Great price. Room was very clean, comfortable & quiet. I was looking for a place close to my family's oceanfront hotel without the high price. This was great and only 4 minutes from the Dunes Manor. I didn't really care for being next to a large water tower & power lines. It was tolerable, since I spent the whole day at the oceanfront hotel & Beach. I did miss having a coffee machine. I'm glad I didnt need an iron & ironing board. These amenities were not provided.  Yes, I could stay there again, but probably wouldn't. This was a last minute trip at the busiest time. I would definitely book well in advance to get a room with more amenities & a balcony. I do prefer Hotels over Motels.

OC vacay

We stayed here as a last minute get away, just my wife and I..... this hotel is quaint and quiet. It is older but the rooms are very clean and well kept. The air conditioner works WELL, and there is a frig and microwave in every room. It is within great walking distance to Seacrets and some other local bars and restaurants. Small pool if you just want to cool off walking back from the beach before you head up to your room. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful!

All in all it was priced right and no complaints! 

Just what we needed for a last minute get away!

If you're a value based tourist, you'll find the Maridel adequate for basic travel. Room was dated and a bit musty, but clean and the air conditioning worked great. Pool is quite small and only open until 9 pm. 1 block from the beach. Ice machine is outdoors and I question it's cleanliness.

Affordable Accomdations

Very friendly staff and very clean.  Might seem a little outdated but kinda brings back a kind of nostalgic vacation!  Very clean and extremely friendly. Like a small town feel. We had a great stay!  Thank you Paul for all your help with the reservations!  Will definitely stay again!!!

Awesome hotel

Paul and his family and staff work hard to make this a fantastic value.  Clean, affordable, and convenient.  I have stayed here five times in the last year.  Some of the nearby restaurant staffs recognize me as well.   Bill WV

Great manager

The Maridel Motel is a nice place and run by nice people.  We’ve been there multiple time and can say it is consistently clean and easily accommodates our needs.  The pool is kept clean and is inviting.  The hotel is very convenient to the beach as it has access to a crosswalk.  In Ocean City some locations require a block or two walk to be able to cross the street to the ocean.  This is not the case with the Maridel as it is a short walk to the cross walk and then a short block to the beach access point.  Another short block to a very nice bayside boardwalk outside the convention center.  The motel is located with easy access to both the beach and the bay.  Oh, did we say it was next to the convention center for any entertainment needs?  Very valuable we think.   
The management treated us very well and provides thoughtful and helpful items.  One example is a simple list of the local cable stations.  It’s so frustrating to be in an unfamiliar place and have to search all the cable channels to find what you want.  Very nice to have that list here at the Maridel.  This is just one example of the careful and well-done level of preparedness the hotels provide.  We’ve been there on wash day - they wash the bedspreads!!!  This is great! It reflects a high level of cleanliness.  The refrigerator worked.  At this price point, not many placed provide a refrigerator, let alone one that is spotless.  Ice in the ice machine every time we need it.  Stuff just works and works well here.  It really is a great value.
We like the place and will return again.

Great Value!

I booked a room in Maridel Motel last-minute for a business trip. It was within very close walking distance of the OC convention center. The motel was clean, safe, and quiet the 3 nights my husband and I were there. I'd highly recommend it - I think I've found a new go-to motel in Ocean City! Also within easy walking distance of the beach and several restaurants.

Clean and Quiet in OC

This is a good place if you need a cheap hotel and don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room. Pool is much smaller than we imagined. Right next to the Dough Roller & Ritas for a quick bite to eat!

You get what you pay for!

we checked in and that went without any problems. We had 4 people and where given the small stand alone house that was Great. set up is a little weird but great little cottage for a close family. Easy parking and Clean . close to the beach about a block . mud/laundry area before you get inside the main house Great to leave sandy toys and clothes . Would recommend. 

Weekend Stop

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Maridel for three nights during our recent trip to OC and found it to be a hidden gem! The price was a  fantastic value for our three night stay.  The pool , bathroom and lobby were smaller than other hotels and yes, there was the power supply outback as other reviewers have mentioned and no major frills like breakfast, but don't let those things detract you from staying here because the service, the location, the quality of the room, the personal touches, and the price far make up for any of those things! 

We liked when we learned that the hotel was family owned and we could tell in the details, from the decorative hand towels, to the great smelling soaps in the bathroom, we really enjoyed the personal touches of the room; and some of the things other reviewers may find "antiquated" we found charming because you do not find those things in typical hotel rooms these days; from actual room keys instead of key cards, push button telephone, OC area guides, and even a Bible in the night stand... all great little touches to make our stay that much more memorable.  Even with these "antiquations" however, the room seemed to recently be renovated in terms of bedding and furniture seemed rather new, there was also a refrigerator, airconditoner, and microwave, as well as a convenient place to hang your swimsuit and towels to dry and the room was kept extremely clean every day.

All of the staff that we encountered were amazingly helpful and friendly, and even went out of their way to go back and search our room when my boyfriend thought he left his ring in the room (it was later found in the car)... but staff even searched the trash to try to find it for us to be sure that we didn't leave it in the room! 

We have already booked our next five night stay at the Maridel for our next trip to OC in September and hope to be able to get the same room and make the Maridel part of our OC traditional travel plans annually.  The service couldn't get any better, the price is great, as is the room, and it is conveniently located right across the street from the beach, next to the convention center, very close to most eateries, and a short distance from the Boardwalk. We totally recommend the Maridel for anyone looking for a cute, comfortable, economical place to stay!
