cute and rustic, sweet housekeepers, scary manager. be careful to follow all rules even the ones you were never informed of and youll get a man with a ponytale calling the cops on you. i dont have anything else to say but i seem to have to keep typing for this thing to post it.

Charming if clean

Absolutely disgusting and awfully rude customer service. On December 28th 2023, After a 7 hour drive from LA, my wife and I showed up at the front desk around midnight looking for a room to rent, we rang the office doorbell and waited but no one showed up although the light was on. We went back to our car then saw a man come out next to the office, so I went back, and he came at me very aggressively & rudely saying “the f**k do you want!?” … to which I responded “the f**k do you mean the f**k do I want…? Isnt this Nevada City Inn? - yes - well my wife & I wanted to get a room for the night here but it doesn’t seem like we need it anymore” and I walked away spitting on the ground to show my disgust towards him. 

On our way out, he was waiting outside by his truck smoking a cigarette so I got out of the car and asked him what his name was so I can contact the owners and tell them about his unacceptable behavior, to which he then started saying that im harrassing him and trespassing on his property so he threatened to call the cops, to which I laughed in his face and told him go ahead do it lol. Youll be making yourself look like the absolute delusional fool you already are. He called them and while on the phone I told him id like to speak to the officer as well, to which he claimed that I’m attacking him and trying to grab the phone from him (I was like 10ft away from him 😆). 

I told him he is Pathetic and he needs to learn how to do his job as an employee and that he’s lucky my wife was there because I wouldve handled this moron much differently had I been alone. Got in the car after my wife kept repeatedly telling me to let it go. 

Definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.

Awfully rude & Absolutely disgusting customer service.

We arrived today for 5 nights in cabin #26. The grounds are pretty. Cabins are historical and cute, all with front porches overlooking the grounds. No pool or hot tub, but the location is primo. Close to many great places to eat and breweries. The only cabin with a full size refrigerator is #23; other than that you just get a mini frig. The blinds were broken and falling off the windows. Drapery was gray with dirt. All counters were sticky; even the rail on the front deck. The floor was also filthy. I had to wipe everything down, including the patio chairs, bathroom floor, and dried on barbecue sauce from the table. The place is packed. I can't imagine why the owners would let this cash cow be left in such poor condition, without enough help to keep them clean and maintained. Even most of the electrical outlets in the wall did not work.

CUTE BUT FILTHY

Among the deficiencies I’ve noticed…
Shower curtain rod was used for pull-ups and hangs low, have to duck to get in tub
Faucets need new washers
Management so cheap, they cut a sponge into a 2”x1” piece, leaving a ragged edge 
Garbage not picked up from room as well as cans along walkway
Patio light needing replacement 
Unit has a kitchen, all plates, utensils were removed from a previous visit
Trip advisor and Google mentioned a breakfast….no longer offered

Pictures don’t do it justice. Simply amazing

Holy Sh!t!  An unbelievably amazing stay.

I don't think this place has been updated since Abe Lincoln was a young boy. The dead bolt was broke. Propped a chair against the door. Bath rm knob falling off. Shower stall the size of a phone both. Lighting very poor. I would never go back although the town seemed quaint.

Basically a dump

Really old and not well maintained inn. Room was very small, paint peeling everywhere. Shower water pressure was non-existent. Rooms on both sides of us had TV going on well into the night and first thing in the morning. Suspicious people just outside our door (looked like a drug deal going down). Just a tiny window A/C unit that only cooled the room a little. Yes, the grounds may be nice, but the rooms aren't. I felt like I was spending a night at an expensive Motel 6. Spend a few more dollars and stay elsewhere!

While visiting the Nevada City/Grass Valley area, my cousin gave me a list of where not to stay. This was on it. But we were tired and was ready to settle in for a couple nights. This hotel is old, some rooms are better than others, Our was OK, Newer AC and TV was good, My wife loved the shower, Hot and Pressure like mention on other review. coffee maker was nasty, no coffee in the AM. Over all our stay was good, but I also see where other review's could be true also. It was a little expensive for what we got. Would I stay here again, Not without looking around a little more

Know what your getting, We got lucky

The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot with good water pressure. The internet signal was strong. The motel is old, but seemed clean if worn around the edges. The microwave had no plate inside, and Continental breakfast was advertised when we booked but not available.

Overnight getaway

I would not even list this place!! It is so bad! The shower didn't work, just a trickle of water, the hair dryer didn't work and it was dirty!!! The ONLY thing half decent was the bed...it was comfortable. If it hadn't been for Victorian Christmas weekend, we would've gone elsewhere!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
