This was my first time staying at the Inn on Shore Road.  I stayed on the second floor in a room with a deluxe king and balcony overlooking Shore Road with distant views of the Atlantic.  The Inn is tastefully decorated.  Common areas are cozy and inviting with comfortable furnishings and homemade cookies and sweets and refreshments available for guests to enjoy.  Plenty of complimentary umbrellas were on the front porch and came in handy for my second (rainy) day there.  The room I stayed in was spacious.  There were plenty of chairs to sit in and relax, a large bathroom with a nice collection of toiletries and plush towels.  The room has large windows facing the east and south that allow sun to blanket it in bright warmth.  The breakfasts, prepared fresh daily, are available for pickup just outside the kitchen in a large picnic basket.  I enjoyed a ham, egg, and cheese biscuit with chocolate chip muffins, blueberry yogurt, a fresh fruit plate, and a carafe of orange juice.  An assortment of coffee and teas are available just outside the kitchen for you to serve yourself at breakfast and all day long.  The Inn is walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops downtown and is a short walk to Ogunquit Beach and the Marginal Way.  With plenty of parking and beautifully landscaped grounds, the Inn on Shore Road is the perfect place to stay for a visit to Ogunquit.

Beautiful Inn in the heart of Ogunquit

Comfortable bed. Room had 1 closet 1 dresser and 1 bathroom to share for 4 people. Two queen beds. Would suggest more hooks and shelves to place belongings on. It was good for a short stay for this number of people in one room. 

Charming and convenient 

This beautiful bed and breakfast exceeded our expectations. From the well-manicured spacious rooms, to the scrumptious breakfast basket served to us each morning. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend.

Wonderful through and through

Look no further! The Inn on Shore Road provides all you need plus more.  The Inn is quaint and beautifully decorated!  You immediately feel a warm hug just walking through the front door.   We were met by the Innkeeper Abby who is amazing and so accommadating! She shifted us into a beautful room which was an upgrade and was so appreciated!  She clearly understands the hospitality industry as she has been the Innkeeper here for 8 years.  Thank you Abby!!  
The room was newly renovated,  beautifully decorated and so cozy!  The bed is comfortable and the furnishings are quality made and obviously hand picked for each room in the entire Inn.  I love a great balcony and you will not be disappointed. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening while overlooking Shore Road which is the main road through Ogunquit.  In the morning we ate our delicious breakfast on the balcony while enjoying the warm sun and people watching.  
If your contemplating staying here, DON'T!  You will not be disappointed. We have travelled all over the world and realize a perfect stay which is here at The Inn on Shore Road.

Perfect stay!

We loved our stay at the inn.  We were on the third floor of the house.  Great view of town and the ocean from our window.  Location couldn’t be better! Walking distance to almost everything.  We walked the Marginal Way to Perkins Cove for dinner.  Abby was awesome and gave us good suggestions for restaurants.  Just a great spot!

The Inn is great choice!

Staff is very nice and on top of things.  Great front yard with small tables and chairs.  Parked right at the bottom of the steps to our room, we were not in the house but in one of the rooms attached to the back of the house.  
Would have gave this place a 5 but I do not feel it was worth what we paid a night.  Very small shower, door to room would not close and stains on the carpet.

Three night stay

Returned here after several years. Still a great place to stay, a cozy comfortable inn impeccably maintained , with a great innkeeper/ staff. My only small disappointment was the breakfast ( which we did know about ahead of time). Presumably due to COVID and possibly staff shortages (?), it consisted of a choice of store bought cereals (poor choices) and yogurts, blueberry muffin, croissant, mixed fruit, coffee. Although it was ok, it seems like it could have been better given it is a B&B ( eg more, varied choices, real silverware and cups, etc). That’s the only reason for a 4 rating vs a 5. Looking forward to coming back during better times with better breakfasts!

Great Inn, breakfast could be better

This was our first trip to Maine so we were flying by the seat of our pants when choosing a town and a place to stay.  I googled a hundred places from York to Portland.  I chose the Inn because of the excellent reviews and those 5 star reviews were spot on.  The location is perfect - right in the middle of town - it's an easy walk to restaurants, to shops and to the beach.  Abby and her staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating.  We stayed in Room 15 in the back annex and it was very clean and quite comfortable. There's a bedroom and a front sitting room with a full size pull-out sofa, a small refrigerator, microwave and small kitchen sink.  It is on the second floor but I walk with a cane and I did not find it at all troublesome.  We absolutely plan on returning.

LOVED THE INN!

Although Abby was absolutely delightful when we arrived, we can’t say we were completely enthralled with the place. Our room was in the back annex. It served our purpose but was fairly tight quarters. We needed the heat for the weekend and it was supplied by a space heater. The unit on the wall didn’t work. The weather was terrible so we wanted to watch TV. Thank goodness I brought the HDMI to lightening connector i own so we could hook up my iPad to the TV and watch Netflix. Next gripe- the towels are appropriate for a two or three star establishment- nothing more. And the big one- breakfast. Breakfast was order ahead and takeout. Maybe without Covid there might have been an actual breakfast. But I’m gluten free so my choices were cheerios from costco and fruit in a cup. They gave us juice and coffee. My husband didn’t fare much better. He got a packaged croissant or “homemade “ muffin and a packed with artificial ingredients yogurt- also costco. For the price, this , even at the tail end of Covid, is unacceptable for a bed and BREAKFAST.

Disappointed

I was looking for a relatively safe, fun getaway and heard so many great things about Ogunquit. Although there are a number of hotels with great views of the beach, I would be traveling with our new dog. Inn on Shore Road was perfect and pet friendly! We had our own entrance to the room and the location could not have been better.  I believe we stayed in the biggest dog-friendly room – most of them I think are just one room - but we had a bedroom, living area (with small  pullout sofa), two bathrooms and a small fridge which was useful. The bed comforter was very soft. The pet friendly rooms are in the back of the main house, each with a small bistro table and two chairs right outside the door, and there was cover (great when it rained). Due to pandemic, the breakfast was bagged and placed on the table every morning as long as you filled out your order the day before. Right before Labor Day it didn’t feel crowded, our dog enjoyed the front lawn and felt like we had the deck chairs lawn tables to ourselves. Shore Road itself though, was always full of people, but everyone wore masks. Great restaurants steps away or 2 min walk away. The ice cream shop literally across the street was always great for a dessert before bed – it closed at 10p, fairly late for the area.

The scenic walkway to the beach is also right across the street and entrance to stunning Marginal Way was also super close - we walked it twice. It was more crowded than I thought it would be though. It leads to Perkins Cove - great lobster rolls at the shack there, Barnacle Billy’s and at Jackie’s Too.

Great short vacay. Loved Ogunguit, a very welcoming place and my dog loved it too!
