We booked here during Jazz feast to be close to the quarter, it looked like (and cost like) a great place. The real shame is that this could be a lovely place, but it’s not. 
Our room was not clean. With dusty build up on the curtains, the ceiling fan, and light fixtures  and  grime on the bathroom walls.
The furniture which I think was supposed to be antique was nothing but old and rickety. 
Although the property is secure, when we walked around the neighborhood looking for a place to eat we realized we were just a few blocks from a homeless encampment. After going into the quarter which is also just a few blocks the other direction we had a nice meal. Still the Uber driver who brought us back that evening warned us not to be out at night in the neighborhood. 

We left the next morning and found  a much nicer place. That was also less expensive.

Do NOT waste your money staying here

I booked here because my favorite bnbs were all booked and this place has 5 stars on TripAdvisor. Perhaps it was just a fluke, but the place was deserted when I arrived. I found my room. It had been cleaned but wasn't clean. It had an old fireplace with dirt and ashes in the bottom of it and the place smelled of old smoke. I let the owners know but received no reply. The info coming from the owners before I arrived was impersonal and transactional, something I did not expect with a NOLA bnb. With great difficulty, trying many places, I finally found another place to stay. It was worth my peace of mind to leave knowing I would not get my money back.

Uneasy in this place

This was our first time in this very expensive city . We both enjoyed and loved New Orleans. However we were extremely disappointed they did not have veterans discounts for any of the several attractons #steamboatNatchez

New Orleans: Evening Jazz Cruise on the Steamboat Natchez

Location is good. Dirty throw rug in bathroom. Brown stains on sheets and dried white spots on comforter. Tv didn’t not work. Called vic who’s very rude and disrespectful, told us he would refund 100% and we could get out! I called booking to report this misleading Slave quarters Norman Bates motel n try to get refund No was able to contact by email or phone. Brought sheets from Walmart pay the extra $$ go some where else. No breakfast ! No front office ! No living room! Hope you enjoy your stay some where else.

Vacation

Firstly, this hotel is in a good location. Within walking distance to most places we wanted to see in New Orleans. The coded gates to get in make it feel safe and secure and finding it (even though it doesn’t have a sign) parking and getting into our room was easy. 

The suite itself was alright (Bolden) a few stains here and there and bits and pieces left over from previous guests (drinks and shower gels etc) but it is roomy and comfortable. 

We were sent codes to let ourselves in and didn’t see any staff, which is fine. My only worry was that we were sent the codes quite far in advance so not sure how regularly they are changed. 

We received no housekeeping for the four nights we were here, it wasn’t a massive problem as we had been left plenty of towels and toilet paper etc but just felt a bit left to our own devices. In fact we didn’t see a single member of staff for the whole weekend then Monday morning while we were still in bed a girl (I’m guessing a cleaner) tried to let herself in our room. She was surprised to see us there and didn’t come back to clean our room so I’m guessing she thought we’d left and just comes to clean after guests have finished their stay. 

Also, the WiFi does not work!! 

This place could be fantastic with a few improvements but overall left us a bit disappointed.

Good location but could be better.

We stayed during Carnival season for a bachelorette party. We had 13 girls and rented the "Grand Trio" group of cottages, which is the Kermit, Connick and the Fountain. 

The place was clean and neat, but needed some attention. There were beers left in the mini fridge from whomever stayed there before (not really a problem). Some lightbulbs were out, and I'm not sure enough toilet paper was stocked in all of the bathrooms. The hot tub area was a bit messy from the night before when we checked in, but it was cleaned up before that evening. We really only needed the bare minimum for our trip, and that's what we got: bedrooms and bathrooms.

The host was great about checking in with us throughout our stay to see if we needed anything. He even kept us abreast of parades that were happening nearby. We had people arriving and leaving at weird hours, but the host was extremely flexible with check-in/out hours, which was much appreciated. He also approved us to bring in outside bartenders for a welcome party we threw on our first night in town. 

The grounds and cottages themselves had lots of character and really had a level of authenticity that matched the neighborhood, which I enjoyed. I had read mixed reviews on the neighborhood Treme, but found it to be quite nice and pretty quiet. We were within easy walking to the French Quarter and being right next to Armstrong Park was great for the few of us who wanted early morning strolls. I recommend heading a few blocks north to the Treme Coffeehouse if you're an earlybird looking for a cafe au lait nearby.

I would definitely recommend this place to the low-maintenance traveler who likes to spend their vacations exploring the city.

Perfect for our low-key bachelorette group

No-one else was staying here whilst we were there and now I know why. This is tired, rundown and messy. The wifi does not work. The rooms are very overpriced. The owners do not respond to email and did not respond to our complaints at the property. Very disappointed as this was my holiday getaway but instead we had to pay more money to move hotels to get wifi to allow my husband to work. Avoid staying here.

Overpriced and poor facilities

There is no doubt about the links between the city and Jazz. Taking advantage of it you can really feel the music and start an vintage trip to the origins of creole music and jazz including street dancing.
Visit the place and drift away!

Jazz Square, what s place

This was a family vacation of two parents and two boys (30 and 25 years old) from Sunday through Saturday. We were celebrating the graduation of our 25-year-old who'd spent some time in New Orleans a few years back in the lower ninth district as a service project. We were specifically looking for a suite with two bedrooms.

The location of the Jazz Quarter is nice. It is a quick walk to N Rampart Street which has a street car line.

It has a nice feel. There is a central courtyard and typically the weather was nice to sit outside in the morning and read or whatever.

When we arrived, our original room (Connick) wasn’t ready so we spent 3 nights in the Al Hirt suite. This was very roomy with two bedrooms one with two double beds and the other with two queens. Perfect for us. The layout was a little weird, however, with only one full bath off the queens so everyone had to travel through the bedroom to shower. Also, from the queens you had to walk through the double. Fine for us but maybe a little weird if you were with friends instead of family.

There is a large dining area with wonderful light that looks onto central patio and parking area. Great place to gather (where we watched the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the ALDS). Also attached to the dining area was a commercial kitchen. In the old days, breakfast was probably cooked and served here. There was a small half-bath off the dining room.

If your an animal lover, there were dogs barking at various times throughout the day and night best heard in the king bedroom.

Half way through our stay we switched to the Connick rooms.

A bit of a letdown with cramped quarters with no chairs or desk (or room for either) but with the requisite two bedrooms with one king and another with two doubles.The bathroom was conveniently located in between the bedrooms.

The coffee maker was located in the bedroom with doubles so we moved the coffee maker to bathroom.

The patio was not well maintained but still a great space to relax.

The WiFi did not work in Connick.

The door to the doubles really sticks. I was always worried I was going to break it. We use this door a lot as the other bedroom lock to the king didn’t work.

The king bed was also a little like NOLA with a canal (dip) in the middle and levees on the sides. The bed sheet had a hole as did a towel.

As with all old buildings, not enough outlets. Also, both rooms a little too dark.

TV in king was small and did not get cable. The other TV did work fine.

The house staff was very helpful.

A little pricey but everything is in and around the French Quarter.

Special Place in French Quarter

A beautiful place that captures the history of the cross-cultural ensemble between its walls, it is definitely a place that falls in love with its musical content in a romantic and passionate setting.
