We were welcomed with friendly people and given suggestions on places to go to eat. The rooms and the entire Inn was absolutely immaculate! The breakfast was delicious! We were comfortable, surrounded by a clean and beautiful environment with an incredibly kind and helpful staff. We cannot wait to plan our next trip!

A time away

We stayed here with two other couples, and all were very pleased with everything!  A gracious welcoming host, comfortable and well-appointed rooms, delicious breakfast.  We enjoyed a pleasant walk down to the Bowen's Wharf area for dinner, but just so you know, it is a 1 mile (approx. 25 minute) walk.  On site parking is available.   Two of our rooms were on the 3rd floor where there is a kitchenette and sitting area. We enjoyed getting together here for cheese, crackers, wine and conversation without bothering other guests. We all had a great stay and highly recommend.

A wonderful experience!

The hotel is GREAT!  The room was homey and clean, with perfect temperature and humidity levels.  The breakfast was freshly prepared and delightful.   A charming addition was Zoya, a super cute dog!  I would definitely stay here again. 

Cozy stay

My fiance & I stayed here as a last minute spur of the moment trip. We were looking for a nice quiet place with a jacuzzi tub in the room and that's exactly what we got! We stayed in the king size room with a jacuzzi tub & fireplace. The rooms are SO clean, the beds are incredibly comfortable, service was great and staff is beyond polite!! We stayed for 2 nights, both mornings we ordered breakfast from their menu which was absolutely delicious. They are pet friendly which I love as well as very family/kid friendly. It felt so homey!! The location is great, 5-10 minutes from the water, if that. Great sit down restaurants around, pizza places, fast food. We also went to the movie theater 5 minutes from the Inn which was also great! This was the first B&B experience we've had and I'm so glad we found this hidden gem of a place! We'll absolutely be back ☺️

A little hidden gem!!!

We spent a couple of nights over Christmas in a beautiful room with a fireplace & jacuzzi tub. Absolutely sparkling clean, very comfy bed & incredible breakfasts. The owners are very friendly and attentive. Text communication with staff during our stay was always replied to immediately. I highly recommend this fabulous B&B and can't wait to return :)

Perfect Christmas Retreat

The effort that the Beech Tree Inn and Cottage put into providing us with the most enjoyable experience is hard to match. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The rooms were clean nicely and we were provided with any amenity, from a closet for storage to bottles of shampoo, lotion, etc. I am so happy that I stumbled upon this gem for my girlfriend and I, I would book there again without hesitation.  Plus, a delicious complimentary homemade breakfast never hurts.

Was our First Stay, but it won’t be the Last.

Beautiful B&B. Very good location. Nice room with a common comfy living room that you can hang out in. Good breakfast. Would recommend and come back. Walking distance to / from most of the various downtown areas in Newport. A lot of nice tips shared.

Nice B&B

We are local to RI and visit Newport quite often.  We booked a get away weekend around the February, President's Day holiday.  Fortunately there was room available at the Inn!  The room was quite nice with a gas fireplace and a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, which was spacious and had a separate glass enclosed shower.  Check in and building entry are very convenient with just code access.  A big advantage was the off-street parking which is a huge plus in Newport.  The inn is just outside of the main downtown area which is nice to be away from the crowds and traffic.  If you aren't afraid of walking it is only about 3/4 of a mile to the Brick Market / Thames Street area and there is no need for battling for a parking space.  Most of the major attractions are 12 minutes or less away from the inn.  Another big advantage of the Beechtree is that the breakfast is broken out in 3 shifts so that there is no battling a rush first thing in the morning, and you get to choose what you would like to eat!  The inn uses very convenient menu cards that hang on the outside of the room door and are picked up every morning before 7am.  We filled them out just before bed the night before and hung them on the door for the next morning.  When your breakfast is ready, they call you to the dining room!  The food was great too.  There is a really nice sitting room in the main house with games and a fire place along with some great treats and a choice of a few aperitifs . . The hospitality and friendly atmosphere made the weekend great.

Get Away Weekend

We had a great two night stay at the Beech Tree Inn & Cottage. The premises were clean, the room comfortable, the staff friendly, and the location perfect. The morning breakfast phone call is a nice touch, as is choosing from a few delicious cooked to order breakfast options. We will definitely stay here again. We thought Newport would be quiet in February, but we were wrong. While not the summer crowds, the downtown shops, Cliff Walk, and restaurants were bustling.

Friendly, comfortable, and hassle-free

A friend from MA and I planned a visit to the Int’l. Tennis Hall of Fame back in June 2022 and chose Beech Tree B&B.  

Cassandra runs a great team for breakfast, snacks as well as detailed restaurant recommendations and trip suggestions.
