Maybe in its day it was nice, in fact it looks like it’s from the forties or fifties. We were only looking for a inexpensive place to sleep. Room is out dated with no more extras. Very poorly lit. Bathroom had tiny nat like bugs. I can’t see having a wedding there. No breakfast or coffee. If you are only looking to sleep it might be fine but not spend your anniversary. I would not stay again. 

If you are just looking to sleep 

This is a family owned resort and John and Jim  along with their parents go out of there way to accomadate all your needs. I went 2x over this summer and my husband is in a wheelchair. They went out of their way to make sure my husband and I had the best time. Rooms that are accessible, dining to fit his motorized wheelchair and the entertainment part they made sure he was able to participate in all of it. The social director Larry is great and makes each day wonderful. Food is awesome and plentiful.. Already made arrangements to go back. After spending 51 years at a resort ( which closed) John, Jim and Larry made sure we felt welcomed in our new Acra Manor home. One suggestion is would love to see blinds on the windows of the rooms near the pool instead of the curtains. Fun is what you make of it and we had lots of it. Rooms may be a little dated but they are clean and that's part of the experience..who stays in the room anyway except to sleep.

Great people and great place

Acra Manor is something right out of a time machine. Is it dated? Yes. Is it super fancy? No. Will you have fun, build memories and TALK with your family? Absolutely. 
We had som much fun on all the fun adventures Larry planned- from visiting the creek, to shuffleboard, to that blast-from-the-past roller skating rink- the kids were engaged and off their phones. 
Look- if you have tons of $$$ and want fancy- this ain’t it. But if you are a hard working family and gotta bunch of kids in tow like we do- it is perfect. We will definitely be back!

Awesome Family Vacation!

John and his family run a nice resort with fantastic customer service! The staff is friendly and willing to help with any anything. There are lots of activities to do. Larry is a fun social director. The resort has a few things that can be improved upon but is great for the price and customer service!

if closer place would have left.Not one decent room,oversprayed,rug dirty,damp,actually disgusting.sliver of soap,no frills at all Said renovated rooms not where we were.8AM coffee,etc not open as ad.

I always have a great time, while I was reading other's reviews I was sickened with one I read, Now this is my Opinion Only. Did he really stay at the same Place Acra Manor Resort th\at I go to every year in July??? Can I tell you all about the fun we have, Lawn games and Bingo and Lcr they are for everybody kids and adults, Karaoke is also for kids and Adults, I have a friend who's husband sang with his daughter at Karaoke. and Family night of games is exactly what you and your kids play,  all the fun and crazy games, musical chairs, hot potatoes and more. The climbing wall is real, it has a different side for your ability, Easy, Medium and Hard. my kids rock the climbing wall they have had years of experience we have been coming back since 2012. My kids enjoy having their freedom to do things they want to do and Acra Manor has a great Social Director, he takes them by van to places outside  off the pre4misis to the water park and yes you do pay a fee for the water park called Zoom Flume, Nowhere does it say Acra will pay your way, but they do give you a discount when you get there After many hours of play the family gets together in the dining room, and yes it's like one great big family, you spend a week and see the friends you make and you all keep coming back year after year. The meals are great I stayed a whole week and I have over the years tried many of the meals. You do get 4 choices, how many do you really need????? Everything is cooked to perfection, the cook is outstanding I recommend the steak sirloin with beans and mash potatoes the steak was so tender it melts in your mouth. We have had the penne ala vodka, Penn with sausage, The blackened catfish the eggplant parm the eggplant stack, The buffet on Wednesday night is my favorite, corn on the cob, homemade salads, RIBS that fall off the bone they are so tender, Fettuccine Alfredo, mussels  chicken wings, you name we ate it. If you had a problem with not being able to eat anything that was there as my girlfriend  wanted sauteed veggies, yup she's a vegetarian, the chef cooked her a pasta primavera with broccoli, carrots, green beans OMG!!! it looked  so good,  The desserts table had a spread of pies, cakes, pudding, and jello if there was something you wanted like ice cream they would get it for you. The Family that runs this place have been doing it for more than 40 years, they treat you like friends, like they have known you for years, and they welcome you back year after year with smiles and hugs.  This is our place to go to meet up with our friend we have made here over the years don't believe me go try it out and then decide,  2012 was our first and won't be our last its now 2018 and we are still coming back for more. Very happy

I always go back for MORE!!!!!!

After all the excitement of the rally it was great coming back to a relaxing place where the entire staff know you make you feel like your a part of their family at night threw the weekend they set up  a wonderful bon  fire they had a fantastic breakfast no line very calm the bar is cozy and nostalgic this place is third generation family run and family oriented the place reminds  me of the movie dirty dancing you can make life long friends here I can't say that about any other placed we ever stayed can't wait to come back thanks for another year of fun    the gray family

Catskill mountain thunder motorcycle rally

I have been coming here since I was a child and more recently my husband and I started coming up just the two of us and we'll keep up the tradition. The food is excellent great for families and couples looking for a little rest and relaxation plenty to do on and off premises. The social director is a gem we always have a good time see you next year!

Lova acra!

I just got home today after another fun-filled two week vacation.  This resort has truly become my family's home away from home.  Aside from the huge portions of delicious food that's offered, the owners are incredibly sweet and accommodating.  The staff are courteous and helpful and the social activities at this resort are fun as there is always something to do. The Social Director has a way of bringing the guests together, taking us from strangers upon arrival to friends upon departure.  I have made so many friends at Acra and look forward to knowing I'll see them every summer.  This was my 6th year at Acra Manor and I cannot wait until next year, when I get another chance to return to this place that has become a second home.

Home Away From Home!

My family has been going for years. Bar none the best family resort in the Catskills. Clean rooms,top notch food,Veal,steak,shrimp. The stuffed pork chop, unbelievable.Larry the social director has non stop activities. I highly recommend Acra to all.
