I stayed at this hotel to drive Uber for the weekend. It was a very, very enjoyable stay. I have anxiety and depression ( who doesn't) so I had my kitten with me and they were ok with that. I had a Dr' s note just in case. I asked them not to do any housekeeping because I had Journee in there and I was afraid she would run out and they complied, they were very pleasant people and I will definitely stay there again and I would encourage anyone to stay there if u r in the area. It's not a fancy expensive hotel, but it was clean and u get what u need and that is what it is about, somewhere to lay your head and wake up in the morning.

I was skeptical because of reviews and ratings but I will say that I had a very pleasant experience ...I don't know if they have new management but my room was clean ( believe me I checked the mattress and all), and the floors looked new.

Weekend visit

Quiet yet only 1 block from interstate highway.  It has very good prices and
parking, I have a small travel trailer that
I was able to drop safely for the week while visiting and touring. With a very large room cleaned daily I felt comfortable
receiving guests on one of the 5 nights of the time there.

Leisure travler

We arrived at 12:30 am  in a storm. The man at the front desk could not have been nicer. He was very helpful and welcoming.  We have a service animal and he was very nice to accommodate him as well. The location was good, easy on and off the road. We were able to park where the hard rains didn't not bother us or our car.

When you get the first glimpse of a hotel, there are many words that come to mind. With the Ritz, it's glamour. When it's Caesar's Place, excitement is the word. Elegance and history describe the Savoy in London.

The words that comes to mind at this Motel 6 establishment in Newport News, VA....Turd Deluxe.

Rooms - old, dingy and smelly.
Furnishings - excellent if you're a moth, you like bedspreads with holes, tables and chairs from the Woodrow Wilson Administration.
Bathroom and sinks - hope you don't like towels and showerheads that are attached to the wall.
Staff - the 2 night Learning Annex intensive customer service classes have really paid off for these pantheons of hotel management and staffing. They have mastered the art of the befuddled glance and the long staring into space when asking particularly difficult questions such as "where is my room located" and "how come the phones don't work in the room?"
TV - that is good, however. Over 100 channels of quality cable, but no porn or educational programming such as "You,Too, Can Become a Motel 6 Employee. Qualification (though not required) - Pulse."

Horrible! Do not ever stay in this hotel!!! I paid for two nights through Expedia, which I am glad I did to guarantee my stay and obtain support with customer service complaint. The front desk manager and staff attempted to have me arrested for theft of services erroneously and continued to threaten, intimidate and harass me via phone calls and at my door, even after Motel 6 and Expedia confirmed my payment and instructed the staff to call the vendor hotline for payment processing assistance. They attempted to enter my room and for my safety I called the police to escort me while I vacated my room. The room was filthy with dead bugs on the floor and in the tub which was the least of my complaints. This place is run by dangerous people whom attempted to extort money from me, falsely charged and arrested!!! Expedia booked a new room for me in another hotel; however Motel 6 refused my refund request. Ironic since I supposedly didn’t pay for my room. Motel 6 corporate customer service offered to refund my money and add additional financial compensation for my experience and witnessed the threats issued during my phone call; however, I have not received that refund nor follow up calls to ensure my refund. I will never stay with another of their verified franchised establishments again and sure they don't care about losing my business either. They are truly lucky I'm not filing a lawsuit and grateful they didn't cost me my professional social work career with enacting their threats for my my arrest erroneously.

Beware; Never stay here

booked room with roll in shower for w/c bound family member.  Given room with tub.  Took persuasion at desk to convince them I needed the ONE room in facility with roll in shower.   Room had awful chemical smell perhaps to battle the roaches that were vibrantly crawling on the orange accent wall at head of bed.   Smoke detector had plastic shopping bag over it but clerk said smoke detector would work thru plastic bag - why it was there no explanation. Lights not functioning but they felt I would receive enough light from bedside lamps and shower light.  Was not expecting luxury but basic cleanliness low bar they missed.  There was no soap or shampoo but there was nearby CVS to bridge that gap

The manager LIES and blames others for decisions he makes.  I would not trust management of this establishment which is privately owned and not controlled by Motel 6.  The low standards are even lower when the management cannot be truthful.  I wonder if they are truthful to Motel 6 about meeting it’s standards under the Franchise agreement,  Be careful here.....

LIARS

Totally shameful, I am from North Carolina and I wanted to stay at a cheap and a convenient place. The place was literally "Cheap". Not in terms of the price though. The only good thing about the thing is the front desk staff. A boy and a girl work there, they were so friendly. I had issues with my television, air conditioner, microwave and I had to call the front office again and again. I didn't like to call them every five minutes but the service was terrible. They solved the issues. But the issues never should come up in the first place especially if this is a franchise. And the rooms were horrible, holes and stains on the bed sheet and comforters. The bath tub was adjointed with an adhesive. I would not recommend anyone staying here. This place is not worth even $10 and they are charging $125 for a night. And above all, the junkies and the prostitutes who stay in the motel were horrendous.
