 We were in room 22 for the last 3 nights.   We would like to thank you for the nice accommodations after the small mishap in our original room.   Your kindness and recommendations on what to do , where to go, and where to eat made our stay most enjoyable.  We came up to enjoy some time away for our anniversary (43rd) and you made it special for us.  We hope to do this again in the future and would certainly visit you again.   Everyone was very nice and we mingled with guests who were equally friendly. Setting is so beautiful at this time of the year

There were both ups and downs. The rooms themselves were very clean, although the common areas such as the dining room had extremely dirty floors. I could feel grit crunching under my shoes and there was visible dirt on the floors.

The bed in our room was extremely hard and uncomfortable. If you are disabled like me, this will cause you a lot of pain. I was not able to sleep comfortably and was low energy and in pain through most of my trip. Unfortunately, the shower was luke-warm at best, so I didn't even have that to help ease my pain.

We were also frustrated because we requested a refrigerator be put in our room (I have severe food allergies and have to travel with all my own food), and it was not there when we checked in. We later found out that it was in another family member's room that hadn't requested it. The Inn made no attempt to source another fridge for us.

We also discovered that a window had been left open before we arrived, and our room had mosquitoes in it as a result.

Overall I would not recommend this Inn to people travelling here.

Not well-suited for disabilities

Don’t go!!! I went to a beautiful family wedding and stayed with my family in the “ condos “ next door. The condo was filthy. So filthy in fact that there were actually maggots on the carpet. We cleaned them up and called the desk and someone came and vacuumed the rug. They came back so we called again ( by now my kids are freaking out) they sent 2 groundskeepers and they said something must have died underneath but they couldn’t find anything. The next morning yep… more maggots. I went to the desk and got the run around, finally one of the staff said the owner will reimburse $100😂😂👏. I’m still waiting for that too. If it weren’t that this was a family wedding we would have made much more of a fuss. Don’t waste your money :( 

Maggot condos!!

We loved this little place. First of all, the setting is just stunning. 

The rooms are cozy with a fireplace and the beds are comfy! The hospitality is fantastic as well. Everyone is so friendly and personable. Honestly, this was our favorite place in New Hampshire by far. Don’t hesitate to choose Whitney’s when in the area. You won’t be disappointed. 

The breakfast is worth it as well.

Whitney’s is a Jewel.

Great location! We rented the top floor apartment but there was a problem with the room when we arrived they INSTANTLY made our stay 1000% better and put us on cottage #1, it was perfect! The beds were very comfortable, the bathtub and bathroom area were great, the fridge kept our food cold and the fire pit and patio table was a great space since we had our kids with us (ages 3 and 8 yr old twins). 
The pool was very refreshing and we were the only ones in it one day and another older couple the next day we visited. The pond area has a swing set, boats, worms and fishing poles. 
We hope to visit next year! Don't miss out on Jackson falls for some swimming too!

Perfect getaway! 

Just spent 4 days at the Inn, and we all found it to be just what we needed (me, my grown daughter, and her 8 year old son).  We stayed in room 27 in the Liftline Lodge and found it clean and plenty big for us.  I especially liked the little porches off the living rooms to just sit and look at the mountains...the air was so clean!  A special shout-out to our housekeeper, Chris, who greeted us in the hall  and told us to tell her if there was anything we needed.  When we mentioned a couple more towels and coffees, she immediately came back with an armful of everything!  Very friendly and easy-going.  OH, and she was also our waitress in the morning for breakfast, and she made sure we had enough to eat!  We will be back again for sure...

Just got back!

My husband & I had been traveling & camping for two weeks and wanted to treat ourselves to a couple of nights in a "quaint country inn." The inn was charming and the dining room overlooked a horse pasture & pretty gardens and scenery. A few issues made our stay less than 5-stars. The tv did not work when we arrived, and it took three people, a call to the tech person, and two replacement tvs to get it working. I would have expected some form of compensation for the inconvenience. (Normally, watching TV wouldn't be important, but we had been on the road and looking forward to catching up on news & sports.) After a long day of traveling, we were looking forward to eating at the on-site pub, only to find out when we arrived that it was closed. The inn provided a list of other restaurants, all requiring a drive & none delivered. We were tired and didn't feel like driving again. Luckily, we travel with snacks.  A notice about limited pub hours on the website would have been helpful. (If they have a wedding booked, the pub might not be open to the public at all. I don't recall seeing that information on the website.) We would have eaten before our arrival. (We did eat at the pub the next night and enjoyed our meals.) The room had no coffee maker, so in the morning, I went to the dining room to find a couple cups of coffee. Apparently, our room, Classic Queen #3, is the only room without a coffee maker. The room itself was small, which you would expect from an historic inn, but it could use an extra side table or desk or even a shelf or extra hooks on the walls. There was little space to put your stuff & the tv took all the space on top of the dresser. Breakfast was delicious both mornings, and the staff was pleasant and friendly. The room we stayed in was one of the less expensive for the area, so maybe the lesson is you get what you pay for.

Cute, historic, country inn

Nice, quiet with lots of character.  This is an old fashioned inn.  Stayed in a classic room.   Bed and TV.  Bathroom was large, which was nice.  Cozy.  Grounds are huge and a nice quiet place to stroll.  Breakfast is excellent and definitely worth it!
The pub was closed during the week,  so we weren't able to eat there.  Visited the little farm next door and formed a bond with a friendly pig.  Thank you!

Nice, quiet and clean.

Inn is in a pretty area.  We stayed in the cottage.  Definitely mixed.  Beds were comfortable.  Rooms were small  as was bathroom. Dated living area and TV.  Probably a good place to stay if skier as close to ski sloops.  But for us, there are much nicer places to stay for the same money.

Whitney's Inn

Three of us headed to the Farmhouse dining room at Whitney's for dinner after MWVAA's Art in the Park on Sunday Evening.  It was fabulous! We started with drinks & a spinach & artichoke dip which was VERY cheesey and accompanied by freshly made chips.  The full rack of blueberry-maple glazed ribs was enormous and perfectly fall-off-the-bone done.  The filet mignon with bearnaise sauce was cooked precicely to order and outstanding.  The baked haddock was also thoroughly enjoyed.  We were happily surpised with al dente cooked lightly seasoned  broccoli although the menu said "vegetable medley," and were happy to NOT have the standard zucchini-summer squash-carrotmedley yet again this weekend!  We finished with the vanilla creme brulee topped with fresh blueberries & a sliced strawberry and it was perfectly cooked- thick & not runny at all.  Our waitress, Julie, was welcoming, attentive, and fun and added to our enjoyment of a fine dinner.  It's a little out of the way, but definitely worth the trip and is a hidden gem!
