Price gouging,unfortunately,is running rampant,now that everyone feels”free”.It is quite evident in OCMD,especially in this sub par,poorly maintained motel.Ice buckets but no ice machine?No amenities,such as coffee(or a machine to make it)shampoo/conditioner-no luggage carts:The pool needed cleaning&the front desk help could benefit from customer service training.One must cross the busiest street of the city,to access the beach.The charges were definitely not validated by the accommodations.I’ve been to worse places…but definitely have been to way better,too.At least,there was a 7-11 on one side&a Dunkin on the other,to buy coffee

Quick getaway

I had tried to call the motel directly to request a first floor room as I am a senior. I was greeted with an abrupt "Yes" when the person picked up as opposed to the customary cheerful greeting you get when you call most every business. I told her I wanted to book a room and was put on hold. After several minutes I saw that I had been disconnected. So I called back and got an answering machine.  After it happened a second time a few minutes later I left a message. That was over an hour ago so I went forward and booked at the Thunderbird Motel.  Never seen a business so disinterested in taking my money. This was on Monday 6/22 at noon in case management is interested. But they probably are not.

Well That Was Weird

Front desk not the least bit friendly. Had to pay for ice! Adding one star because the pool was nice. Also location was amazing. Really close to the beach and restaurants. At least we didn’t spend much time in the room, I guess.

No thanks.

I stayed here w/ my fiance in Aug. We checked in around 3:00pm that day. We didn't go to be the run to check it out cause we were starving from the 2gr 40 min ride! We came back to the hotel around 11:00pm after going to dinner & the boardwalk. We go to our room & couldn't get in! My fiance went down the 3rd floor to tell the office. While I was waiting w/ the bags in the hallway on the 3rd floor, a lady came out of the room telling somebody "they left their stuff in b the hallway". Someone was in our room! I told the lady "the office must've made a mistake". This poor lady was sleeping 11:15pm @ night & probably thought we were breaking in! How embarrassing!! My fiance came upstairs w/ the guy from the front desk & I told him that they made a huge mistake!! He gave us another key to the room across the hall & that's were we stayed. Bad experience! Both remotes in the room were stolen, so we didn't have a remote for the TV. Had to call the guy @ the front desk to come back upstairs. My fiance has to program the remote to Director TV. What a pain! This was the first 15 min there!! All in all, we will not go back again. The people @ the front desk have no idea what they are doing!

Not Too Sure!

I had a great time at the Coastal inn in ocean City Md. I have been there before and I will be there again. I had no issues with the staff. The maids spoiled me all week. I will be making my reservations for my next trip to ocean City Md very soon.

We stayed for a 3 night weekend in June 2019. Upon looking at places to stay, Coastal Inn was one of the cheapest places and didn't have the greatest reviews, therefore our expectations were not high. I can say that this hotel met our expectations. The room was clean, the pool was clean, and the hotel is located in an ideal spot for younger adults (close to the boardwalk, close to plenty of nightlife and the beach is easily walk-able). This hotel is nothing fancy, however our ideal beach vacation is spent on the beach and not in a hotel room. Staying for just a weekend, we were simply looking for a place to sleep, shower, and change and that is what this place provided. I would consider returning.

You Get What You Pay For

When we made plans to meet family in this town in September,  we wondered why it was so hard to get rooms.  Turned our it was Harley rally week, which was a surprise to us but we like to admire the hogs. The hotel was a last choice. The first room had a nonworking AC. Since temps were in the high 70s with high humidity,we got another room,  right next door. At least the AC was working well.  We thought the room was cool and damp but it felt good at first. We noticed there was no phone, no hairdryer, no toiletries and no in-room info and I thought "you get what you pay for". On our 4th and final night we finally found out why everything in the room was always damp...there was water dripping from the ceiling onto the foot of the bed and the floor. Upon checkout next morning I mentioned to the desk clerk all the problems with the room and his only comment was that they were closing for the season that week and would try to fix the leak during shutdown. That sure didn't help to make our stay any better.

One of the worst ever!

Service was very poor. Russian woman who didn't care that the coffee was mud. She said we make it strong. she didn't care. I didn't expect much since the rate was cheap.
Room furnishing were beat up and everything was sticky. Lampshade had tons of dust. Bathroom floor and ceiling had mold.

This hotel has been updated and is fine for a  short weekend trip. No, it's not the Hilton, but it is good for the price. AC worked great, shower pressure good, and all rooms have a nice large TV. Btw, the pool is very clean and is in good condition now. The picture in previous review is definitely no longer applicable. Management was very friendly.
