The white sands is a wonderful location right on the beach but that’s where the positives end. The manager, Omar, is beyond rude. Our room, room 16, was a large room (good size for families) but the fake tempurpedic beds were beyond uncomfortable. The room had a fridge and kitchen area which was nice. Bathroom was clean. However the AC was definitely broken- every minute it would make a loud buzzing noise for about 6 seconds. We couldn’t sleep and the next day we told Omar about this. He had an excuse and claimed every ac unit in all rooms were like that. We asked for a new room and he immediately said there was no availability however after we asked him to check again, magically one was available. We were able to move thankfully and the AC unit in our new room didn’t make that noise and the bed was more comfortable. Overall, the location is amazing and the rooms are clean, however the customer service was awful and put a damper on the stay. Omar also told us that he “doesn’t want people like us to return”… not good customer service I’d say!

Leo is the man. Absolutely amazing service  and helps out terrifically. Get the Diamond club! It makes the experience that much better. Leo helped make the expierence that much better. White sands and blue waters is an amazing place to stay. I highly suggest staying here. Request Leo every time you come. He knows how to party and make it a great time. Can’t thank him enough. Ask for Leo!

Leo is amazing

I wonder why no reviews in past 2 years True, it’s not easy to book a reservation, but it’s a lovely spot, and features A/C, WiFi, fridge, microwave, free parking and comfortable beds.
Manager/Reception quite laid back, to put it nicely. Nuf said. A bit expensive, but not out of line for area.

Much to offer, few drawbacks.

The top-notch room alone is worth a stay. Right on the beach. Beautiful terraces with comfortable beds. Very friendly, uncomplicated service. A half-star retreat (if it were possible) for the slightly poor kitchen equipment.

Location: indescribably beautiful

We got this room last minute as there were no resorts that had any vacancies. It was not cheap, but very expensive for what you get. You get a room with no air condition. That is absurb in the middle of July. It was extremely uncomfortable. Also, the TV didn't work. Only stay if you have to.

We have stayed many, times with our children and grandchildren at the White Sands and thoroughly enjoyed our times there. Although it has been some time since we have been back. We booked this back in February. We arrived on July 8th and checked in and the women handed us a packet of information, which is usual upon check in. We went to our 1st floor room and saw an 18 foot sand dunes in front of our room .
 Obviously not able to see the ocean. We walked up a steep walkway and saw the Army Corp of engineers working dredging the beach. They advertise "Private Beach" We were not allowed to go that beach and we would have had to walk 2 football fields down to get to another beach. We were very disappointed to say the least.
They do have 2 pools. If we were notified ahead of time by even an e mail, we wouldn't have driven 2 1/2 hours and paid $400 + a night to just to sit by a pool with NO OCEAN VIEW!!  We got back to the room and read a letter to let us know we were unable to use the beach. A little late after they had our credit card!!! Besides that we were very disappointed with the room, the smell of mold in the room, and furniture looked like the 1970's. Obviously they haven't up graded in a long time.
We were very disappointed after we complained to the hotel manager she was not helpful at all.😤

Caution - White Sands Hotel in Point Pleasant,  NJ

My family and I have been going to White Sands for decades. The rooms are comfortable. The place is beautifully kept. The garden you walk through as you go up the stairs to the office is so beautiful. The beach is gorgeous. Many of the rooms have decks from which you can see the water. It is a perfect place. I have not been there for a couple of years, so the date I am clicking below is inaccurate, however required.

One of my favorite places on earth

The property is absolutely and incredibly spotless.  The hotel has beach chairs, towels and umbrellas.  

The white walls and the stark furniture is very aesthetically appealing and classic.  

There was a nice family that was staying there too. 

Dionna is amazing and super accommodating .  I booked the hotel room through booking.com and it turns out that we weren’t supposed to have a child in our room.  We had the bedroom (room 23) .  Because of fire regulations, there is only supposed to be 2 people in the room.

The grounds are incredibly landscaped and gorgeously kept up.

Such a great value . 

We had to buy our own charcoal in town. There was a creepy person/guest who smoked the entire time outside in the courtyard.
There really isn’t any privacy in the rooms facing the courtyard.  We were woken in by a baby at 6:30am and a screaming Father . People walk by our room.  

There is no air conditioning .   I didn’t seem to mind. My husband didn’t like the no - air conditioning .   Probably the other rooms are not as bad since they probably have cross breeze 

Simple.  Classic.  Good value 

The rooms are plonked right next to the Atlantic Ocean. So close you can hear the waves thundering against the sand from inside the room. 

I booked here because it was the cheapest and nearest to Montauk. Almost everywhere else is double or even treble the White Sands Motel nightly cost.

It’s location is a 12 minute drive from Montauk if you go the quicker way. If you take the Old Montauk Highway which is much slower it all starts to make sense. The old road is a complete Hamptons experience. Sweeping corners and surprising enormous drops in the road that bend and swerve beautifully keep your mind fully focussed on the art of driving. And the beauty of this region. 

You can imagine the Kennedys bombing around here in their little sports cars in the 60s . Which makes the - comparatively - low price for the Motel feel even more value for money. Those actually staying in Montauk itself will hardly get to do this fantastic route. 

The motel has Wi-fi, barbecue pits, sun loungers and a garden at the front that looks like it takes up a lot of time and money. It’s spectacular and I’m not really a garden person. Parking is free and while I was there the other motel people were all really friendly. Great place! 


Motel on the Sea

Nicest motel ever been to.  Very clean and of course great location-ocean view.  No restaurant on property but that may be a plus as great resturants in town and near by at Montaulk .  No pool or spa either.
