Lovely place to stay.  Very clean and cozy.  Close to all the shops and restaurants, short walk to to town. Owners go above and beyond to assist you.  Breakfast is excellent.  Landscaping is beautifully done.

Beautiful Place Historic Hill Inn

My sister and I were in search of charm for sure, but we ALSO needed a room with TWO beds, which can be hard to find in historic and charming inns in New England, but find it we did . . .  and so much more at Historic Hill Inn, which we LOVED!  We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment on the first floor of the inn, with its own private entrance. It was a fabulous experience, in and IDEAL location at an incredibly reasonable price with wonderful innkeepers who were super welcoming and helpful.  The suite itself was roomy and incredible with two private, beautifully appointed rooms with comfy queen beds, a living room, TWO bathrooms and a kitchen/seating area with small fridge, hot water pot, microwave, etc. The beds were comfortable, the bedding wonderful, great pillows, fluffy towels. air conditioning if needed, a living room for hanging out, full of charming antiques, it just could not have been better for our purposes.  AND PARKING (very hard to come by in Newport!). The location was incredible. Just a few blocks from the habour,  main wharves, shopping, restaurant area, in one direction and also walkable to the Cliff Walk and the beach in the other direction, not to mention a block from an historic park. The innkeepers are super knowledgeable and passionate about the area, and full of suggestions about what to do. Breakfast in the dining room of t5his 1839 historic home was very nice, as was absolutely EVERTHING about our stay here. Can't recommend the 2BR apartment highly enough. Didn't see the rooms in the main inn itself, but I'm sure they were great also.  Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again!!!! Location, hospitality, accommodations and ammenities were all exceptional 

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Wow!  Our room was absolutely beautiful - spotlessly clean and supplied with little extras.  Very professionally run - they know what they're doing.  The house is gorgeous and we were served a great breakfast.  Parking on site.  Walking distance to restaurants and waterfront. Absolutely loved this place!!  I so admire people who do their jobs so well!

Wow!!  Beautiful room/house - great location

We chose Historic Hill inn as our “home base” for a long weekend getaway in Newport, and we were glad we did. Donna and Richard are great hosts, but they also have a great wealth of knowledge about the local food and attractions. We had certain things that we planned on doing, but we found that with the enthusiastic advice of our hosts, we were able to add more things to the list, and really enjoyed our time in Newport MORE than we would have without their hospitality & genuine appreciation of the great city of Newport.

Historic Hill inn

This was our first visit to Newport and what is not to love?! We booked about 4 weeks in advance and with not knowing much about the area I just knew I wanted to be within walking distance of everything. More of the modern hotels by the harbor were way out of our budget. Historic Hill Inn was so reasonably price for its location! It is in the middle of Pelham St which leads in one direction to Thames St and the Harbor and in the other direction towards Bellevue Ave, Memorial Blvd, the Tennis Hall of Fame, Cliffwalk etc. Can't get any better than this!! Also, the parking is included with a very easy lot to pull in and out of so you could come and go as you please!! It was great to not have to worry about parking near the busy harbor but we could easily take our car our to the beach or ocean drive whenever we wanted!

Our room was very cozy and well decorated for the historic time period of the home. We had a very nice sized bathroom with a jetted tub which was a highlight for me! Every morning there was a continental breakfast with bagels, pastries, quiche, fruit, yogurt coffee and tea! We really enjoyed this and it was a great way to start the day for us and another added bonus to our reasonably priced room! 

Donna was so kind and hospitable and gave great restaurant recommendations and advice on where to go around town! Every day she had fresh towels for us, emptied our trash and provided us with anything we needed. 

Last but not least, the Historic Hill Inn is extremely clean! It may not be the most modern decor but had everything we needed with its parking, location, cleanliness, and great hospitality! I definitely recommend!

Lovely Stay and first visit to Newport

We were fortunate enough to visit Newport and stay at the Historic Hill Inn. Donna and Richard are special hosts who enjoy their guests.   First, the house in sparkling clean, beautifully decorated with attention to historic detail. They serve a generous breakfast with many choices in a charming dining area.  If you need some help with restaurant choices or local attractions, they will gladly help you and all within walking distance.  This accommodation is a home run in many ways.   Enjoy, we did!!  

Super Spot

Great place with lots of charm and so centrally located! We had a wonderful room (number 2) and the owners really went out of their way to be helpful. If you're looking for something different, with charm and style, this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience

I cannot say enough about how nice our stay was at this charming 19th century B&B.  When we arrived the proprietor Donna sat down with us with a map to point out all the great things to do in Newport.  We were so impressed, we immediately decided to stay for 2 nights.  Donna mentioned two restaurants that had specials for dinner (Benjamin’s and Sardella’s) that are outstanding.  She also recommended the mansion tours.  If you are near Newport, you have to visit these mansions!  And topped the day off with a late afternoon ride along Ocean Drive.  This was a two week road trip for us, and the visit to Newport was a highlight for sure.  We stayed in the one bedroom apartment with the separate entrance.  Wonderful!  The breakfast is limited but most definitely try the spinach quiche.  Within walking distance to the bustling harbor area, if in the area I will definitely stay here again. 

A Wonderful Stay at this Bed & Breakfast

Hotel class of the hosts and breakfast, New England home feeling of the bedroom. We just loved it. Only a few minutes walk away from the middle of Newport with restaurangs, shops and the port. Easy to part and find.

Perfect B&B i beautiful Newport

We were just there for one night due to a graduation in the area. We were so happy to have chanced upon the Historic Hill Inn online.  We had the suite and also got to see another room as our daughter-in-law stayed in a regular room.  Both areas were clean and charming and the owner Donna was fantastic and helpful. The location allows a quick walk to the downtown area with many good restaurants. Being able to park there was a plus too.
