Unsecured room upon arrival - opened and unlocked upon arrival.  Sexual body fluids, blood & pubic hair on bed; body fluids on floor, walls, doors. Holes punched in bathroom door.  Deplorable, public health violations out the kazoo.  Refused to stay; reported facts regarding deplorable conditions to be told “sorry about that” from desk clerk.  
We used an app to make reservations, and immediately demanded a full refund due to false advertising of cleanliness, and I can’t emphasize enough of the filthy, deplorable conditions.  The app customer service provided a partial refund, however the hotel manager refuses to respond to them in seeking the full refund.
In addition, there were many people out in the parking lot engaging in various criminal activities.  Both my husband and I are in law enforcement, are not naive to these activities.

Worst place ever - don’t do it!

So I hate being the person that says stay away. I understand some people will complain about anything, but this place allows you to complain about everything. Check in was okay and the staff that I interacted with was nice and that's where it ends. Everything else was HORRIBLE! I feel bad in a way because it looks like they're trying to do updates but this property needs to shut down and do a full remodel inside and out. Traffic on a Friday afternoon is horrible at the intersection this motel sits at. It took me 15 minutes to get 1/4 mile from the hotel just to check in. Then the police were dealing with an individual in the parking lot. I checked in at the office and noticed some questionable characters in the parking area, which is under the building as it is raised up. I got into my room and noticed a weird smell and couldn't figure it out at first and then realized it was fresh paint. I tried to use the TV and the remote was sitting on the desk under the tv face down with the back removed and no batteries! I got batteries from the desk and still couldn't get it to work so maintenance came up because I had an issue with the toilet (I clogged it). He had to go get another remote and then got the tv working properly. 

Since we weren't staying long after this we gathered out things and headed out. I wish I would have done a little more of a look on the room. The only other thing I noticed before we headed out was the toilet paper roller was on the floor behind the door and the TP was on the back of the toilet and the shower had stains around the fixtures. Upon leaving I noticed the shady characters I had witnessed earlier still hanging around the parking area and looked around and noticed there was no cameras around and we were out of view of the office. It was about 11pm when we returned and I began to notice other things, on top of more shady folks hanging around. It all started because I had no soap in my room at all, which sucked as it had been a warm day and I wanted to clean up before bed. I then noticed that the drains in the sink and tub had paint in them, so it's apparent they disposed of paint by pouring it down the drain. When I went to lay in my bed I then noticed the blankets were just thin paper like, mine had a cigarette burn in it, in a non smoking room, and I had no flat sheet on the bed. I was basically covering up with a piece of paper. So then I decided to be more critical at this point. 

Here's what else there was: the mirror was old and had black spots all over it, the drain on the "kitchen" sink were visible and dirty, the tub was stained, there were more stains on the shower fixtures and the shelves, the cooktop was missing a knob, there was no pots, pans or cooking utensils despite being labeled as a room with kitchen, the tv picture wasn't centered and you missed part of the picture, the towels had holes in them, the kitchen cabinets were dirty on the inside, to include dead bugs some of which were roaches, the refrigerator was leaking and had water on the floor, the cleaning staff didn't clean out the fridge as a previous guests juice container was in there, the overhead light was inoperable and upon checking this out the wire was cut and tucked back into the channel cord, the exhaust fan was full of dust and had no cover on it, and this is all that night. I could've argued for a refund but the night clerk wouldn't have been able to do anything for me and then I'd have to find another place to stay late at night and then I probably wouldn't have gotten into speak to them, more on that in a few. So I stayed the night, kinda worried about my car and all the people I saw while I had been in and out of my room earlier. I even set alerts for the app on my car if doors were opened or it was moved. I woke up and started getting things ready to leave and took a couple things to the car and again more shady folks hanging around. What I really didn't like is there are a lot of blind corners where someone can easily come out at you here. I went back up to the room and gathered the rest of my stuff and as I went to leave I noticed behind the door was a cigarette butt. So on top of all the other things it just goes to show that the housekeeping staff is pretty worthless and can't do their job properly or even half assed at that, which is crazy because I was asked to allow an extra 20 mins for cleaning when I did check in.

