This is a step back in time. It is exactly like the motels I stayed in with my family in the early 1960’s before the interstates and chains.  With zero updates! Might be a good place to bring the kids and give them a flavor of the old days .  Clean and a very nice manager- Vern.

A step back in time

Internet was fair if you sat outside in front of the office door. The carpet in the bedroom was so stained and dirty it was disgusting.  (I'll allow, it looked vacuumed.)  I slept on top of the covers with my own sheet and blanket.  The cockroach in the bathroom didn't impress me.  The bathroom was clean but they obviously don't do any pest control.  I guess everyone has their idea of what is clean and acceptable, but the "reasonable" price was way to much for this place.

it's an experience !!! concrete walls, interesting choices in decor made decades ago and not kept up, a total lack of options in the area - reviewed so I could post the photo of the local cat who visited the room

This is my second stay. I've been travelling for a year around the U.S. and Mexico. I came back because of: the warm welcome Vern gives his customers, the clean and safe room for a fair rate and that my two small dogs are welcome. This is the only motel I've ever learned the name of the  owner, or cared too.  Great little motel!!! 😊😊😊

Great little motel!!!

This is a locally owned, older, budget motel which met my needs perfectly for an overnight as I was heading home. The price is good, I was comfortable, I was toasty warm on a cold night, I was traveling alone and felt safe, my pup was my traveling buddy and he was welcome too for only $5 additional, and last but not least, all of the staff were so friendly. Vern, I think the owner, is the nicest of people, warm and genuine. He had gone out of his way to help some travelers who had a wreck nearby while I was there. There are VERY few places to stay along a long stretch of road, and I would stay here every time. There is also less than a quarter mile away I think it’s a Sinclair gas station and store with some hot food and great cinnamon rolls. Very convenient for both refilling the tank (and I would definitely top off the tank here if headed north) and getting a bite to eat. There are big green dinosaurs out front, so you can’t miss it. 

Thank you to Vern and the other two staff members who assisted me.  You all made me feel comfortable and safe.

Very friendly staff, comfortable motel

We were in Cabin #8. It's furnished nicely but dark. The walls are newly painted but in a dark gray, and lamps and window light are modest. There were no extra bath towels and no hairdryer. Don't wash your hair if it's cold outside. 

The kitchenette had incomplete silverware service (one fork, one wine glass). There was no sugar for the coffee and only one small packet of coffee, BUT there were lots of hot chocolate packets. The welcome note on the door was a really nice gesture but it wasn't our name on the note.  The restaurant was closed (for the season? for ever?).  If you arrived late and didn't bring your own food, you would be out of luck because this motel and this  
hamlet are at the end of the world.

I'd stay there again just for their morning coffee. Best I've ever tasted. Very nice, helpful staff. The rooms are older but have a new fridge, microwave and TV. I slept like a rock and awoke to a beautiful view of the valley, which I enjoyed sitting by the fire pit, sipping that great coffee.

Down home comfort.

This is a vintage 1960's hotel that is comfortable, clean, with great customer service.  It met our basic needs for a 2-day stay, simple accomindations.  Didn't worry or expect any COVID-19 protocol, because I am so done with that nonsense.  I highly recommends this hotel... :)

Comfortable, Affordable, Friendly

Older motel but comfortable beds. No active coronavirus prevention, if that’s important to you. Owners were friendly but were never masked. I sprayed down the room with disinfectant before we settled in for the night.  Owner provided the ice from their office.  

Brief overnight stay

We were doing a sightseeing trip to Caliente, Nevada, and surrounding areas. The place we wanted to stay in Caliente was unavailable, none of the other alternatives looked all that good, so we ended up staying in Alamo. The Alamo Inn looked like it would meet our needs, and it did. There is nothing about the AI that stands out, but there were  no glaring flaws either. A refrigerator and microwave are included, as well as a nice flat screen TV with a good variety of channels (although a few did not come in very well). No tub, but a usable shower stall. Small, but adequate (there's that word again). Quiet. Clean. Good service from the front desk people. Reasonably priced. If you need to stay in Alamo, this place will meet your needs.
