Great location, right on the inlet and the bay.  Gorgeous view and very clean rooms. Fishing passes included with room, just ask at the front desk. Also good fishing in the bay and on the jetty right along the building at the inlet.

Fishing Trip 2023

Please don’t listen to all the bad reviews.  I was just there with my son and husband. It was clean for sure !  Old and a little beat up but it was clean .  Nothing fancy but the beds were comfy.  we could fish for free on their pier, Hop on the boardwalk or get to beach itself in about 5 minutes. Reasonable priced. But …..  Yes there were people who tie up clothes lines for towels but who cares! Little bit of roudiness noticed but who cares.  My room was clean and comfy enough for a good night rest.  No one bothered us and got the feeling if anything serious was going on , the hotel would have stepped in.  They were good people and would not have tolerated anything truly bad. The rooms only use mini blinds , so some light does come in and you definitely hear noise but we still slept well .  This is our first time at oceanic and with the money we saved compared to a boardwalk hotel and the added free fishing ………… we definitely will go back.  The location can’t be beat if you have anyone who likes to fish even a little bit.  Pier is right there and open all night in summer. When you done at beach and boardwalk fish til you cant hold your eyes open.  Pier only open til 12 in off season , but still something silly/fun  to do until bedtime.  This motel is a great home base. I would give it a 5.  My main reasons  are that it was clean and great location.  If you are looking for fancy and higher end items you won’t be happy here though. 

Positive experience

Went for a girls weekend , we kinda knew what to expect based on the reviews - 
it’s a great location , great views 
the rooms were good size , outdated and nothing special - but good for what we needed - could use some touch ups - but was clean !!!! 
like other reviews - the rooms are very bright - the blinds do nothing to keep out the light . and there’s not a whole lot of outlets for chargers - i  recommend - as i would stay there again

The room was small and dirty bathroom looked like a murder scene the ac was loud very loud no courtesy at the front desk I wasn’t my money there plus the pool was down I had to walk one mile to another hotel that provided a pool for us there courtesy was fabulous anyway save your money or if your into drugs this is the place for you I’ll never return there even if they gave me a room for a month and $1000 spending money hell to the no my wife and kids got sick from the smell of the room we left 3 days earlier then check out they offer no refund to me 

It sucks

I did my research of this motel. Was excepting old and out dated. Was not expecting dirty, and unkepted place. 

1-The office over charged my credit cared an extra night. I went into the office to have it taken care of but got the go around so unfortunately it was not fixed and refunded to my card until the day I checked out when I got to speak with another staff member.

2-When walking into our room the TV in the bedroom was on and loud like someone was in there already just hanging out.

3-No phones in the room. No way to contact front desk or 911 if needed

4-Front door was very unsecure. It moved/jiggles when locked. No bolt lock just cheap dollar store chain. Did not feel safe at night sleeping or leaving any valuables in the room.

5-Cigrette burns all in the top blankets supposed to be non smoking rooms!!

6-No box springs so be prepared to be uncomfortable sleeping.

7-No curtains. The shades were all small, dirty or broken and did not cover the windows correctly again another security factor as anyone can look into  your room while inside. We had to buy eye covers to sleep at night as the lights from parking area and front door glared into the rooms feeling like daylight 24 hrs a day.

8-Bathroom looked like it was attempted to be redone. Toilet was loose. Dusted covered exposed pipes and air vent.

9-Although staff was friendly enough, some staff members stay at the motel. They hang out with guests partying with them drinking and smoking pot and blurring loud music causing loud distrubance until late at night. Very unprofessional.

10-It is a No Pet allowed motel and there was at least 3 dogs I saw running around the property unleshed with guests and not service animals either!!

Cleaning staff only put sheets, towels in rooms  and empty garbage bins   only after guests left… no cleaning supplies or vacuum on cart. 

Not worth the money they charge a night and would not recommend this establishment to anyone. 

The place would have potential if ran correctly and kept clean.

Poorly managed 

Save money to spend at attractions.  This is a basic stay and the staff is friendly and helpful. Heck, just what you save in parking fees makes this a total bargain!  I will definitely be back.  The view is awesome and a short walk to the boardwalk and beach makes this perfect.  Pool well maintained and property clean.

Great place to sleep

This cute little vintage style motel was recommended to us by other birders for its location close to the inlet and the beach, and it did not disappoint for that.  However, it was super run down (examples, one light we had to plug in every time we wanted to use it because the switch was broken off, another we had to unscrew the bulb if we wanted to turn it off because it had a short.  the furniture was worn and stained, and the bathroom mirror had not silvering around the entire edges so it was hard to use.  It did have a fridge and microwave that enabled us to eat breakfast in our room.  Rooms open onto the street so we could park right in front of our room and it was right off the boardwalk so walking down the midway was fun.  The price was great, so the overall quality did not bother us, but if you want anything fancy or up to day, this isn't it.

Great location, really needs some work

It is maybe a little higher than 3 stars.  The view of water is great.  It is real close to a nice boardwalk.  But you could not enjoy view from balcony because all the smokers.  Maybe a designated smoking area on beach.  The room was real small.  The bathroom was only about 2.5 feet wide, but I understand they have bigger rooms.  The room is clean and I did not see any bugs.  The place is in serious need of renovation.  Maybe renovate and charge more.  Room needs blackout curtains.  Way too much light in room from outside lights.  I dont think I would stay again unless renovate.  Staff was great and motel was easy to find, easy to get to and get back on road after stay.

Needs renovation but OK if you just need to place to sleep.

HA. Dump pretty much sums it up. Should be condemned. The pics I posted tells it all. Was really surprised to see the nice pics on the web site for such a decent price. But then again...If it sounds to good to be true , it probably is. Shame on me for being so naive.

Wonder how much they pay to print good reviews

We just returned from a visit to OC. We read a lot of reviews before picking the Oceanic. We knew it was old but we were fine with that.  With that being said we were on the whole happy with our stay. The two negatives were housekeeping and mold. Our second day we were outside and a Spanish speaking man came by with towels on a cart. He was very nice and he used translator on his phone to communicate. I brought out our towels for him. He never entered the room. 
The following day when we returned to the room there were clean towels. Our last day there we received no clean towels so I went to office to get them.
We noticed that there was black mold on the bottom of the bathroom door. That was really gross!  
The pool was very nice. The Oceanic was a mixed bag but as I said earlier. I would stay there again if the housekeeping was more consistent.
The location is great!
