This is a 2 star motel, doors are to the outside. We felt safe. Very nice and clean room. King bed, a little soft for my liking but ok. Front desk lady (Terri, I think) was very friendly. Back Street Cafe located at the back of the motel. Dairy Queen located close by. BP station next door. We stayed in room 114. Close to busy road. We could hear traffic when we were awake but we’re not disturbed by it while sleeping. Cost was $181 for 2 nights and it included taxes and fees. Was booked through booking.com. The bathroom water faucet was a little difficult to pull up and when you did, it sprayed with full force, getting water everywhere. Gotta pull it up slowly. 
I would definitely recommend this motel.

Pleasant Surprise!

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, along with a microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge with freezer. They have an indoor and outdoor pool and beautifully landscaped grounds. The staff were also very friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

Great Stay in Ft Knox

Worst hotel if you think your gonna enjoy your stay here your not they don’t clean the rooms or give you new sheets or pillows they don’t vacuum or take the trash out they try and not pay house keeping so they can keep money for them selves terrible customer service rude employees and it’s over priced for what you get don’t bother wasting your money 

Worst hotel ever

I needed, requested, and received confirmation of a handicap room.  When I got there I found out they only had one and it was given out.  
The ADA handicap room was a joke.  You could not get a wheelchair into the toilet area, no railings for assistance, and the space was smaller than any half bathroom.

No Handicap room

When I first pulled into the parking lot I was a bit disappointed. It has been a long time since I stayed in a non-chain motel, and the exterior seemed a bit outdated. The clerk at the front desk was very friendly, asking me about where I was from and making sure I got all the information about the motel. The room was nice, although I wish the bed was situated facing the tv instead of parallel to it. The bathroom was VERY tiny, as in if you were sitting on the toilet there was no room to shut the door, but everything was clean, the tub was a decent size, and THE HOT WATER/WATER PRESSURE WERE AMAZING. There were four huge pillows (a bit too soft for me; I bring my own) and there were a lot of blankets. I liked that the air/heat unit was situated in the sink/vanity area, so cold air wasn't blowing directly on me all night. There was a list of tv channels (the last place I stayed didn't have one) and there were a LOT of channels to choose from. The desk chair was very comfortable. When I realized I didn't have any toothpaste, I stopped at the front desk to see if they had any. I was ready to go to the gas station next door when the clerk told me no, but she instead directed me to a Dollar General down the street so I didn't need to pay the exorbitant prices at the gas station.

Disliked · There was an open/used bar of soap by the sink (the one in the bathroom was new in package) and there was an open/used bottle of shampoo instead of a brand new bottle. I informed the desk clerk and she apologized, offering to get me a new one.

A stay worth twice the price!

Nice stay.  The front desk lady that check me in was very very nice.
We did see a roach in our room.
The biggest problem we had  were the toliets.
My husband is a double amputee and the toliets are not made for handicapped people. Way way to low.
I'm sure they are not ADA approved.
Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was perfect for our needs. I will definitely be staying here again.  It was not fancy but i didnt want to pay for fancy.  We were passing through and wanted a good night sleep. Room was clean, bathroom clean, tv worked great. No complaints.  Staff was friendly.

Clean

We stayed here two years ago and again this July.  The rooms are clean, the staff friendly, the pool area nice, the attached restaurant handy, and easily accessible to Ft. Knox.   Within walking distance of a Dairy Queen!

Great Hotel near Ft. Knox

What a great hotel.  Friendly staff and very clean!  Easy access and although it was a little father than we expected from Louisville, it was a nice drive and gave us an opportunity to explore the areas around Louisville a little.

Kentucky Derby weekend

We have traveled past this facility for decades always wondering what it might be like to stay there. Not anymore. We decided to take the grandkids with us on an overnight during their school break because it has a pool. No disappointments. It's an older facility but well maintained and clean. Beds were comfy and the room was spacious enough for the 5 of us. We were right next to the pool entrance and didn't have any noise or traffic problems. They do not serve breakfast but there is a restaurant co-located with the property. My wife and I recommend it and we have been there a number of times; however, with the pickiness of our youngsters, we saved a little money. The staff were simply wonderful--accommodating and friendly, Their pool was probably the only true "heated pool" we have   had the pleasure of enjoying and that includes using a number of up-scale motels/hotels...the grandkids would've stayed there all-night if possible; it is clean and well maintained. We didn't use the hot tub. We didn't find anything we didn't like about Golden Manor and thank the fine folks there for a very nice stay.
