The hotel was close to the highway and restaurants. The free breakfast was an added benefit. The room was quiet and comfortable for the price that I paid. The staff was friendly and helpful in giving me information on local restaurants and events.

Easy access

Front desk was quick and polite with my check in and check out. Breakfast was ok for the price paid.  Room was nice and very clean. I usually have issues with temperature control in rooms but this one seemed to work perfect! Location was perfect for my needs.

Great experience

Clarion Hotels should be ashamed. This place has to be the WORST “Clarion” motel in existence. We chose this absolute dump based solely on the name.  Cannot believe that this place is an actual member of the Clarion Hotel group. HUGE mistake. Stay away. Stay far away.

Dumptacular

Although they slapped a new coat of paint on,  it's still trashy.  Homeless people sleeping under the stairs, no way to take a bath, can't get the room to cool past 77 degrees.  Staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent.  As a female traveling with a child I felt extremely unsafe and was glad I packed...

Pass not a safe environment

This place absolutely disgusting there’s not enough bad words to describe this dump. I’m astounded that Clairon would allow  this dump to use their name. 
I booked two nights and checked out after the 1st night and they refused to refund my money for the second night and the place is so bad I chose to lose my $170 plus taxes than to spend another night at this disgusting place, they told me it’s a company policy not to do a refund which tells me I’m not the the only one to do it. And I’m quite sure the electrical in the room is not up to code. 
The only positive is the gentleman that checked me in was very helpful and very courteous.

The rooms are very good doors to building and some rooms need fixed and reception on TV diffently need better service but overall rooms are nice and the prices are good will stay again and recommend to others

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and I was somewhat skeptical about it after seeing a bunch of negative reviews. I will say the rooms were quite comfortable and clean but the hotel in general could use a update to make it more inviting. The garbage was piled up a bit outside plus the area isn’t the greatest part of town but we didn’t fear for our safety. If you need a room for a decent price this isn’t a bad option!!

Not as bad as people say but a bit dated!!

Do not be deceived by any nice pictures that you may see, this hotel is disgusting. I booked a two night stay for myself and my boyfriend for our anniversary. A room with a hot tub. We pulled in and I got out of the car to check in. First off, they have tap pay terminals, but of course they don’t work. The lobby looked promising but we had a weird feeling. So we decided to look at the room before placing any items there. 

Thank god we did. The toilet was cracked. The room smelled like urine. The stairs were absolutely filthy to where the carpet was discolored with dirt. Walking up the stairs, I could smell marijuana. Funny because I booked a non smoking hotel. Streaks of something on the tubs and tattered duvet. I’ve stayed in nice rooms for 300 a weekend but they shouldn’t even charge 30 a night. There was trash in the hallways and I knew that I could not stay there. I can let some things slide, but as a completely sober couple, we don’t want to be staying somewhere where people are smoking weed. I started to have a panic attack, and we went back into the car. 

Instead of dealing with the front desk person who not only wasn’t friendly, told me “there are some local places” when asking for food recommendations for the morning, I called Priceline. Unfortunately, when they talked to the manager somehow my words were twisted and they told me “people walking around doesn’t mean they are doing drugs”, which was never something that I had claimed. It would have been nice to at least get a call from the manager so that I could tell them my concerns. I actually worked in a hotel a few years ago as a front desk agent,  and keeping the hotel clean, safe, and giving my guests a good experience was something that I took pride in. Cleanliness and customer service are clearly not a pillar in Clarion’s mission statement. 

I was charged almost 300 dollars to walk into a dirty, weed-smelling, sketchy hotel. I understand why they don’t give refunds because any sane person would’ve walked right out as well. I was told because I didn’t get pictures, there was no proof. If your front desk agent is doing rounds, they will know where the weed is coming from, but my assumption is that they’ll take anyone who is willing to sleep in a tattered bed, soak in a dirty hot tub, and endure the urine smell. Maybe that’s why they don’t mind the weed, because it covers up the smell of trash in the hallway and urine. 

The cherry on top was the front desk agent didn’t even tell me where to go. I was handed a card and had to figure it out on my own. I advise anyone reading this to not give this hotel their business. They clearly do not care about their guests. We fell in love with Muskegon and will be returning again in a few weeks to re-create the experience. Thankfully we booked another property, and will be staying there.

The WORST Hotel in America

I wish I could give them a ZERO! Somebody
from the front desk- so he said- pounded on
the door around midnight and tried to let
himself in. If it were not for the inside lock on
the door, he would of came in! Said he needed
my name because he didn't know who was in
the room because the person who checked
me in was new and didn't do it right! This was
horrible!
Also, the bedding and towels smelled of
cigarettes and I'm pretty sure the electrical in
the bathroom is not code! Never ever stay Here!
Still waiting for corporate to call me back! Also made a complaint with the BBB!

Do not stay here!

This is the worst Clarion Inn I have ever seen. When we pulled up we were greeted with giant pot holes. As we drove towards the main entrance we noticed all the full garbage cans by each door. Than as I began to get out of the car a Man with his pants hanging off his bum was smoking pot walked by. I  tried to call the clerk inside but no one answered. The curtains looked like a tornado had go thru each room leaving them disheveled. We decided that this blighted hotel and are was not safe. We than called Booking.com to tell them we would not be staying at the hotel and to complain about the misrepresentation. We were told to bad and would have to take it up with the hotel GM Amy. Well by day 3 I still have not been successful in talking with Amy.
