The hotel was clean and well stocked. There was a coffee maker with all of the things you would need to make coffee (sugar creamer etc) and even had tea. There was tons of bottled water stocked left for the guests.  The room had a mini fridge and a microwave. The manager Theresa had taken the time to write out all of the nearby restaurants so you didn't have to search on your own. The wifi worked great. The bathroom was so nice! The shower head was like rainfalling on you! (We were in the bridal suite on the second floor) We had great cell service as well. The view right from the room window was unbelievable!  Every room has a view and chairs outside to sit and watch the stars. The grounds were well manicured and had a fire pit and picnic tables. Theresa (the manager) was very kind and helpful with anything we may have needed! She even gave us some farm fresh eggs on our way out! We will definitely be back! Theresa really makes this place feel like home! We are so glad to have met her! If you want a clean room with friendly and hospitable staff with an AMAZING VIEW then I highly recommend this place!

Amazing view!

My family and I came to the Whitcomb Summit Retreat during early August of 2020 to escape the every day stress brought on by this wild year. We used to go camping at the Mohawk Trail State Forest down the road when we were all kids, but as our parents got older, staying at Whitcomb Summit was a more comfortable way to enjoy the area.

Our stay this year was perfect. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful. The sunrises and cool blue evenings over looking the mountains were sights to behold. The rooms were immaculate. The beds were comfortable. My family and I had been coming up to Whitcomb Summit on and off for about 30 years and this is the best stay we've had there. It was incredibly difficult to leave and return home after our 2 nights.

The owners were very communicative, accommodating, and knowledgable of the area. We hope to get back there as soon as we can. (Maybe even for the fall foliage if we're lucky!)

Truly a Retreat

We stayed here at the end of October when the foliage had just ended. The view of the mountains was still amazing and we wished we still had the foliage. Our room actually had two rooms with two double beds, a TV, fridge/freezer, microwave, coat room, two desks, two nice chairs facing out at the mountain, and the most amazing stone tiled shower! It was a bit chilly and very windy and rainy the next day, but there were also deck chairs to be able to sit out on the porch. The office is a bit small, but we had the most amazing stay!

Magnificent views!

Truly a diamond in the rough! Spectacular views and nice people who are very accommodating. We stayed two nights and loved the breathtaking views! It was very quiet and relaxing with spacious rooms which were very clean. Cute local restaurants and places to hike near by. Nice amenities including recommended restaurants and a continental breakfast. The rooms have a deck to sit on outside your room which was wonderful to watch the sunset or rise. Very beautiful grounds to walk around! Just what we needed to get away to this remote spot. We will definitely be back!

Diamond in the Rough

This motel is situated in a beautiful location in the mountains! We stayed on the last night of our vacation. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise right outside our window! The room was clean and staff was friendly. There was a microwave and fridge in the room. The only negative was the comfort of the bed. 

One night stay 

I've driven by the Whitcomb Summit Retreat probably over a hundred times. This is the first time I've stayed over there. I was very pleased with everything. I was accommodated and made comfy in every way. I'd recommend anyone to stay and enjoy the amazing views you'll wake up to out your room window. There's not a bad view in the building. Thanks to everyone at the Whitcomb for a nice stay during my daughter's recent wedding!

Whitcomb Summit. Great stay1

We've stayed at the Whitcomb Summit Retreat several times, although this was our first trip back in a long time. When we had to cut our trip short, we were told that our last night could not be refunded----and yet it was! Thank you for your understanding.
Rooms are very clean and on a good day you can actually see forever.

Found this Gem last minute! Great Views. Not a quiet area and room was not cleaned daily, however, now that I know this, I would stay again. Most attractions are in North Adams which isn’t too far to travel. It looks as if, at one time, there was a restaurant at site, but all worn down. Mountains and views galore and an awesome sunrise and sunset! Rooms certainly need updating.

Great Views

We stayed here for two nights last weekend, and had a great time.  The owners were very friendly, and the view of the hotel was beautiful.  We had a room on the second floor (definitely recommend!) and had a nice evening sitting out and enjoying the view with some wine we bought for our trip.  The breakfast was surprisingly good! There were bagels and pastries, with a variety of cream cheeses and other toppings to put on them.  If you're looking for something with more protein in it, there is a Cumberland Farms and a Dunkin Donuts not too far down the way. 

All in all, the location was beautiful and convenient, and the stay was very pleasant.

Nice time and great jumping off point

We attended a local festival and stayed one night.  The room was very large but the toilet in the bathroom was in a very small area (although the bathroom was average size.). I am small and it was still awkward.  The shower rod was rusted and the tv signal was awful.  The next morning when we went to wash up there was no water.  Headed out if there pretty quickly.  This place reminded me of the Bates Motel.
