The receptionist, Britania, was very helpful to me when I was booking my reservation. Upon  my arrival, she was pleasant & answered all my questions when I checked out. 
I will definitely return here. 
The lady who cleaned my room, Lilianna, (spelling??) was very accommodating with extra towels. 
Both employees were amazing!!!!!!

AMAZING

Rooms are on the outdated side. Not that the trip was staying in the room, other than a place to sleep, but they need a update. 
Obviously they have a great location which helps towards a positive review. 
Time for a room review and some needed updates.
The roadside cook truck in the parking lot is a fantastic touch, but the prices??? $4.50 for a cup of coffee, really? I'm sure it's an outside vendor who controls his own pricing and pays his way for the location, but wow. Killing the customer that has limited choices when it comes to food and drink at Wavecrest. No restaurant or bar at the location...so I guess they got you on the convenience end.

Just So So...

Decent and nice place to stay. Ocean views and a food truck on premises. Unfortunately wasn’t able to enjoy fully since the weather was bad for the two days we stood. I’m pretty sure it would have been a totally different experience if it wouldn’t have been raining.

We’ve been coming to the Wavecrest every September for more than 20 years!  It seems that all the rooms have been updated and as usual our room was clean, quiet and comfortable!  Food truck is a bit pricey but a nice option to have on premises.  Guy setting up chairs and umbrellas apparently is new. He was pretty grouchy and doesn’t appear to like his job. But otherwise the Wavecrest is the best place to stay in Montauk.   Right on the beach!

The place was great but because of good reviews it is become too popular. Our room was not ready at 2:30 with a normal 3 check in time so had to leave and come back. The 11  check means you better book an extra day.  Beach was wonderful with amazing guy working his tail off bringing and setting umbrellas and chaise lounges.Friendly non-pretentious  people who own condo's here like Pierre made us feel right at home 

Wanted more!

We were so disappointed with this overpriced room that we left a full day early to avoid staying in it longer.

Where to begin?

I found the entire place deceptive and the employees to be surly and unhelpful. The photos on the website are misleading in the same way a dodgy realtor might selectively crop and angle photos on a bad property to make it look nicer than it is. The door to the room barely opened as you walk directly into the bed! 

The "suite" isn't really a suite in any real sense. The main bed is jammed into a tiny room in front of the door, the other bed is a fold out uncomfortable sofa.  The sheets on both were dirty and stained. The floor was dirty. The kitchen didn't have the appliances shown in the photo and the electric stove-top could only be used with pots/pans supplied in the cabinet but between the old pans and the lack of a functioning oven fan, the entire place filled with smoke immediately.  None of the smoke alarms work either.

The staff was grumpy. They looked and acted put out when performing any task. There was zero customer service and no joy in anything they did.

One perceived benefit was the indoor heated pool, but despite being the only people in the pool, the experienced was ruined by the lurking employee who was not a lifeguard and just hawked over my family asking our room number as if we had snuck into the pool. Our small children weren't even allowed to take a pool towel back to the room despite shivering from the cold and having to walk back in a rainstorm! They made my 3 year old daughter leave her towel rather than let her be wrapped up in it.  Who does that?

The room itself was dirty and probably not cleaned. The noise between rooms was unbearable as the people staying above us dragged furniture, argued, stomped around and had makeup sex all with crystal clear clarity to us below.

If you have children, there is no safe place for them to sleep.  Either they sleep in a room with balcony and stove access, or in a room that opens directly outside.  There was little security on any doors meaning that the doors could be opened by any sized child that can walk and has hands.

The prices are outrageous as a single night cost more than an all inclusive Caribbean resort with butler service.  If weren't trying to avoid to dangers of the severe weather from Hurricane Ian, there is no way I would spent $350 a night for no service, bad rooms, dirty linens and a terrible experience.

Ultimately, it was better for everyone for us to leave after 1 night and just go home. It was the worst hotel experience I've had in the last 20 years.

Avoid at all costs

One major problem is that the staff is obviously unhappy in their work environment and appears glum and hostile to customers.  A warm welcome is seriously lacking!

The condition of the room was pathetic:  The floor was dirty to the point where my husband had to throw out the socks he was wearing.  The lamp between the beds did not work.  The screen door was ripped and there was a dirty wine glass and empty water bottle on the balcony.  Only one out of the two burners worked.  

Very sad because the beach is lovely but we will never go again.  The price for this is ridiculous.

Totally disappointing

As a grandma, my first outing with my family since the pandemic was momentous. Miraculously, the grandchildren were all free of sniffles and we had clearance to go. Nothing would have prevented us from having a wonderful time - and nothing did - in spite of the fact that the reception staff were among the rudest, nastiest people I have come across. They acted as though I was trespassing on their property.  No eye contact when I entered the registration area - just “ move your car to one of the open spots and put this pass in the windshield.” Any interaction I had w them was similar and they were different people at different times. The views are lovely, the rooms are just barely adequate. Not all rooms have A/C. Even the guy in the food truck was unaccommodating.  I would never return. I’ll take my $500. a night and go elsewhere.

Nasty Staff

I recently stayed at the Wavecrest Resort.  It was one of the best vacations I have been on in a long time.  While  checking in,  the office help was so amazing.  The front desk ladies were so very nice and answered all of our questions.  Our room had the best view of the ocean.  It was so clean and comfortable.  We needed a few extra things and they had them there very quickly.  The beds were so comfy too.  We loved the beach shed were a very nice guy named Kevin got our chairs and umbrella set up on the beach.  We really enjoyed our stay.  Wavecrest is a very nice vacation spot with its laid back vide and friendly staff.  I loved our stay and cant wait to go back.

Disappointment is too kind to describe our experience.   People need to reject the concept of being abused.  The room smells of mildew the bed allegedly is queen size on a wood board for a boxspring definitely not queen.  We are not overweightpeople.  5 sleepless nights checked out early.  Full kitchen definition 2 knives. 2 forks and bring your own can opener. 2 burners barely working.   If you love to be ripped off and crippled from a bad bed please enjoy.  Byochiropractor.  Stay away from this hotel especially room 153.
