The hotel has a restaurant attached with a magnificent view of Seneca Lake.
We must have been here at the wrong time- 6:30 on a Saturday night. The server may have not had much help as service was poor. Food came out lukewarm and the ice tea was cloudy- like a weak chocolate milk.

The Grill at Hotel Laurel at Seneca in Watkins Glenn

This is a small-ish drive-up motel. Appears recently refurbished, clean, comfy and while we were there, it was quiet. Typically, we stay at more modern hotels, but I'd stay here again. Don't expect lush accommodations as it isn't that type of place. Overall, it's a nice place to stay for a night or two & you will have a gorgeous view outside your window. A balcony was there but we didn't have a chance to go out on it.

My wife and I came to this area for a relaxing 3 day getaway. This hotel provided us with a great view of Seneca Lake from both our room's large picture window and also from the covered balcony. We spent a majority of our time there out on that balcony just enjoying the scenery. It's also located just outside of Watkins Glen so  an easy ride to stores and restaurants. A great price for the room also meant it did have some shortcomings. The shower made you wait for the hot water to show up and then though hot, not much flow. Any more flow and it would leak out past the opening into the room. As others have mentioned there is no place to put your items in the shower. Inconvenient, but we managed. The king bed was very comfortable with nice pillows. The staff was friendly and efficient. We will definitely consider this place when in the area again!

Nothing fancy but well worth the money!

The room is very nice and our dinner was delicious.  The view from the room is very nice.  Dinner was delicious.  We ordered a strawberry burrata salad, French fries with poutine and chicken gravy, and split a cheeseburger.  They recently opened the restaurant and the service was also very good!

The Hotel Laurel - Nice property!

Spent a weekend here to visit some wineries in the area. The room that we were given was located directly next to the housekeeping room and their garbage. Our porch area was the bottom level, view was great except the BUGS. You can tell that they are trying to update the hotel but missing many key upgrades. The gravel driveway/parking areas have potholes big enough to eat a small car. Rooms smell due to new paint and no ventilation.

The front doors to the room are wooden and so old that you could literally see the light from the outside come in from the gap to the outside.  So then BUGS started crawling in. Bugs in the bathroom, floors, in the bed, walls. The bathroom door is old so it would not properly close. They finally changed us to another room which still had a gap in the front door so the bugs in that room were just...smaller. The new room had garbage in it from the previous visitors. The wooden floor in the suite area had not been mopped and had some red residue on the floor. Thank god everything else was clean. For the price and location we were super disappointed. Need to upgrade all of the doors, put vents in the bathroom, fix pot holes. Hopefully the hotel is better in a year or so...
