Convenient  location, about 20 minutes from French Quarter. Good options with the public transprot: two street cars near to accommodation (St. Charles street car and Union Passanger Terminal street car).
 A lot of restaurants around, an overpriced supermarket about 10 minutes on foot 
Weak, unstable Wi-Fi (basically non-existent WiFi). 
Unsafe neigborhood, street in dire conditions, lot of homeless people at the end of the street.

Convenient location, poor Wi-Fi

If your looking for home feel,comfortable beds and historic features this is your place. The wife and I were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and wanted to bring the new years in New Orleans. We found this super awesome bed and breakfast with great prices and down the street from everything there is to do only a shot walk to lil stores and historical history even the World War II museum is right down the street. The place was super clean the staff member on site was able to accommodate us in every way we’re extremely happy with the service that was provided. We will definitely be staying here again.

This place is by far the best place to stay at. The beds are unbelievable, so comfortable. The place is well maintained, super clean, friendly staff. You are blocks away from everything to do. Worth every penny. Will definitely be going back.

Amazing place to stay!!!!

This is a private residence converted into a hotel, so I didn't feel like a guest; I felt like a local living in a historic home.  The parlor, the kitchen, the bedroom, even the stairway.  Made me feel like I'd lived here for years.  Fair warning: it's not on a great street.  Don't walk on Clio Street at night, and don't drive on it faster than 10mph; it's a morass of gravel and potholes.  But that's the extent of the bad report, folks: the rest is all good.  Even walking on Clio Street is OK during the day, and there are good destinations a-plently (like Mr. Ed's Oyster Bar and the St Charles Streetcar) within easy walking distance.

The service staff was nearly invisible; that was weird.  But the room and downstairs were well-maintained, so I guess they come by often enough.

This place is a winner.

Lovely boarding house type location, very clean, very reasonably priced. I enjoyed my stay there, and the housekeeper was wonderful. I needed a room for the night, and this spot did not disappoint. I would recommend.

Great price and vibe 

If you are looking for a traditional big box style hotel, W.G. Creole House 1850 is not for you.  But if you are a bit of an explorer who follows a different path so to speak, then this is the place to stay.    Your host, Melissa, is just the best in every way she welcomes and takes care of guests.   A beautiful Victorian-style house with a shared living room and kitchen, soft jazz playing upon your entrance.    Some things may be non-traditional - for instance several of the rooms have the bathroom entrance adjacent.    I personally find it the best of all worlds - with the intimacy and peace and quiet of having a small handful of rooms vs. the busyness of more conventional accommodations - Melissa is a true gem - and on top of it rates are reasonable - half or less of what many hotels charge.   What more can you say....

What a great way to experience New Orleans.

From the moment I arrived at the WG Creole House, I was pleasantly surprised. Melissa the staff member who greeted me was so kind and personable, and the house was incredibly clean and so beautiful. The room I stayed in (Trolley Stop Executive Suite) was spacious, immaculate, and very culturally rich! I had a seamless, perfect experience at the Creole House and I am truly shocked that it was so affordable for how nice the house is. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans and I will most certainly be back!!!

Unbelievably comfortable and enjoyable experience!

Affordable but stunningly beautiful Victorian-style house, within walking distance of the CBD and French Quarter.

The house itself was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. We stayed in the Canopy room upstairs, which has a private detached bathroom off the hallway. Melissa the innkeeper was a true delight, and Travis was very responsive to text message. A late-arriving flight (~1am) was not a problem, as the outer door, room door, and bathroom door all operated by keycode. We were also able to leave our luggage in the downstairs closet after checkout, which made our last afternoon in New Orleans a lot easier. Thank you!

Overall we couldn’t be happier with the place! We’d gladly stay here again and really can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful house, impeccably clean, very affordable, fantastic staff

This property is walking distance from the trolley and good restaurants. I recommend this place for either a short or a long stay. If you have a car, you park on the street for free. The bed has a good mattress and feather pillows. The shower is super.

Nicely appointed, quiet and comfortable

My husband and I booked our private room with en suite (Executive Room) at Creole House for a mid-week stay because of the very reasonable price we found on Trivago through Agoda, and its proximity to the St Charles trolley stop (two blocks down, two blocks over). We were not disappointed. The house is historic but updated where it counts (bath, kitchen). Our private/executive room is large, with a King bed, refrigerator for your restaurant leftovers or beverages, and is very clean. The house is beautifully decorated, with a grand staircase and living room. We sipped our morning coffee with the sun streaming through the tall lovely windows in the living room. Coffee/tea on hand to make for yourself in the kitchen. There is keyless entry codes to the house and our room, and we met the helpful innkeeper at one point but not other guests., so it felt like we had the place to ourselves.
We liked the location because of being a 5 minute trolley-ride away from our self-guided Garden District walking tour, which we found by googling online, and 10-minute trolley ride to the end of Bourbon St., or trolley transfer to points beyond. Also the house is in walking distance to the WWII Nat'l Museum which Tom Hanks had a small hand in establishing. We recommend transferring from the onto the Riverfront trolley to its end/French Market stop, and find the gems in the Marigny area and then work your way back into the French Quarter).
We recommend the WG Creole House to anyone looking for quiet, tasteful, charming, off-the beaten-track but close to public transport accommodation. 

Booking-wise, we found this option much less expensive than Airbnbs and hotels. In our case, the extra fees (NOLA hotel tax and Agoda booking/service fees) were $ 21 above room/stay/list price, compared to $100+ for airbnb for cleaning etc.
