The rooms here were sizeable enough: they had a TV and were well cared for.  The water, including the shower, was lukewarm at best, making showering rather difficult.  There was also no shampoo.  The staff was very helpful: they brought us 2 extra towels and a blanket promptly when we asked for them.  Note: only 2 towels are provided per room.  They had no swimming pool, but then this was a small community.  Breakfast was one of 3 meals at the local diner (on the other side of the inn) or $3 off a meal.  The inn and the diner share some banquet rooms – they’re small but nice.
A few things of note: ask for a room at the back of the hotel since you can hear the traffic on the road in the front rooms.  Saturday evening some kind of fiesta seemed to be held in the parking lot, possibly by local people, until after midnight, and it got a little loud.  Also, the intersection the hotel is near gets super busy at certain times of the day and you’ll have a struggle getting in and out of the parking lot during those times.  There is also no other hotel in the vicinity.  Overall it’s not a bad choice if you need a place to stay in Cross Keys area, but know it’s basic and you may have a few difficulties.

Basic

I stayed here with my son for a week while waiting for an apartment. The outside of the hotel should have been a dead giveaway. People gather at the front and rear entrance smoking and drinking. The trash piles up at the rear door where people hang out on the steps. The lobby smelled bad, the stairwell leading to the top floor to our room smelled like a dead animal or old decayed meat and the hallway where our room was located reeked of stale cigarette smoke so thick you could taste it. The bedspreads had cigarette holes in them as well. I wasunable to access wifi and was told I shouldnt have a problem, the hotel has wifi. ?? The cleaning ladies are to clean the rooms every day or ever other, period. That alone should tell you something about the company they take in. After two days I had decided I needed to get us ut of there but the manager was only willing to give me $16 of my $283 that I paid for the week. I also looked at the safety inspection site and found that the restaurant has been in health violation multiple times. The kitchen help came through the lobby of the hotel with a large bag of garbage and walked it out to the trash, he left a trail of liquid behind and didn't clean it up when he came back through. The rooms were way over priced. This is the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Don't waste your time or money. This is definitely NOT a family hotel.

NOT a "Family Hotel"! RUN!

This hotel is in a great area but it's an old, dark and dingy hotel and is in great need of upgrading and brightening up. Everything in the hotel is dark, the walls, floors,ceilings and carpets! The rooms are good size and in good condition. For some reason they're very frugal with room amenities, we only had one bar of soap and one bottle of shampoo. On the second day we had to go get more soap and shampoo! The price for the room is too high for this grade of hotel, it should have been $20 to $25 less a night.

Find a better place

my room was clean and well maintained. There were plenty of towels and great maid service. Even the water pressure wasn't too bad. Strangely that has been a problem at some pricier places I have stayed. The price was cheap and it came with free breakfast.

Rm. 132 the hallway and room was filthy and smelly.  Looks like the carpets hadn't been cleaned in years.  Worst place I've ever seen.  Looks and smells like something from an inner-city slum.  We luckily were able to get our money back and stayed elsewhere.

Was very nice, quiet, clean motel. We enjoyed our stay for 7 days had a very good stay highly recommend. Would stay there again house keepers were very nice. Air conditioning was good, my dog even liked it there.

Nice Motel

They still allow smoking rooms. So guess where we were, right next to it. Gross. The lobby smelled, the upstairs hall smelled but thankfully our room didn't. The night lady was great and even gave us an air purifier. The morning guy on Sunday, not so helpful. I had gone for a run. And the room only had two towels and my kids used them last night so I needed another. After my run I asked him for one at 6:30. He said that the cleaning people don't come till 7:00. I said " really??? You don't know where they are?" So he rolled his eyes and got me one. Rude.
