We booked and paid for a night here through Airbnb. We arrived at night after trekking out to the place only to be told that there were no rooms available, so we would have to sleep in our car. They did not help us find somewhere else to stay.

They had also been messaging us throughout the day, so they knew we were coming but didnt warn us in advance.

We were assured in person that they would get us a refund, however, it never came off our card. Then when we messaged them about it, they said we should cancel through Airbnb. This was absurd, since they overbooked us, misled us, and there was no fault of our own, yet we were out the money. We then had to go through a whole process with Airbnb to open a ticket and get a refund.

My 20 year old granddaughter and I were there last week and loved every minute of it.
The new manager was so nice and kind, she gave us a great tour of the property and let us know where everything was. We rode horses and hiked and had a wonderful time.
I will definitely will  go back,the rooms are very nice and clean and comfy. the view is spectacular no matter where you looked. My granddaughter  really enjoyed the hot tub.

Great family vacation or a cozy getaway

We booked this venue bcuz it was the only one we could find due to a home Griz game in Missoula.  We came to attend a wedding in Hamilton.  We reluctantly booked bcuz of a "no refund" policy (never again)!  We arrived early & she was kind enough to allow us in the room. We spent less than 2 minutes checking in.  We noticed walking thru the dining area the carpet was filthy as well was that of the spiral staircase. The hallway to our room was VERY dark and it was early afternoon!!  Our room view was beautiful but the room was much smaller than pictures portrayed (should only have one double bed)!We turned the heat up and soon realized one bed was touching the electric baseboard heater.  Investigating... the blankets were already warm...FIRE HAZARD!!  There was NO toilet tissue in the double holder (which was grossly dusty). When we left about 30 minutes after checking in for a wedding, there was no one around to talk to.  We left a note on one of the tables to leave some toilet tissue by our door.  Upon arriving nine hours later for the nite, the note was still on the table and no tissue by the door or in our room!!  She had left us No contact number ...Turning down the bed we noticed it had no top sheet so checked the other and it did so we moved all our belongings so we could sleep in the one with the top sheet. We did find the bed comfortable.  The shower doors were caked with soap scum, the rails were disgusting and there was dirt and grime on the back of the tub.  It clearly had not been cleaned for some time!! My husband could not keep the water temperature regulated.  The samples of hand soap were all broken in pieces so had to use bits for hand washing. ALL rented rooms should have a full length mirror and kleenex.. there was neither!!   Upon leaving shortly after daybreak we were made aware that NO ONE else spent the nite there... no cars outside except ours.. no coffee brewing...We paid TOO much for what we received!! This venue has GREAT POTENTIAL but needs someone in charge who loves it and the business!!  We will never stay again....

"DON'T RECOMMEND!!"

I got married here in July and we were very disappointed with our experience at Trapper Peak. The owners were terrible to deal with. They promised us a long list of things that were either halfway done or not done at all. During our stay we tried to contact them with multiple issues. The majority of our calls/texts went unanswered. A few of my friends found mice in their room in the main lodge. I asked 3 months prior to the wedding for them to move their hunting dogs which they promised to do. Instead, they howled throughout my ceremony and reception. A creepy man showed up and would not leave- he was looking for the owner because they owed him money. The breakers were constantly going out at the lodge and barn- the refrigerator and coffee maker stopped working, water was dripping through the ceiling in the kitchen, and the music cut out halfway through our first dance. The grounds were in poor condition and the rooms were not clean. This place has a lot of potential but I would NOT recommend staying here under the current ownership/management. We were not expecting the four seasons by any means but this is an extremely rustic venue. Beware- The website is VERY deceiving! 

BEWARE!

We had reservations to stay at Trapper Peak Outfitters and Guest Lodge but we couldn't reach the area because of big fires burning in the near by area and thick smoke on the highway which abstracted our view and made our eyes water and severe cough.  
We called the hotel and try to get a refund because this was not our fault for canceling and because it was dangerous to continue driving into the thick smoke but they refused to give us our refund. I would never try to stay in this place again. Bad faith owners and very rude.
