asked for a first floor room and that is where I was put in.....
I am 86 years old and a little crippled.....
You just couldn't go wrong staying here...and then, visit the Corn Palace for more fun.

My room was nicer than any I have stayed in at $100 or more a night!

Stayed here on a cross country trip with my dad. I ended up leaving an item at the inn when we left the following morning. We called a few days later when we realized it was gone and they had saved it and shipped it to me for free. Great customer service. Room was clean and tidy. Price was good as well as the military discount. Overall... A great little inn!

We were glad to see the corn palace in was open in the "off season"!  The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and quiet!  There was not much of a selection for the continental breakfast, but everything they had was fresh and good.

A Great Place to Stay while visiting the Corn Palace

The corn palace was a place to stop for a break from driving. It was impressive but not outstanding. The facility was clean and the people working were very nice. They had other information about the area.

Only thing in Mitchell

We liked the room and price, but we and some hunters were left to buy breakfast in a local restaurant, because no one showed up at the breakfast room we were told would be served.  We talked to another patron that said it was normal not to be able to count on breakfast.  We tried getting an answer on the phone by the office, no luck, so we went there and found a sing saying closed until 9:00 am, but it was still closed when we finally left at 11:00 leaving the key cards in the room.  The moral of the story......we still paid as much as other good hotels in the area by paying an extra $25 for a larger breakfast than we wanted.

My mom and i stayed here 8 1 20 rooms were clean but had a fly or two no biggie nice bed comfy great location alot of restaurants near by walmart up the road molly at the front desk was awesome and they have good rates def coming back nxt year

Good

This was a disappointing stay. We weren't expecting much, but were still very underwhelmed. When we got to our room, we discovered that the 3 queen beds was actually 2 queen beds and a double sofa bed. There was no hand soap, so we had to go back to the office to get that. Our sink wouldn't drain, so we also had to get maintenance to come and fix that.

By far the worst part, though, was the lack of breakfast. Their website clearly advertises free continental breakfast. And, the office clearly has a breakfast location, with seating, fridge, toaster, and other breakfast things. But when we headed over to the office in the morning, nothing was out. We asked when breakfast would be, and were just told that there was no breakfast. The alternatives we were offered were some coffee and a 10% off coupon to a nearby Perkins.

One of the primary things we were looking for when booking was a hotel with breakfast, so to have it just not be there was extremely frustrating, and completely ruined our morning plans.

No breakfast

It was definitely a cultural experience. The corn Palace Inn is dated but that adds to the nostalgia. Since the choices are limited, they have job security. It is noisy and jumping with life. It is definitely not the JW Marriott but it serves the purpose.

tourist trap

Stopped one night here with family of 5 during a 7 night road trip. Arrived around 8:30 at night and front desk staff had sign out saying they would be back in 15 minutes. Staff checked us in after we drove by the Corn Palace while waiting. Room adequate, outside of hotel needs significant upkeep. Breakfast was to be at 7 am and by 7:15 still hadn't opened, so we diverted to nearby Perkins. Multiple people sitting in folding chairs outside hotel rooms, smoking and swearing made it less than family friendly. Truthfully while it was ok for a bed for a night I would not stay here again nor recommend it to others.

Family road trip stop

Do not ever stay at the Corn Palace Inn in Mitchell SD. Travelpass booked it for us. We asked them for the Comfort Inn and they booked us into this place. The room was so bad and smelled so bad we couldn't even stay the night and they refused to give us our money back. There were people sitting outside the rooms smoking cigarettes and looking pretty shady. It was the worst hotel we have ever been to. We wound up going down the road to the Holiday Inn express and got the last room there costing us an additional $245. 

Travelpass is not a site I would ever use again.
