Great historic place to stay and soak in. The hot springs are wonderful. The staff is friendly. You go back in time a little here.  You have options on rooms a.s cabins to stay in. It is not to far away from Plains MT. 

Quiet and relaxing

Symes Hot Springs Hotel is a fun and somewhat funky place to stay. It has the feel of an old-time mineral bath hotel (not unusual because that is what it is!) The sulfur pools are terrific and you do, in fact, ‘limp in and leap out’ as their ads say. The rooms within the hotel were clean and comfortable. We also stayed in a newly redone cabin, but frankly, we enjoyed the rooms within the hotel more. The breakfasts were good and the staff, Dee, Shane, John, & Dee’s little dog Pistol could not be nicer. We read some nasty reviews before we stayed at Symes and thought they were plumb wrong. Staying here is a unique experience and hurry to enjoy before some outfit with megabucks destroys its charm.

Great visit to Symes Hot Springs Hotel

One of the most relaxing trips I’ve taken.  The hotel is so laid back but the staff are very accommodating.  Bathrobe, you bet, special latte, you bet!  The food is good too.  But the hot mineral water pools are the best.  The hotel is within walking distance to the extremely friendly and quirky town  of Hot Springs.  

A most amazing spa experience

My wife and I stayed at this hotel and loved it's rustic charm. We enjoyed the hot springs and would highly recommend them. There was a draft in the room, suddenly in the middle of the night, which was then followed by a faint whispering that sent chills down our spines. I'm sure it was just the hotel settling, or maybe it was the sudden snow storm, which would also explain the flickering lights. What I can't explain is how sharply dressed the staff seemed to be in the middle of the night. The gentlemen we found walking the hallways was wearing a perfect costume from what had to be the 1800's and he even managed to the accent down. If you have the chance you should stay at Symes Hotel.

DEFINITELY NOT HAUNTED

We rented the three bedroom house.  It smelled like a greasy burger but otherwise it was very clean and roomy.  The pools were wonderful -  92, 105, 102 and 111 degrees.  We ate breakfast twice and the food was  very good - Sunday was scratch made eggs Benedict.  The chef came out both days to ensure everything was right - I like that pride and attention to detail.  The hotel is rustic, but that's the charm of Got Springs.

Great visit!

I loved the historic hotel although it was a bit run down. Some people wouldn't like the sulfur odor throughout the building. The pool was plenty warm, just right for me. There was a large cooler pool too, but it was too chilly for me since the outdoor temperatures were 15 to 20 degrees F. So everyone was crowded into the small pool and the water got kind of foul. My solution was to be there when they first opened each morning, after the pool flushed itself out at night. The hotel restaurant was open for some meals - I had breakfast there once and it was good. There is a health food store a block away with great soups, sandwiches, and pastries. Other patrons seemed to think the mineral content of the water at this particular hot springs was exceptional.

Loved,LOVED the pools! so relaxing and the staff was AMAZING! My only conplaint would be the obnoxious man dressed in 18th century garb who padded about in the hallways. I don't know if that's a gimick or part of the "charm" but it got old, if you know what I mean!
Anyway, the live songs were great and the old world charm was amazing! would totally recommend!! But I would ask the owner to pay the antique man a little better as his whole shitck was missing a drowned daughter and an unfaithfulwife that drove him to suicide....I mean, come on.
Overall, amazing experience!!

great place!!

We have been visiting The Symes for 15 years and it has enriched our lives. The combination of the best water and the kindness of the owner and her staff bring joy. Local history and arty decor in a historic location enhance the experience. I am thankful we followed our instincts and took the road less traveled as it has made alot of difference in our lives.

The Symes Hotel and Hotsprings is like a good friend

The people, on phone, at desk, cooking, serving food, were all very nice.  The place has history! Its worn in.  the rooms were clean. I saw 2.5 star for cleanliness. Some people just cant see the forest through the trees.  What a cool building, what a cool atmosphere. live music, good food, so it isn't white glove ready but imagine if it were. I truly hope someone notices and falls in love and this doesn't just go away because that would  be heart breaking

What a cool place!

We travelled with a group of 15. We had 5 rooms total. This hotel is old and outdated, but was clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The locals were fun and easy going. We actually loved the quirkiness of this place. And the water was AMAZING!! Some of the best, healing waters in the country. I cannot believe how good my skin and hair felt after soaking.  Live music every weekend. Def worth the price. If you are not expecting a high end hotel, you will be just fine. Limited internet which we appreciated. Make sure you check out what each room has when booking. Many rooms do not have a full bath or a TV. So check that out first, so you get what you are expecting.
