We stayed here for two nights with a spa package that we bought through Groupon. We travel every fall to somewhere different and this time, we thought a relaxing spa package would be wonderful. We stayed in the Pine room, which had a king size bed and jacuzzi. Upon arriving, we were told that due to a dry season, only brief showers were allowed and could not use the jacuzzi. The warm cookies were a welcome treat. The room was pleasant enough. There isn’t a T.V., although they have a movie room where you can watch movies. The spa consists of a very rough massage by a massage therapist (he was grumpy and when I told him he was being too hard, he did not ease up), a portable foot soak that you plug in, a back massage thing that you sit on and turn on and a salt chamber. We did not do the salt chamber because we thought it was strange to have that next to the movie room. If you are looking for a fabulous spa treatment, this is not for you. The Innkeepers were pleasant and the food was good. Jennifer is a good cook and accommodates whatever dietary needs you have. There isn’t much to do in Amsterdam and we drove to two hours away to find interesting activities. If you are looking for quiet, this place is for you. It was a little bit too boring for us. They do have a small pond, hiking trails and a hot tub. None of which we did because of my husband’s health.

Spa Package

This B&B is wonderful the hosts are awesome!  We have been here twice.  It is a very small town.  The rooms are clean and comfortable.  The breakfast is great.  We had massages and foot detox.  Very relaxing.

We absolutely loved the Honking Goose Inn. Jim and Jennifer were wonderful hosts and even made us delicious Keto Breakfasts. Nice to spend some time in the hot tub and watch a movie in the theater. We highly recommend this as a great place for a couples getaway.

New Years Eve getaway 

We absolutely loved our weekend getaway at The Honking Goose Inn!  The beauty of the woods, the sounds from the countryside (goats, cows, owls & birds), along with the delicious breakfasts all carefully prepared for our gluten-free vegetarian diet will be cherished memories for years to come.  The gracious innkeepers, Jim and Jennifer, made us feel most welcome. When goodbyes were exchanged, we found ourselves missing our new friends who were strangers just days before.  What a lovely adventure!

Stayed 4 nights, looked forward to getting up so we could enjoy their great breakfasts. Omelets, quiche, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, exotic teas, fresh coffee. Rooms were quiet, clean, comfortable. We asked for a t.v/dvd player before we came and brought our own DVDs. We really did not need to because their TV room was great and many DVDs, and fresh POPCORN!! Many small cities to visit. Best Breakfast in Ohio

My daughter and I did a mother daughter trip. The place was nice, clean. It was a Groupon. Included was the spa package which consisted of a massage, foot detox treatment and a lymphasizer treatment. The massage was a bit rough for me. The foot treatment was soaking your feet in a tub of water with a detox equipment in the tub. The lymphasizer treatment was a piece of equipment you put you ankles in, laid on a mat on the floor and it shook your body back and forth.  The popcorn was stale, sorry Jennifer forgot to tell you.  The breakfast was average. The warm cookies upon arrival were delicious.  The closest restaurant was 30 minutes away. It rained the two days we were there so we could not take advantage of the paddle boat, hot tub or the trails. Unfortunately this was too destitute for my daughter and me. We stayed in the maple room, two beds. We took advantage of the TV and DVD player Jennifer put in our room. There were movies in the movie room to watch, we brought our own. The tavern was a very interesting place to dine, but expensive,  lots of history there.

Quiet

I loved everything about my stay. The owners were very kind and thought of every detail. The room was comfortable, quiet, and just the right size. Even though I was the only guest that weekend, the owners graciously gave me "the run of the house". The breakfasts were delicious and filling! There is a peaceful, quiet lake where you can sit and watch the fish and listen to the frogs. And an on-site hiking trail meant I didn't have to go anywhere to get my dose of nature. I'm so glad I stayed here, and would recommend it to anyone! (By the way, I also recommend JC Wine Cellar in town for dinner. It is one of the best meals and best service I've ever had, and I've been to some very expensive restaurants.)
