This place is awful. It is filthy, it smells, and it is dark. It is a combination of rentals and residents that are kind of sketchy. They like to hang around outside their doors or smoke over the railings and try to talk to you. W estates in unit 301 through VRBO. I will stay in my van or in the street with the homeless people next time. 

Let’s take a tour! The entrance brings you to the filthy kitchen where other people’s meals are dripped down the cabinets and stove. Oh, hold on - don’t take off your shoes. Your feet will be black. The window unit is caked in dirt and grime, surprisingly it works. 

The living area. Dust and dirt on the surfaces, don’t try to sleep in the bed - there is sand in it. I slept on the couch, I did not pull it out after reading another review and I draped my own sheets from home over it. 

Bathroom.. is that my hair? No I haven’t showered yet. 

Bedroom is more of the same, another filthy AC unit. I can’t report on the bed as that family member opted to sleep on top of it with their own blankets. Smart! Don’t look behind the nightstands, you’ll have nightmares. Another bathroom with hair and filth. 

Of course I reported this to the management company, and asked for the 105$ cleaning fee to be reimbursed as there was obviously no cleaning going in here since 1973. I suspect the owner “cleans” the unit themselves and pockets the fee. I was given the choice of the cleaning crew coming to clean and further interrupt my vacation or being refunded the 105$ fee which I took since I already cleaned half the stuff myself to make it habitable. 

The pool and signage are super cute and the staff are nice. That is all this place has going for it. Spend more money and stay some place cleaner and safer.

Just don’t

My sister and I booked this place through VRBO and expected better from them (we’ve used them before). We arrived at the resort around 10pm and the front office was locked, had to call the emergency number and they informed me that vrbo was suppose to provide me with a code to get into the room. Had to search through my email just to be able to get into my room. Once I was in the room I was shocked by the overall quality of the place. The pictures in the advertisement are obviously staged very well and don’t resemble anything like the room I booked. We immediately loaded our stuff up and looked for a different place to stay. Management won’t refund any of our money and neither will VRBO! Make sure to check the reviews before booking a place

Terrible

We decided to take a family trip to Myrtle Beach so we booked a condo in “Wave Rider” via AIRBNB.  The listing NEVER mentioned that this condo was located in “Wave Rider.”  Had we known this, we would have never rented the condo because the reviews for this place are horrible!  We paid a little over $600 for only 2 nights. With that kind of money, we could’ve stayed at a more reputable and upscale hotel.  When we walked into the tiny condo;  we felt deceived because it was not what we expected.  It was a dump.  The ceiling was chipping.  The sliding door on the patio was broken so you couldn’t even lock it.  The beds were like boxes, not comfortable!  The floors were so filthy that after walking around, the bottom of our feet were black!  The refrigerator was disgusting!  I had to clean & disinfect it!  The elevator was disgusting looking and it got broken one day.  Overall, this “condo” was a huge embarrassment!  It didn’t feel safe staying there, the people looked very sketchy.  DO NOT stay here unless you don’t mind cheap run down motels LOL!  Look at my pics if you need more convincing..

What a Dump!!

Police were there 3 times for the 3 hours I was. Saw drug deals in parking lot. A/C did not work and they refused to fix. Dirty and stained tables chairs. Stove ruined, Cable did not work. Curtains filthy, floors sticky, pool disgusting with no water. The cleaning staff washed mop in the sink. Was supposed to be there a month could even stay 1 night. Larrowe management has refused to refund my money. All together the worst hotel and experience I've ever been in.

DON'T STAY HERE!!

Me and my fiancé and kids visited for a week. We were under the impression it have tv with cable. Well it did have a tv but it didn’t have cable or working wifi so you can imagine how the kids felt at night. The room was clean but we were in the room right across from the laundry room. They were so noisy in the mornings and smoked right there even with no smoking signs up. The smell of cigarettes leaked into our room the whole time. Every time we walked in and out they were there staring and watching like we were doing something wrong. The pool was nasty. It had a thick brownish black ring around it at the top and had hair and dirt floating in side. No one at the resort touched the pool for days till the day we were leaving. The lazy river was just that...LAZY. It didn’t even work and the sprayers didn’t work either.  The kids area on top of the lazy river did let water down like a rain shower but the 1 foot deep pool for kids was nasty. It had dead bugs floating in it. So much to say there was no kids in it. The people were nice although there was a woman with multicolored hair who was in the office when we checked in and then we seen her everywhere all the time like she was watching. This place makes enough money to seriously have some upgrades. Hopefully they will one day but until then we will not be visiting anymore.

Worst place ever

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This place is awful. We seen drug deals happening in the parking lot. The place is nasty and we didn’t even make it to the room. It is definitely not a safe place. The windows are moldy and the curtains are yellowed. It’s awful. Also when I tried to cancel because (we were on a girls trip with young teenage girls) we did not feel safe the so called manager would not refund my money. The cancellation policy clearly states if you cancel you will forfeit one nights stay. He refused to give me the rest of my money and then hung up on me. We had to find another place and spend more money just to feel safe and secure. You couldn’t pay me to stay here!!

WORST PLACE EVER!!

This place was discussing. Dead bugs on refrigerator, stove covered in grease, door was nasty, tub had left over dirt and had not been cleaned, bed covers old and faded or just so dirty they looked that way and the microwave was so bad and nasty it was ridiculous. Last in room less than 5 minutes. Manager would not help at all. My dog would not stay. Speaking of which while in parking lot put key in a box, 4police cars pull up and k-9s searching. A woman drunk or high in parking lot. Worst place I have ever seen and traveled around alot. Even poor countries I have been to like Belize and Honduras look 5 stars over this place. Stayed in a 1968 camper and it was way better. DON'T STAY HERE. Would not listen about refund. Had to drive 2 hrs home. Wasted trip and money.

Our room was in need of remodeling. The ceiling leaked during the rain storm. Outlets were missing covers. The room air conditioner  was old rusted out and missing its outside cover. There were broken tiles in the floor. The website said there was a playground for kids, but there wasn't one that we could find.

We booked this last minute weekend through booking.com. We arrived in the rain and the smell from the lobby was overwhelming of mildew. We asked the man behind the counter (who was completely dismissive and couldn’t care less) to see a room. It was BEYOND dirty and disgusting!!! The view was of the roof that had drug paraphernalia and what looked to be a lice kit on top of it. We came back down horrified especially after looking at the pool - that looked like it had diseases and nothing like what was pictured-and the man said he had already charged our card the full amount and couldn’t refund us. We were even afraid our cars would get stolen. Horrible part of town, disgusting resort, and beyond horrible customer service!!!  We are awaiting our bank to refund us-quite a battle. We ended up at the Sands Resort which thankfully had room left. Would recommend Sands Resort to anyone-we will be back!!! As for Wave Rider.....unless you want to immediately contract hepatitis C STAY AWAY!!!! WORST HOTEL EVER!!!

Stay AWAY!!!!

It was clean and close to the beach.  The bed was good but I should have brought my pillows.  It is close to the beach and it's affordable.  I am happy with my choice. It is a room with 2 beds a fridge stove and microwave.  Cable and a nice pool. I  will stay again.
