Do not rent unit 101, it had a mold smell, everything was very dirty,  Everything is very old. Marketed as retro, it's just old, dated and needs work. Beds were horrible, sgging in the middle. Furniture is just worn out. Needs a major redo. Management made an attempt to address some of the issues but not much help. Great location but will not stay in this unit again.

Do Not Rent Unit #101

I have grown up staying at the windjammer in OC and continue to stay there with my own family. My family actually travels from Georgia to OC every summer and we always stay at the Windjammer. We love that the units are all individually owned condos with full kitchens and each have their own personal touches. They even allow you to bring your furry family members! The private beach patio area with grills and corn hole are an added bonus.

Windjammer - OCMD

My husband and I stayed in unit 307 in late September 2019. 

Pros: Excellent location within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and attractions. Oceanfront location gives direct access to the beach, and it was nice to be able to hear the waves crashing from our room. Off-season pricing in late September was a good money saver, and the weather was still absolutely perfect. The property felt secluded and safe, and was shielded from highway noise. I like that we were located on the top floor (3rd) so that we weren't subjected to stomping above us. The unit was clean upon arrival.

Cons: Check-out instructions direct guests to make the bed before leaving ... what's up with that? Beware that there is only one AC unit, located in the living room, which means you'll have to sleep with the bedroom door open for any sort of air circulation (unless you want to leave the bedroom window open, which I wouldn't recommend since the porch is shared with the entire third floor and there will be foot traffic). The bedroom ceiling fan is a joke -- at its lowest setting, it's barely a whisper, and at its highest setting, it shakes and rattles so loudly that we feared it would fly right off. The property is obviously very dated and seems to be in desperate need of renovation. The parking lot fills up quickly ... it's quite possible you won't find a spot if you arrive late-night. Lastly, Windjammer is pet-friendly, which means you'll probably have the pleasure of hearing dogs yipping and barking at all hours. 

Overall, it's clear that this property is dated and there is plenty of room for improvement, but it's a decent option if you're just looking for a place to crash at night. I would not pay a premium to stay here during the high-season, though.

Some pros, some cons... (UNIT 307)

Stayed in 102. It is a shame that the owners are not willing to invest a little money to make this place great!  The place smells of basement, dog, and a dirty dish rag.  You get this seedy gross feeling with everything you touch in the room.  In fact, upon return home I noticed all of my things I took on the trip now smells like a wet basement.  Will have to wash everything and spray some things with Fabreeze.  Also, the window curtains and shades are old, musty, and torn.  Ridiculous.  With such a great location right on the beach just steps away from the sand is the only thing that makes this place tolerable.  So... I will try to find somewhere else on the beach that has a cleaner feel to it.  Rather than dark and dingy.  Also, they require that you make the bed when you leave, but, not clean the sheets?  Made me wonder if I was sleeping on sheets from the previous guests.

Won't go back.

Our room was super clean, nice decor and the view was Awsome. Not sure what everyone else was going on about in past reviews. Compared to hotel prices this place is way more value for direct oceanfront and pet friendly. When we stayed again in room 305, which is our third visit,  the same friendly staff were on hand to help. Parking is only one spot but we never had any problems. The best is being able to bring your dog with you, instead of paying someone to babysit or a kennel. Will definitely stay again in the fall, that's my favorite time at the beach and this is my favorite place....we  cannot wait to come back.

BEST PLACE ON the BEACH!

We had been going to the Windjammer for several years, but never again!!!  The new management company is terrible to work with.  The place is also now very dirty and just not kept up. It’s a shame because it is in a nice location but certainly not worth it. The owners of these condos better find a new management company and do some updates and repairs before the place becomes a total dump!!!!!

Horrible management and place is dirty

We (2 adults & 1 dog) stayed in room 200A. It was a quaint and cozy efficiency with old Ocean City charm. This room is nestled between 2 of the condos. Although you cannot see the ocean unless you're out on the balcony, by utilizing the screen door, we were able to hear and enjoy it plus maintain our privacy. The room has its own small entrance way. Location was perfect!! It's right in the middle of town close to the convention center and numerous food and beer joints. No issues with parking in their private lot and the woman we checked in and out with was very kind. Super pet friendly; we saw as many dogs as people during our stay. Only complaint would be the air conditioning unit not getting as cool as it should, but the ceiling fan and window, plus having the door open, helped. It was a clean, great getaway place for our little family!

Great Weekend Getaway Place for Two (And Pet)

I just got home from a 4 day weekend at the windjammer and could not wait to tell everyone to not waste their money going there. I stayed in room 101 and besides the fact the ac in my bedroom did not cool, the coffee maker was broke and our sliding glass  door did not lock.. when I brought it to their attention the maintenance main was there an basically told me that there was Nothing he could do?? Um I don’t know about you but I dont t go away to leave my personal stuff an my dog in a place the door doesn’t lock. The pictures for the room are from like 10 years ago an the furniture is discusting  an the one chair is broke an is in desperate need of replacement also you can here the people next to you who decided to party till 5 am before they got quiete. I suggest IF u even decide to stay here DO NOT DO IT SIGHT UNSEEN... u may be screwed an unable to get your money back like us.. I could not wait to come home to my clean house.. never again!!! We spent good money for basically a bad place... please do your homework!!!
