This is now CoHo Hostel! This is a shining example of why we need a hostel culture in the US. I had been to many in Europe and wasn’t sure to what to expect, but the second I walked through the door I felt welcome and safe - it felt like showing up to a friends’ house who has invited lots of cool people over. The safety/security measures made me feel so safe, and everything was so clean and inviting. You can tell the owners (SO SWEET!!) put so much love and care into this place. The night I arrived they even had a little event in the common space that was so welcoming. Even the little things make a big difference: I noticed they have a “solo hiker” sign out sheet, so solo hikers can share their plan and expected return date as well as contact info in case something happens. The kitchen is well stocked and clean, and everything feels so loved in and special. 

My only feedback is that the beds are pretty hard, but I had no trouble sleeping after ski days! But someone did recommend bringing a little mattress pad (like for camping), if you think it may be an issue. I also think they could use some bigger towels - they are pretty much a standard hotel towel, but i’m a W size 12/14 and it juuuust fit around me; I think given the focus on inclusivity that would be an awesome addition!!! 

If you’re going to the white mountains, I recommend staying here over any hotel. I am spoiled and normally stay with family friends, but even with that privilege I may opt to stay here in the future! Plus it’s a 5 min drive to the main stuff in NoCo, about 10/15 to Cranmore Mountain, 30 to Wildcat (my two faves). You should stay here, just do it!!!!

The BEST place to stay in the White Mountain area!

This hostel changed ownership in 2021, and is now the CoHo Hostel.  I stayed 2 nights in a female/non-binary bunk room.  I've always liked staying in hostels, and CoHo is likely to become a regular stop for me.  The whole place was clean and welcoming.  There are a mix of bunk rooms, doubles, and family rooms.  With window AC units, it was comfortable for sleeping even though it was hot outside. The bathrooms were light with plenty of sinks and stalls (newly renovated, I think).  The kitchen has two stoves, which were pretty busy at suppertime, but I didn't have to wait for more than a few minutes.  Staff and visitors were all friendly - a mix of folks visiting the area and hikers.  If you are a solo traveler, and willing to share a bunk room (there are lockers for your belongings), the price can't be beat.  Thanks to Haley and Kyle for keeping hosteling alive in NH!

Great hostel  (now under new ownership)

I stayed at the hostel for 2 nights. For $35 it couldn't be better. You have just the amenities you need, like a towel and shower and a full kitche. For guest use. It is clean and welcoming. If you are looking for somewhere to stay during ski season, or while hiking the Whites, I highly recommend resting your head here. There is a full assortment of records to spin or puzzles to do as you wind down from you latest adventure. I dont think I could ask for better accommodations.

Great place to bunk

We have stayed a few times now, and each time is just a great as the time before.  People staying there are alway friendly, making it feel like home. We plan on visiting the White Mountains again and will definitely be looking to stay here again. 

very clean  and cozy

We have stayed here year after year and enjoy it every time!  We always stay in one of the private rooms (sleep 2-4 guests, perfect for families) but bunk rooms are also available.  The common room is comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped.  We especially enjoy meeting the other guests and eating Samara's delicious chocolate chip cookies!  Tim and Samara are wonderful hosts!

Friendly, warm and comfortable!

Clean rooms and bathrooms, staff is helpful, and the price is unbeatable for the location. The beds were comfortable, and if you book a private room there's a space heater that'll warm it up to as toasty as you want. They have dryers for gloves and boot liners too.

If your looking for a cheap base camp without the camping, this is a great option.

Perfect for hikers who don't want to camp

Location: Away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to quickly jump in the fun.

Facilities:  Clean and spacious.

Staff: pleasant, polite and accommodating.

Purpose of stay: Overnight stay for an early riser for a day hike in Mt Washington.

Love the turntable and vinyls in the mess hall - so cool.



Quaint B&B

We got to the place and on the door was a letter with my name and the rules of the place. We hoped to see a person that will welcome us in but no one did. There were only cemras that some one probably was waching thru. 
The room was clean . A really nice and big kitchen and nice beds. Also a TV with amazon tv. 
We realy liked the place.