So I go to check out at 640am, I can't get into the office and I notice the lock is completely missing and they are using just the top part of a padlock put thru a hasp to close the door, and the other door is held closed with a cargo strap! There was no bell or buzzer to get a clerk, I had to YELL thru the small window to get someone. I did try knocking and nothing. They couldn't even print out a receipt for me either. I felt so weirded out with the people I saw around the property that I didn't even leave my car running with my 14 yr old son in it even though I can take the key with me. As I was pulling out I noticed the sign no longer said Motel6 but now said Budget Inn and then I remembered seeing a bucket truck in front of the building when I checked in.

So in review DO NOT STAY HERE! I asked my cousin who lives in Norfolk about the area and he said it wasn't a bad area and the area seemed okay but I found where all the questionable characters hang out at. The gentleman at the front desk was kind and when I did bring it to his attention about the batteries in the remote, the inop tv, and the toilet paper roll I told him I was about to get a refund and he begged to give them a chance. Unfortunately, I found so much more later on. It appears there are updates going on but there needs to be much more. Update the bedding, fire the housekeeping staff, they don't care about what they are doing, if this is one room then what's going on in all the rooms? Install cameras throughout the property and disperse people loitering around the area. Redo the bathrooms if you're painting and redoing the floors. Clean the walkways and outside areas. The updates they are doing just doesn't make it worth staying here, regardless of the price. I wish them the best in the future but there is a LOOOOOONG Way to go in order to get there. 

Stay here, stay aware, or just stay away!

 worst hotel I ever stayed at I can't even use my security lock on my door I don't feel comfortable it quoted me one price and when I got here it was totally different very I'm happy with this hotel will never stay here again

The worst place ever

1st impression-what did I got us into? Worst Motel6 we've stayed with. Does the chain ever inspect their franchises for their reputation? If not for an overnighter I will not stay here. Filthy and not maintained exterior. Overflowing rubbish bins, smell of urine everywhere one walks and worse, noisy guests playing loud music almost through the night and reving their engines at strange hours. We stayed on 3rd floor thinking it'll.be quiet from noisy footsteps above yet next door was just as noisy. Room wise, the hotel was trying to upgrade. Clean and comfortable. Big King bed but had a smell. Mismatched bath towels, 1 fluffy long beige and 1 very worn shorter white, both with black things sticking between threads.. Looked like used towels, not changed! No mirror in room. No toilet roll holder. Detached sink tap. I even became a plumber to make the WC flush. Bedsheet and comforter has holes in them and probably not new as there are stains on the underside of the comforter white sheet. The floor is sandy and I assume it has never been cleaned. (Going into the bathtub for shower the white tub was stained by my dirty feet with black dirt from walking g barefoot)  Yes there's a TV, fridge and microwave in the room but they smell and I assume never cleaned after each guest checks-out. I can go on but rushing to check-out and get out of here. Another thing, my Credit Card showed a $7 charge from the hotel but I was never told when I checked-in. Its a small amount. How can I be charged without being asked? Integrity!

Reconsider if you are a regular Motel6 guest. Go somewhere else

I wish I'd taken more photos, but we were running away. The walls were filthy, the toilet bowl was ditry and smeared, and the tub filled with grime. The mattress had 3 layers of coverings, but when lifted it was covered with human and animal hair, and between mattress and box spring had roaches and possibly bed bugs. We went downstairs to explain this, showed photos of the bugs and explained we could not stay, but she refused to give us a refund even though we had checked in minutes before.

Please do not stay here!

Booked 2 rooms - 2 queen beds with kitchenette 
Arrived and the Grneral Manager stated they do not have any queen beds in the Hotel and only the front rooms (single bed) were renovated. 
Rooms were dirty- broken furniture- no safety lock- springs coming out if mattress- no mirror- walls and ceiling were nasty!
We could not cancel the rooms so went and bought Lysol spray and wipes to clean and sanitize the rooms!
Dead bugs in bathroom light.  Toilet would not flush.  Power cord ripped out of wall with a nail sticking out!

