I booked this hotel due to the fact we have a dog and it was a decent price on Expedia for our trip home from down south... a good stop over point and close to the Hwy.  We arrived at 5 pm and as soon as we stepped into the lobby to check in, the smell of marijuana was overwhelming to the point of ridiculous.  The front desk girl did not seem bothered by it and we made a comment but she didn't respond.  We checked into our room on the first floor and it seemed decent enough but we noticed the floor wasn't clean and there was cheezies under the desk from the previous people who slept there so that wasn't great to see.  My dog would have eaten stuff on the floor so I checked to make sure there was nothing else on the floor at that point.  Other than the smell of Marijana being so strong and the cheezies everything else seemed reasonable at that point.  We took our dog to the side yard to walk around with him and we noticed that the property was not well kept.  As we walked around the back of the building, some of the screens were popped out on the ground and broken and other garbage lying around... not very eye pleasing for anyone staying in the back rooms.  We left for dinner and came back around 7 pm and the smell of Marijuana was still very over powering that we actually put a towel on the floor of our door on the inside to keep the smell out... seriously it was that bad.  My husband had said he saw another couple coming to check in at one point that evening and said they made a comment as soon as they walked in to check in and then they walked out.  It was just sad that it was so stinky.   The bed was comfortable and it was was a fairly good sleep overall but this is not a place you would want to party at as people come in late and get up real early ( vinyl floors - you hear every move above your head)  Oh and I would not recommend you have the room by the snack machine as the pot heads had the munchies bad and you can hear the change going into that machine at all hours.  ;)   So, we are up and ready to go for breakfast... we have not complained and have been good guests.  I walk down to the "Breakfast Room" which was not feeling like a breakfast room at all, more like a little conference room - breakfast was not like your normal hotels - even the cheapy hotels have better than this.  They had cereal.. not great, breakfast sandwich - small and one kind and only 4 left an hour before breakfast was over, toast, muffins and they did have one waffle machine that was in use by many construction guys.  They had coffee and I did not see any juice or milk but I assume they had some milk for the cereal.  It was set up very badly and I would not give it a good rating at all.  I just wanted a yogurt or fruit and they had none of that.  I did ask if they had any yogurt as the fridge was almost empty and the woman that was working the day shift was not overly friendly and said... " we don't and we are not even supposed to have the waffle machine due to covid but we have it for the construction workers"  I was taken back as the hotel states breakfast is included and honestly... I had a small bowl porridge and left.  I was not rude but like I said, taken back at her tone and response.  We left within the half hour and as we left I looked over at the front desk woman ( same one that told me the waffle machine was really only there for the construction guys ) she looked right at us as we left and totally looked away and snubbed us.  She was not serving anyone else at the time and was gabbing to the other girl behind the counter.  I think our service industry is really lacking.  So on that note... we won't be back and I would not recommend this place at all at this point.  Best thing I can say.. the bed was good.

Unfortunately, we will not come back

For numerous years, this has been my go to hotel in Jackson when coming to see family, it was always clean and decently priced. My stay in April 2019 was shall we say, problematic, and left me with a bad taste. However, this hotel had recently renovated and despite having raised there prices, I decided to give them another go. So the good is that the outside is well lit and I’m good shape, with plenty of parking. The lobby and breakfast room are also nice and the free breakfast is good. The customer service here is also excellent, some of the friendliest people I’ve met in the industry. Where it goes downhill is the room itself, room 103. It was a 2 bed deluxe corner room with was spacious. On the surface, it was a fantastic room. A nice restroom, a closet, a fridge and microwave, a desk, and numerous lights, outlets, and USB ports. The flooring was also all laminate, far easier, in theory, to keep clean. At this point my only complaint was that the room smelled like smoke, but at a budget hotel, even a nonsmoking one, that’s to be expected. I was super impressed by the renovation but then I looked closer. Every service was either sticky or had crumbs, or dirty in someway. The door was missing a latch lock, the heater and window were disgusting, and the walls were shall we say, problematic. At first I noticed numerous paint issues, but then I noticed mold, in more than a few places, including on the door. As if this weren’t gross enough, after getting ready for bed, a simple walk from the bathroom to the bed turned my feet black, and the floor was also in rough shape in a few areas. Thankfully the beds were clean, comfy, and bug free, as were the fridge and towels, and the water got hot. Despite this, I’m still dissatisfied with the experience, and I feel this hotel has stopped caring thanks to a lack of competition. I will however once again acknowledge that the staff were all amazing and truly deserve  a far better hotel themselves and this review doesn’t reflect them.

