Comfortable, clean condo, we stayed in Snipe #7. Well stocked kitchen, toiletries provided and very dog which we loved since we had our 2 dogs with us. Beach is a very short walk, clean and not crowded on a nice August weekend. Employee who checked us in was pleasant. 
While the condo & area was nice, I cannot recommend this property due to management. They are dishonest & unprofessional. I booked the condo through Booking.com with a prepaid rate that included nightly rate, tax, cleaning fee & service fee. Listing said “Dog Friendly with no additional fees”. I was overcharged $120, then another $94. They sent conflicting property rules, saying No dogs were allowed, bringing a dog would result in a $500 fine and eviction. Being confused by all this I contacted 
management at Hi-Tide by phone and email I had a terrible experience. Simon Berman and Laurie McPherson were very unprofessional, rude & unhelpful. Laurie actually hung up on me twice. I’ve never had someone in hospitality do that before, unbelievable especially since I was being polite. While they said the info was a mistake, they refused to refund a portion of the overcharges. They took an electronic signature from the original agreement and used it on 2 other forms I didn’t actually see or agree to. Due to all this I unfortunately have to recommend against this property. It is not worth the  stress of dealing with the management especially since it is not an inexpensive place. Booking.com attempted to work with the property but after having the same experience I did, they took care of me and provided the credit. That is good customer service! Unless you can rent directly from one of the condo owners avoid staying here.

Who ever has purchased the resort has corporatized what used to be flexible home town and friendly. Now it’s like dealing with a vending machine. Due to the ferry schedule we arrived 2 o’clock God forbid right. Pouring down rain sideways trapped in the car no one will be in the office until FOUR PM! Got it? Good. We will now leave our traditional clamming spot behind and seek a dog friendly house to rent when we come to moclips for our traditional visits!

Used to be Awesome.

I left my jewelry box on accident and called as soon as we got home and I noticed a few hours later. The lady was very rude and dismissive. It was two pairs of gold diamond earring in a box on the bathroom counter next to all of the supplies they refill for the guests there is no way it wasn’t found by the house keeper. She said I don’t need to ask to house keeper because it wasn’t turned in even though I was in tears begging her to look or ask. It’s unexceptionable they just let the house keepers keep whatever they want. It was a very expensive anniversary gift from my husband and they didn’t even pretend to care. I pray no else has a human error and forgets anything at this hotel. Check in was super strange as well, I was told I was 5 min early to check in and my husband was asked what he was doing there while he was parked in the car outside waiting for me to check in. Skip this place if all possible. Owners don’t care about their guests.

Make sure not to forget anything

They have units at 2 different locations, which are fairly far apart. It's hard to tell from their website which location any given unit is at, since they list both locations for the units. 

The Moclips, WA used to be a great little beachfront motel and very affordable. Now they have misc. add on fees which significantly increase the cost. Sort of like airbnb. Plus a 2 day minimum.

The general area is beautiful, but we've had negative experiences at several other lodgings in the area. At this point we're just writing off this area for the future.

Website confusing

I love the Hi Tide for several reasons.  First it sits where the River and the Ocean meets.  You can walk down the side of the river and see Bald Eagles and lots of agates and rock hunting.  Then walk over to the beach and walk beach and enjoy the waves.  The room (we stay in Unit 12) was very comfortable, this is a two bed unit and both rooms are nice sized.  Living room and one bedroom have view of the ocean.  It's decorated nicely and everything is very comfortable.  Would stay in this unit again for sure.   The front desk guy is really nice and the grounds are kept up and clean.   Great place we will stay again!

2nd time here.... Great stay in Moclips

We've  been here many times because our dog loves it. Sound like a foolish reason to like a resort? The rooms are comfortable and well cared for. You'd  never know that dogs are frequent visitors.  The ocean is on one side of the resort and the Moclips river is right behind. The grounds have groomed trails both to the  beach and to the river. We love the beach but our Labrador loves the river. Toss her ball into the river  (it's a small tidal river, not too wide) and she will fetch and swim, return the ball to fetch and swim again and again. As soon as she sees the river we unclip her leash and let her go.  Her joy is like watching your child visit Disneyland for the first time. 
This visit we stayed in room #37. This room has got a panoramic  view of the ocean and river. Wow! This unit was roomy. The living area has 3 recliners and a large sofa. The bedroom has a sliding glass door to the wrap around deck. And the bathroom includes a sauna. My husband loved it.

Our favorite dog friendly resort

I have searched up and down the Oregon Coast for the best places to stay that are dog friendly.  Hi tide is in the top 2 of my list.  We have stayed in 14 and 10 have have loved both units.  I find the management to be very helpful and the maintenance people to be cordial and helpful.  This is a pet friendly place with dog washing stations and plenty of towels to dry the pups after a long 3 hours on the beach.   You can walk for miles on this beach.   No cars are really able to go in front of this condo as the area in front of the condos is too soft for cars (Plus they are prohibited from the start of April through Labor Day anyway on this stretch of the beach).  Eagles nest in the trees right next to the condo complex on the river and we have seen deer frolicking in the sand dunes.  We have always had good internet and plenty of channels to watch on the TV.  The fireplaces are for Duraflame logs only, but they will provide one everyday with the newspaper and they do have more in the office if needed.  Relax on the nice balcony with a glass of wine.   
Overall, I highly recommend this place for your beach vacation!

Great Vacation spot in Moclips, WA

We're a family of six who spent two nights during the Easter long weekend. At first site (and sniff), we were utterly disgusted from our room (#12 in building C). This condo has not been cleaned prior to our arrival judging by the crumbs on the carpet, floor and dining chairs, the dirty coffee pot, the dirty peeler in the drawer and the hairs on the sofa. Even after the cleaner was called to "finish up" the state was not any better.
In general, the condo looks like it hasn't been updated since it was built 40 years ago. The shower, including shower head (see image), curtain and general cleanliness, were nauseating to operate. The kitchen cabinets are sticky and greasy. We hated every minute here and were utterly disgusted to live in this condo. Possibly, other units are better designed, cleaned and maintained but this one should be avoided until some serious changes are made.

Dirty and poorly maintained

Our first time at the Hi-Tide was the weekend of December 7th-9th for razor clam digging.  Our daughter and son-in-law also stayed and we all loved it!  Our room could not have been more warm and inviting!  We enjoyed exploring the beach and then coming back to enjoy a cozy fire.  The location is beautiful and much less populated than Ocean Shores to the south.  The staff were so friendly and helpful and the rooms are well appointed and clean.  We are returning in February for the next Razor Clam dig!  Look forward to many more returns to this lovely place.
P.S. Super dog friendly!  There is a "Dog Station" with clean towels for your furry kids!

Beautiful Gem!

My boyfriend surprise me with a weekend trip to the ocean in the middle of winter. I saw nothing appealing about this idea. It turned out to be the funnest trip we have had in years. The location is beautiful, the hotel room was immaculate, and John and his staff were amazing. Thank you!