DO NOT STAY HERE

I walked in and had to wait ten minutes to even get acknowledged because the employees were too busy talking/yelling at each other. Hopefully in the morning I can speak to a manager. This is not the way to run a business. All of the employees either need replaced or need to be retrained in customer service.

Terrible customer service.

Horrible - dirty, gross, and scary. I told my kids not to take their socks off (including while sleeping). The bedspreads both had cigarette burns all over them and the TV wouldn't work. The gap under the door was so big I'm sure that all kinds of "critters" visit, although we were lucky enough not to experience that. Thank GOD we were only there for 1 night (out of necessity, not pleasure). I can't imagine taking a shower in that tub and I'm glad we didn't have to because we were only there overnight. The area and other guests were SUPER sketchy (to put it nicely). We were very out of place and it was unsettling to see a guy with his weed tray, smoking on the steps just outside our room. And there was someone banging violently on the door of the room next to us and yelling at like 1am or 2am. Startled us! The front desk staff was very polite and the quick access to the beach for a peek at the ocean was nice. That's it.

Scariest hotel I've ever stayed at

Worst place ever! Nothing was clean.  I was in my bare feet unpacking when I stepped in something on the floor, it was at mushy and brown 😵.  I went to take a shower and the towels were dirty. The sheets had cigarette burns on them. Turned on the AC and it smelled so bad. Worst place ever.

Don't stay here.

Where can I begin with the complete misnomer of calling this obviously glorified dumpster a “motel room”. Sure there’s the pier and the bay directly across the street which is nice in theory, but the area is crawling with less than honorable denizens, ESPECIALLY the pier and bay. When we pulled up we immediately noticed the tattered remains of what was once probably a respectable inn, desperately in need of paint, had exposed electrical wiring, overflowing garbage cans, litter, and empty liquor bottles scattered across the parking lot. My wife and I looked at each other in horror, how could this place get any positive reviews like the ones we saw? They had to be astroturfed because not one single person in a sane state of mind would think this place was adequate unless the rooms are impeccable, maybe the rooms are nice and this isn’t a fair representation. That was not the case. I go to check in and while the employees were very nice and friendly they had many people loitering in and around the lobby, I cannot fault the workers on the shortcomings, this is clearly the result of poor management. An aquarium with turtles sits in the lobby, in desperate need of cleaning, yet that receptacle was like a surgery suite compared to what was in store. We take the steps up to the room on the third floor, garbage cans overflowing in the stairwell, faulty lights flickering and buzzing like a trope from a cheesy 80’s horror movie, exposed wires ready to electrocute anyone unfortunate to go near. We get to the room and I immediately notice the filthy windows are clamped shut with a makeshift board, we walk in and the door torques on its hinges like a listing ship and the door will not close without slamming it hard enough to possibly break something. The dining table was probably never wiped down ever, the bathtub had stains like a coal mining crew used it on the regular, the toilet leaked at the base like a dam rupturing after a 100 year storm, the bathroom door was completely the wrong size for the jamb and appeared that several feral animals took turns chewing at it, the hvac unit looked like it was in a monster truck exhibition, the floor was sticky like molasses in a heatwave. Maybe the bed was at least comfy and had clean sheets? No, nope we slept on top of our dogs blanket on top of the bed because that poochie blanket covered in fur was much cleaner and the mattress felt like mechanical granite. Now those people hanging out in the lobby, maybe they worked there maybe not but they were in street clothes. They would travel back and forth to the 711 obviously and very suspiciously. Almost like they were selling goods if you catch my drift.  Did I mention the empty liquor bottles literally everywhere? This place was worse than sleeping in the car but we couldn’t do that out of fear of getting mugged and we were too travel weary to go somewhere else. If cleanliness is next to godliness, than this place is a school bus in hell and the devil is driving. I feel bad for making my dogs stay here.
