I stayed here for 5 days and found the motel clean and comfortable.  Due to covid, I requested that my room not be cleaned and they were very nice about giving me towels, extra toilet paper, etc. The rooms are on the smaller side, but that’s nothing I didn’t already expect due to its location. There’s plenty of restaurants in the area, which is nice. The only thing that I disliked was that the bathroom lights are motion sensored so there were times I’d be taking a shower and all of a sudden it would be dark.
 Besides that, a great place to stay for a good price!

Nice and clean

I didn't know what to expect when booking this motel, but I was pleasantly surprised! The parking is gated and covered which is a huge plus. The room was clean and quiet at night. I felt very safe staying here and would recommend for those looking for a budget friendly option. The only thing to keep in mind is that they do not have bottled water available at the motel, so bring your own. Overall, great value for the price!

Great stay for the price!

The door slits that opened with a security code provided a lot of peace of mind, whether you were in the room or when you left things inside, or the car in the parking lot. It makes you feel protected, unlike the typical motel, where the rooms are practically on the street. The rooms are renovated. The furniture is modern and suitable. The cleaning is exquisite. The proper treatment. We were there twice. The first time, the room was very large, it was a pleasant surprise. Now I explain the negative points: 1- The noise from the heating was terrible. You could turn off the pipe, but you could not get the neighbors. 2- The bathroom door was not well designed. It lacked a handkerchief.

Room do not match pictures! Extremely dirty and useless owner. A loooot of hotels have better quality/ price

The room had footstep and stains on the carpet. They claim they take pride in their cleaning but this was not the case.

Stay somewhere else!!!

The photos don't match reality, dirty, saffron, carpet and curtains, but we canceled them because of the state in which they are located, they didn't give us back the money for the two avitations, I don't recommend it at all, for the same price in downtown San Francisco we found very clean lofts and with adequate bedding.

It's an amazing place.

I tried calling to save them 15% commission & they raised the price, then when I called back they asked me to call back in 10 minutes because they were busy: Horrible attitude! I worked at a hotel and never asked a customer to call back. I highly recommend not staying here.

Shady staff that don’t care

Super spot for a weekend in Oakland, the management is conscientious and friendly, the rooms are impeccable, and the location is great and walkable — so glad we went for a cute motel instead of airbnbing!

Super nice spot

Wound up here for an unexpected multi-week stay while my landlord had work done at my house, and it was really lovely. 

The rooms are modern, bright, clean, and cozy, with fun design details. The location is great - near cute shops and tasty spots to grab coffee, meals, or snacks (or sit & eat in non-covid times) or take meandering walks through beautiful neighborhoods in the Oakland hills- safe to walk even past sundown! The rooms & parking lot feel safe - they open to an interior area secured from the street by a locked gate. The family who manages the property is accommodating and kind. 

The only downside for me was how much more expensive this was than my normal monthly rent - and the fact that it was an unplanned expense. Pricey for me, but a good value for hotels in the area. In all, don't think I could have found a better place to stay!

Super cute hidden gem in the heart of Oakland

Very impressed by the Broadway Motel. A friend and I have been traveling down the west coast and were a bit skeptical of this location at first due to the location and 'motel' in the name.... 5 freaking star!!! The owners were very helpful in getting us a last min room, even allowing us to check into our room 2 hrs before normal check-in!  

The inside of the room looks like a cute beach feel hotel while the outside protects you and your car behind coded gates. Nighttime is even better... they have those cute Costco lights that hang in-between the complex for a fully lit entrance and exit from your room to your car!  Very happy with this experience... this is actually the 3rd review I have ever left..... That's how the Broadway Motel exceeded my expectations and experience in DT Oakland!!!

Wonderful experience - - 2 females-- Never Felt Safer

Hi, I don't normally write reviews, but since I spent many hours reading reviews for a hotel in this region, I thought I should support the process.  

This hotel appeared recently remodeled.  The furniture was new, the bed felt new, the sheets and bedding were spotless, the towels were fluffy.  The room and bathroom were very clean.  The hotel and parking is behind a locked automatic gate, so it was very safe. 

There was a working refrigerator; no coffee pot but coffee shops within walking distance.

I will definitely stay here again.
