This motel was not quality but it was usable.  The electrical outlets barely functioned to hold a plug... the phone charger kept falling out... even the plug for the lamps by the beds would not stay plugged in.  I use a C-PAP and the plug kept falling out.  The TV was not set up and it was a hassle to get them to fix it, even to get batteries for the remote.  The spigot in the shower was loose and scary to use.  The shower worked but it was iffy.  Hot water was spotty as well.  They promised coffee in the office but when we went to get some they had no filters to make coffee or it was so strong it could peel paint.  The refrigerator, a/c, and microwave did work adequately.  The freezer in the refrigerator did not freeze our ice pack overnight.  You definitely get what you paid for... next to nothing.  It would be ideal for teenagers that don't have concerns about amenities... not for grown ups with basic standards.  There was not even a phone in the room in case of emergencies.

poor experience

My husband and I booked this motel pretty late knowing we would get high prices in the summer. That being said, we were one block from the beach so you really can't beat that. The room is very basic. It had some weird odors in the bathroom (mold? sweat? not sure) and sand on the floor and in the bed, but ya know what? We were going to the beach, so if we don't like sand, OC might not be the best place to go. I recommend it for something cheap (book way in advance!) and close.

Decent for price

Wanting to stay in the lower part of town  we thought this place would be o k for 1 night The price was low and we only needed a bed to sleep , what a mistake . The advertised price was $ 39.99 plus taxes.  Since we could not cancel our reservation   we were stuck, they added a $ 10 charge which they claim was a charge to booking.com They told us to call them direct the next time  to save on this charge .  Our next problem , my wife incurred 3 insect bites , I did notice a spider in the bathroom  Now 3 days later and the bites are still bothering her .  They do not have an ice machine and they wanted to charge $ 3.00 for a bag of ice . I only needed enough to fill a cup . Why should waste my money.     NEVER AGAIN

Bug Spray and antibiotics

The room was small but the location is great.  This hotel is just one block back from the boardwalk on 3rd Street.  You can walk to the beach in minutes.  Great if you just need a room.  Did have a microwave an dorm size fridge. Nice staff.  Room was clean but did have a closed up musty smell.

Great Location

decent price and close to where i needed to be, but room was very small and kind of blah.  i would stay again if i needed to only for location and price.  The hotel itself needs a bit of a face lift, so it is what it is.