They Used There Last Second Chance

This is a very nice facility that is well maintained and has many amenity offerings that "almost" give you a 4-star feeling.

Bed/Furniture: very clean-comfortable and well maintained
Bathroom: clean and well maintained
Breakfast: good selection of hot/cold food items
Price: fair/okay for area

We were passing through an booked online through the Red Roof site.  I would definitely stay here again if/when in the area and I would recommend to friends and relatives.

Clean/Nice/Safe/Reasonably Priced/Good Value

This is a bare-bones stay at best. The only positive was the person who checked me in seemed nice and friendly. The hotel is in bad need of updating, the bed was awful, and it is so noisy around the area with 18-wheelers driving what seemed all night long.

No frills; no sleep

We stayed this weekend traveling through and couldn't find another hotel in the area.  So we stayed in the smoking suite.  IT WAS DISGUSTING!! and I mean disgusting.  The bedspread had cigarette burns on it, the towels and washcloths had disgusting stains on them and the place was just foul.  We don't smoke and only opted for a smoking room because we were exhausted. The microwave was dirty on the inside (hadn't been cleaned) and just downright dirty.  For the price, I could have gotten a much better room.  I will never stay here again and this has changed my mind about red roof inn.  Not the place to stay!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!

We checked in at 10:00 PM on November 26,2019. Put the privacy note up the first night. No big issue. The remainder of our trip the room wasn’t cleaned or anything until Friday November 29,2019. The only thing they did was put out new towels and made the beds. They didn’t stock anything and left trash in the room, they only took out 1 trash bag. The floor was filthy when we first checked in and stayed that way for our entire trip. Also the front desk employee acted like it was an inconvenience to do her job.

I used to love this place, but now I’m not so sure.

First impressions before we even entered the building....filthy.  The outside area around the entrance needed a thorough power washing.  A beat-up trash can by the main door looked like it had not been attended to for weeks.  The lobby needed sweeping and cleaning.   The desk clerk did not know for sure if someone else was in the room that she was giving us.  She left us standing at the front desk while she ran up to see if someone else was in the room.  (Huh?....Are you kidding?) The hall carpets needed vacuuming and there were several large stains.  The room appeared better than I expected but I was already creeped out and figured that it was just cosmetic.  The laminate wood floors were curling on the ends, several floor panels did not meet leaving a 1/4 inch or more to gather dirt. The breakfast room needing cleaning.  The floor looked like it had not been vacuumed for days.  The breakfast itself was okay....typical motel breakfast.  The cloth chair seats were stained.   This is one of the dirtiest motels I have ever stayed at.  This was not a dirty situation because they had a busy day...this was a dirty motel from long-term neglect.

Not Good....to say the least

So disappointed with this place.  Should have left when the front desk clerk was so mean, but we were on the road and I was tired.  Toilet paper was almost gone in the bath upon arrival, shampoo, etc. were the cheapest, bed uncomfortable, breakfast was a joke.  Stay away.

Overpriced

On our way to the beach this was 1/2 way. Clean rooms, nice variety for breakfast more than at other redroofs we've stayed. TammySue at the front desk was very helpful with a rollaway bed and extra towels

Vacation

Traveling from Iowa to Virginia, we stopped overnight at the Red Roof Inn. After laying on the bed for a few minutes I started noticing hair. I was wearing a red sweater and the white (dog?) hair stood out very well. On closer inspection both of the beds in our room were coated in dog hair. Later, as I was removing the comforter (I would rather have no blankets than to sleep covered in dog hair) I noticed a large urine mark on the comforter. It seemed the bed sheets had not been washed at all from the previous tenants. We also discovered blood on one of the pillow cases. This hotel is disgusting, appalling and should be closed down.
