We booked two cabins at this guest ranch for July for one night. Our plans changed and we canceled well within the allotted time for a 90% refund. Since then we have called four times to inquire about our refund and all four times have been told someone will look into it and call us back. No one has called. It is clear they have no intention of refunding us so now we have to dispute the charge with our credit card company. I do not recommend ever booking at this ranch.

If you cancel within the allotted time, don’t expect anyone to refund you

We stayed in the John Dunbar Walled Tent. The atmosphere is great, accommodations were rustic and fun and the free breakfast was delicious, made to order, and had many options available. We will return and highly recommend including this in your next trip. We've already recommended this to our family and friends.

Worth the stay

Stayed in one of the Glamping tents. Wanted to stay in a TP, but only twin beds in those the stay was wonderful.  The staff was very friendly and helpful. Offered a wonderful home cooked breakfast in the morning. Would recommend if you were looking for a unique experience in Montana.

Great experience

We made a super quick trip to Kalispell and thought this looked like a great place. Check in was easy and the cabin was cozy, clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that I didn’t have enough time to stay for what sounded like a delicious breakfast and a trail ride! Beautiful, quiet and we will be back!

Cool place!

This place is a crap hole Sharon ripped us off 1000 days before Christmas.  I couldn’t shower here for 3 weeks. No water. We had no door know and a hole in our door for 3 weeks. No power most of the time. The place is trashy and dirty. Our cabin had webs and was not clean. This place is a joke. Find somewhere else to go. Sharon treats her employees horrible and she is more like a slave driver. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s junky. It’s gross. They make food in a nasty kitchen. Just gross.

Go somewhere else

We decided to go with Lonesome Ranch since they answered phone where other places didn’t.  Wow the ranch & staff are amazing!   Super friendly and down to earth.   Blake was so good at making sure she both of us comfortable before we took off on our trail ride.   During the ride he told us about the ranch and asked how we doing? Took pics of us on top of the mountain with incredible views. At the end of the ride he let us give our horse a snack and took more pics of us.   Awesome place!!!

Horseback riding

I recently spent one night at Lonesome Dove in Kalispell. I had reservations for two nights but only stayed one. Here are some things you should know before you go. It is definitely not a “glamping” experience. I have camped my entire life (60+ years) 
and do not require anything fancy. But for $150 a night I definitely expected more. The bathhouse is extremely small for a group of 4 tents and 4 or 5 teepees. For the women it is one shower, one toilet with no privacy and a sink. The door to the toilet has huge cutouts so anyone can see right in. That is if you can get in. The whole thing is extremely small and cramped. When you step on the floor near the toilet, dirty water comes up from the ground. I did step into the men’s room for a moment and if I was a man I would not have taken a shower in that shower stall. It was disgusting!  I asked for towels to use and was told they were in the tent. They were very small towels; one was like a hand towel and the biggest one had large holes in it. They were very old and worn towels. Not really what my daughter and I were expecting. When walking the distance to the bathhouse beware of horse poop on the path. The walk to the bathhouse is some distance from the tents. The tent itself was okay except that it needed to be swept. There was quite a bit of straw on the floor. I’m generally not one to complain, however, I felt people need to know what they’re getting before they go. Definitely would not recommend this as a great place.

Beware! Not a good glamping experience

A beautiful ranch with a spacious cabin that comfortably accommodate 2 adults and 2 teens. The highlight was undoubtedly the breakfast, which was included. Although we didn’t stay in the tipi or raised tents those also looked to be great options. Overall this was a welcome surprise and nice way to end our time in Glacier NP.

BEST Breakfast!

This was the highlight of my roadtrip! If you are wanting nature and a warm hearted welcome, this is the place to go! 

From the first phone call to the end of my 1 night stay (I wish I could have stayed longer), all the team were very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was amazing. 

I arrived at closing time and Sharon, Charlie waffles and a couple of other ladies were there to greet me. They stayed to make sure I knew where to go and took the time to answer all of my questions. 

I stayed in the Tipi, which was super clean and smelled great. This was similar to camping but with a bed.. which was very comfortable. I had my camping gear so I was able to provide food for myself as it was pass dinner time. The view I had from the picnic table of the tipi village, buffalo and nature with deer walking through and a turkey wandering the grounds filled my heart and soul with gratitude. 

Wood for a fire and breakfast was included in the price of the stay. Breakfast was very tasty. I walked through the place and greeted the horses (from outside the pen) all animals were happily munching on hay. They are well fed and cared for. 

The next morning, breakfast was delicious and I was only able to fit in a 1 hour ride. They went out of their way to accommodate this ride. There was a 2 hour ride scheduled for later in the day but they made the one hour ride happen at an earlier time. It was a private ride and I have to say, hands down the best trail ride I have had. Thanks to Brownie; a quick stepping mustang and Alabama (sorry! forget your human name;)) Taylor I think.... He quickly assessed my riding skill, picked an amazing horse for me and adjusted the ride accordingly. 

So a huge Thank you to this family owned Guest Ranch/Rescue team! I'm already planning my next trip to stay longer. 

From reading other reviews on here: Keep in mind people this is a working ranch and rescue and if you are expecting a 5 star hotel experience then go to a 5 star hotel. Just a FYI. ;)

A hidden Gem!

Thought we were getting a hotel room when we arrived we had a tent with bathroom facilities a hike away. Jay John next to tents. No light in tent. Tents were clean could of used more blankets or heater that was promised. It was COLD.  Breakfast didn’t start until 830 we left by 7 due to being cold. They had no coffee going early in morning. Paths very muddy
