(4 out of 5 only because it didn’t get better until the current manager took over) I’ve been staying here since 4/2017(3+ years). The first 4 months I stayed in my fifth-wheel in their RV area. The owners closed it in 8/2017 and I was offered to stay in a room. Having had experienced the winters in ND before, I thought it would be a good idea. The room was self-sufficient with a microwave, two-burner stove, cupboards, single-sink, full refrigerator, queen bed, flat screen tv w/direct, full bathroom, and wifi.  Since my stay here I lost count over how many managers, cleaning and repair personnel came and went. I think the last count on the managers was 6 before Carmen came aboard. Prior to Carmen taking the helm there were at least two times I made calls around the area seeking another place to stay because the management or lack thereof, was so poor. There was no control over tenants, there was no enforcement of the rules and requirements to stay at the inn and rarely could you ever get a hold of the manager when a problem came up. There were physical altercations in the hallways nightly and several circumstances where I and a few other tenants had to put ourselves into the situation to get it under control so we could go back to sleep as we had to work in a few hours. I called law enforcement twice due to domestic altercations and criminal activity. All these issues stemmed due to very poor management and no oversight from the owner(s). When Carmen came on all these issues were rectified. She was the best thing that ever happened to this establishment and I really hope the owner(s) recognize her dedication. She cleaned up this place by enforcing the rules and requirements to stay on the property. No smoking policy was enforced. No smoking weed was enforced, quiet time was enforced. She cleaned up the hallways, the rooms, is always available to assist the customers anyway she can. She is a people person and relates to individuals as a manager should. She runs this place as if she is the owner. You cannot ask for someone any better than her. If I was the owner, I would hire her direct to work for me and make sure she is happy and taken care of. It would behoove the owner to pay her a good wage because in the long run, she will make this place one in which people will spread the word about and want to stay at. That in and of itself will pay the owners many times over what they pay her because reputation of a place to stay at is EVERYTHING to those of us who work away from home. We want a place to call our “second home.” Carmen is working diligently to make this one of those places. If you call to stay here, I’d ask if Carmen is still the manager. If she isn’t, I’d advise you to be prepared for issues during your stay. If she is still here, you can book and be confident that the rooms are clean, taken care, and she will do everything she can to make your stay a great one. – Owner(s) my message to you is this, do everything you can to keep Carmen in the Manager position and support her with whatever she needs to keep your place operating at optimal level. She is your key to a successful business here. Pay her what she is worth, and you will fill your pockets in the future. Carmen, thank you for all that you have done to make the last portion of my stay here a great one. There’s a good chance I will be back soon and if Carmen isn’t managing, I won’t stay here.

Management Made A Difference

No hot water for three days smh but rent is almost a grand crazy. I don't think it's right to have to pay for a damn shower when u pay almost a 1000 dollars to stay in a place I dont understand that at all

Poor management

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel.  It's next to the fuel stop on the south side of town.  The rooms all have kitchenettes (full size fridge with a 2 burner electric cook top and microwave) - so if you're needing a place for a few days it's great if you're traveling with your own cooking supplies.  I don't know if you can get pots and pans from the front desk or not honestly.  The rooms are clean.  They have a wonderful guest laundry facility with 4 washers and 4 dryers that seem to be doing a great job.  Flat screen TV on the wall.  Beds seem to comfortable.  Internet is fast!

Good place to stay

TERRIBLE! There were crumbs in my bed, they then switched me to a room that had bed bugs.The breakfast guy prepared breakfast and everything was microwaved, undercooked and luke warm. All 3 of the black guys there are drug dealers! BAD PLACE

MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE AT HOME

I stayed at the Tumbleweed Inn for two months and it was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they got me checked in in no time, i stayed in the "old" building for a while and it was good, houskeeping passed by everyday while i was at work and had my room clean by the time i got back, before id leave id have some of their free breakfast, when id get back id have a nice, comfortable bed to relax on after a day of hard work. i later moved to the "new" building and boy was it great. more pricey than my other room, but it was worth it. the room had more space, it had two stove top burners, a full size fridge, and a microwave, along with my king bed, free wifi, a couch, dresser, cable television, and unlimited hot water. it all just made one feel like at home, the staff was just the best, celebrating birthdays, holidays, and just being there for any need you required. i recommend everyone to give the tumbleweed a shot. It really is a great little jewel.
