The woman working at the main desk was very nice. The room is tiny, and the bed is small but comfortable. It was quiet at night which is a plus. I really have no complaints except for the last morning when I woke up early and turned on the light I saw a cockroach crawling on the wall near my side of the bed. Not a fan of bugs...at all. I guess it can happen anywhere?

There is no elevator so if you have trouble walking up and down steps this place is not for you. 

October Stay. Close to boardwalk and Oceans Calling. 

MICE. 🐭THIS PLACE HAS MICE. Please do not give your money to this place! We stayed here for Oceans Calling Festival. We were eating pizza in the living room area when I saw something move beneath the pizza box on the stove. Between the metal plate of the stove, I realized it was a mouse!!! It eventually climbed in the pizza box. We freaked out (rightfully so). The phone in the room didn’t work. My friend went to the front desk to seek help. Meanwhile, I saw another mouse under the stove fry to pop out and scurry across the floor. I could also hear squeaking from the stove. (I got a picture. I will enter it here if possible). 
They said “there maintancf man is off duty”. They offered us another room which was in a completely offering buliding. After lugging our luggage up and down MANY stairs and into the other building, it was eventually midnight and we were sweaty and unhappy. 
It was a hassle to get a hold of the manager, Danelle, and when we did, she have no sh**s about our experience. She says “it happens” “there’s nothing I can do about it” “it’s cold out” “we can’t put any poison out because we have children who stay here” BS!! This is so unsanitary and more importantly, just poor management. She clearly does not care about the guests or their experience. After haggling, I got 15% off (what I THOUGHT was the whole stay) but it really was just one night. So, we got a ~generous~ $35 off the whole $1,900 stay. Literally please, don’t stay here.
The place has a good location and that’s it. You are much better off staying somewhere else on the boardwalk for a similar price.

The new owners have changed the character of this treasure in OC. The family atmosphere is gone, as are the free coffee and breakfast. Instead of an open view of the beach, a bar and taco restaurant are there. So, the crowd attracted is loader and hard to escape.

Sadly, the Laknford is ruined.  I actually love old funky hotels and am fine with quirks.   We stayed here 50 years ago, my sister more recently, but the new renovations are  terrible.

 The front porch with rocking chairs is gone - now just some picnic tables for another generic restaurant.  The cozy lobby is gone - replaced with what looks like a giant cube dropped in with coffee machines and packaged muffins.

 We rented room 203 for oceanfront and access to the porch, but because the main level porch is gone, everyone now smokes on the second floor porch, so you can't have your windows open.  The window unit Air conditioner in our room was loud as a jet engine and roared on every two minutes all night so I got no sleep at all. 

Sadly, the Lankford is ruined.

Stayed on second floor ocean view next to the balcony which the best shaded spot to people watch and enjoy the view. The hotel is showing its age.  The location is great and we enjoyed our stay.  New management and owners.  Not the same as it was last year.

Actually, we love this place.  We've gone every year since forever ago.  Unfortunately, they've raised their prices so astronomically that we can't go any longer.  I understand everything is going up, and I"d even understand a 10%-20% raise in price.  But to jump 50% higher than last year is a little outrageous.  Sorry to have to say goodbye to such a nice place.  If your prices return to reasonable rates again, count us in!

Over priced

The Lankford may be the oldest hotel in Ocean City Md. but it is well taken care of. The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. We have stayed here quite a few times and never had any issues. Mary and her husband are very attentive to your needs. They have a very well stocked Continental breakfast. There's no elevators just stairs which is no problem for us. If you're looking for a nice place to stay in Ocean City I recommend The Lankford.

Lankford Hotel

We LOVED our stay at the Langford.  The staff was incredibly friendly, morning coffe was delicious.

Our side view one double bedroom was small but cute, the bathroom was clean.  Plenty of towels were provided.

It’s a quirky hotel with a ton of charm.  The view of the beach from the porch was perfect and we enjoyed being on the boardwalk. 

We will be back!

Quick stress Relief Trip

This was our third trip and will sadly be our last. We stayed in a room with twin beds, next to a wonderful second floor shared balcony.  Used to be a favorite place to relax, read and people watch. It has pretty much become a smokers paradise. Understand, we knew going in that people smoke out there, we’ve been here before. But this time it was constant. So disappointing. The lower level porch was the same. Also, the linens on our beds were threadbare.  On the plus side, we feel so safe as they lock the doors late night. They serve a super continental breakfast. And the owner/operator could NOT be nicer. They recently repaved the parking lot. Looks great! But the smoking is a deal breaker for my husband☹️

Too much cigarette smoke

We stayed in the Martin for 5 nights. There was plenty of room for 5 adults and the kitchen/living room situation was very spacious and comfortable. Having two bathrooms was a wonderful bonus. The place is older but our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. The stairs are a challenge but helped us work off the Thrashers fries that we were eating everyday! The only issue was that the showers tended to change water temperature, but it was a minor inconvenience. We are already planning our trip for next summer and will probably stay in the same apartment. You just can't beat the location, the friendly owners, large comfortable rooms and the beautiful, spacious front porch. Although the hotel is located directly on the boardwalk, we had no issues with noise, lights or unruly crowds. The Lankford is a gem and I'm so glad we found out about it.
