Several local family recommended the Blue Spruce Inn. We have stayed several times and never been disappointed. It is a family run hotel that has been there for many years. The rooms are well maintained and everything is nice and comfortable. There are beautiful flowers everywhere. It is nice than chain hotels that charge more.

You need to call to make a reservation. That is more reliable than email.

Get breakfast across the street at the Golden Harvest Farms. Get ice cream at the Smascot Orchard.

Lovely large Room with fridge, microwave, hairdryer, iron. Stayed one week. My third time as a guest. I'm a senior woman & felt safe. Quiet and very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Golden Harvest Farms across road is wonderful - best apple cider donuts & apple turnovers & fruit.🍎

Istayed here for a year..1200 dollars a month..its hard for me sometimes if i dont work a full week,but everything is included..i have been allowed to keep my service dog with me.the son that runs this inn is a great guy..he is very friendly and he has this big huge heart..he is very understanding,and hes a fabulous human being..the girls that clean the rooms are wonderful.they do an amazing job keeping these rooms so beautiful..i watch them sometimes.they work hard and they always have a smile on their faces..even in 90 degree weather..the actual owner al is his name,well ah he tries to look tough but in the inside he actually has a very kind heart as well..over all this is a very nice,and a very clean place to stay..and im happy im allowed to keep my precious dog..right by my side...thank you blue spruce.

The blue spruce is a great place

The lack of travel going on during the covid pandemic seems to have had an effect on this property. While the flowers in the pictures are gone from the fence top boxes dividing the parking and the first floor rooms, the pool closed and looking poorly maintained and the closed coffee shop looking like a storage room the cleaning standards are second to none. Who ever cleans these units is second to none. I admit I did wipe stuff down when I first entered the room but I was amazed at the level of cleanliness. This was my first trip away from home in 6 months and I would feel very comfortable returning. I never got to say thank you to a member of the cleaning staff for doing a great job but I did meet the man in the office.

Cleaning Staff is Excellent

Room was very clean, decent and basic.  Neither fancy nor outdated, just good basic place to get a good night's sleep.  If you need a place to stay in Valatie / Kinderhook, this is it!  - Close to the historic attractions in the area.  The Cider donuts across the street at the farm stand taste just like my Dad used to say "They taste just like more and that's what you'll want if you eat ONE

Good / basic clean motel, standard rates, nice service.

The room and price were reasonable. Clientele left a bit to be desired. No coffee in rooms; coffee maker in office was last cleaned when Carter was president--and was not made until late....cafe was not open...the room was nice but not great--clean, comfortable...location is on a busy  highway. Pool was nice and grounds were landscaped. My car was sideswiped in the lot overnight and we think we know who did it, but it was a hit and run and managements response was...well not as helpful as it could have been.

Okay Place--good value, could easily be improved

Room was ok. But smelled very old!! Rooms are not well insulated. Could hear everything above and around us. We had no remote in our room. Our shower did not drain. Also beds were hard as a rock. Would not stay again!!!
