Great Motel! We stayed here for our annual trip to Saratoga Race Track and we were very happy! It is only about 10-15 minutes from the track. Everything you could need is on this road from a deli for sandwiches for the track, restaurants, convenience store and Dairy Haus for ice cream which became a nightly thing for us! 

While the rooms are a little small bit that is only due to the fact that there are 2 beds. Even still my husband and i found it plenty big enough for us! The AC worked great and there was a fridge/freezer as well as a microwave all of which are fairly new! The rooms are small but are CLEAN! The owners clean the rooms themselves leaving nothing forgotten and supply the bathroom essentials! Coffee and donuts in the am is a plus and owners, Gail and Jeff are the sweetest! They gave us good directions and suggestions. We have finally found our annual spot to stay! If are looking for a great no frills motel that has what you need and is CLEAN!!!! This is the place to stay! Thanks Gail and Jeff!

Great Find!

I usually only post good reviews, but after what was done to us this weekend I need to let future visitors know to NEVER EVER BOOK HERE! They canceled our reservation with no warning, no call, no consent or heads up of any kind!! We pulled up to check in on the day we were scheduled to and were told our room was given away with no warning. We were 5 hours away from home with nowhere to stay or go and were left stranded...the worst feeling ever. I booked our room back in OCTOBER 2022 after having stayed there the previous June and received full email confirmation. The rooms nearly doubled in price in the year since we had been there, but clearny no renovations of any type have been done in nearly 25 years. We are creatures of habit and thought they were trustworthy to book again, but boy were we wrong. The owner was extremely aggressive, unprofessional, confrontational, flippant, and rude. They double booked our room and lied saying that we never showed up. I have a paper trail to prove our reservation was scheduled properly, we were to check in on Saturday June 17 with a Monday June 19 checkout. Upon arriving at 3:PM the day of check in the owner lied to my face saying we were a no show the day prior (not even when we booked for) and they gave away our room! We were confirmed to stay Saturday - Monday! They screwed everything up and instead of attempting to be kind, apologetic, or helpful in any way shape or form to a woman in tears the owner decided to get loud with someone they just ripped off, basically throwing us out. I was told to leave because there was no room for us anymore and nothing was going to change. Even if they screwed up the reservation on their schedule the room could have been paid for both nights by us and never should have been given away. On the reservation they had my cell phone number to contact me if they had concerns or questions of any kind. I have NEVER experienced this level of unprofessionalism, and inappropriateness from any business anywhere. This man would not even speak to us and told me my email confirmation was obsolete because he had already given away our room and nothing was going to change. We considered calling the police on this man for this fraudulent reservation and aggression but left in a hurry because he wouldn’t even let my poor husband use the restroom after being in the car for 5 hours. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau already and have informed my credit card to not accept any fraudulent charges from these criminals. Shout out to the Inn at Saratoga for hooking us up and saving the day with a discounted room, free breakfast, and free drinks due to this incredible inconvenience. The McGregor Inn’s reputation precedes them. Don’t make the mistake of trusting this place because clearly they do not honor any reservations made and are just money grabbing scammers. Horrible sketchy people, horrible sketchy place.

We were just travelling through and found the McGregor Inn from an on-line search.   Great little place with clean room and comfortable beds.  The owners were super friendly and helpful with dinner recommendations.   Great morning coffee and bakery made danish for the road were a nice finish.   Highly recommended!

Clean, quiet, comfy and priced right.

This motel was the CLEANEST!  The owners are so accommodating, the stay was wonderful & it felt like home away from home!  I would recommend for anyone looking to stay around the area, we will be back! ☺️

Wonderful place to stay!

Spent 3 nights while going to the track @ Saratoga. Jeff & Gail, great folks who own the place. Relaxing & clean. Park in front of your room. A dream spot right out of the 70’s. 
Couldn’t be more perfect. 4 great resturant s close by.

Great quiet & very clean roadside motel.

I just finished a 10 day stay here, and I will be returning. Do not pay more when this has all you need. You are just 3 minutes from Saratoga and those more pricey accomodations. If you need a spotless, quaint and quiet room, comfy beds, and all the other amenities the pricier brands offer, I suggest you book your room here, relax and enjoy. A quaint pub, Italisn pizzeria and coffee shops are so close, but not too close. No disappointments here. Thanks, Jeff and Gail.

A Gem Near Saratoga

...There's no place better than one that feels like home. This spot is a home away from home - warm. welcoming (the proprietors are friendly, helpful and good gardeners) and the motel checks all the boxes for me - unpretentious, affordable (especially for horse season in Saratoga), spotlessly clean (all seems refurbished/new), spacious, and has everything in the room - fridge, microwave, lots of hangers, etc. - to make my stay comfortable. Beautiful manicured grounds, close to everything.... A model for the perfect, modest family-owned and operated motel. Another reason to avoid the big chains!  A most satisfying stay, and my new go-to spot in Saratoga.

Be it ever so humble....

McGregor Inn Motel is very clean, neat and well organized.   The rooms are small, but you have all that is necessary.  The surrounding grounds are nicely landscaped.  It's a great value.   I would recommend this motel to everyone and I'll stay here again!

Great value!

Gail and Jeff are incredibly helpful, courteous, and gracious hosts. They have not only their motel rooms, but also a little apartment posted through Airbnb that is wonderful. I stayed for 5+ weeks and it was clean, quiet, and relaxing. It's 10/15 minutes from downtown Saratoga and tons of food, just far enough to have peace and quiet. Loved my experience in Saratoga staying at the McGregor Inn Motel.

What a great place to be!

We stayed here for two nights while our family was at a meeting at The Embassy
Suites. The room was comfortable and clean and it had a bigger than average fridge with a separate freezer compartment. There was also a microwave. 
The owners were very nice and were helpful when asked. They gave us great directions for a playground. We had an issue that they quickly resolved and they gave us a discount for our next visit. The price was right. It was not fancy, but we spent most of our visit with our family.
