My boyfriend surprised me with a weekend away here for my birthday. It was lovely. There are plenty of places to have quiet moments on the hotel's grounds, as well as places to look out on to the beautiful scenery of Ojai. The breakfast was great, and you can enjoy it on the patio overlooking the valley. The location is perfect in that it is close to the downtown area, but far away enough to feel like you are really getting away from it all. The room was comfortable and I loved that there was no TV. You won't even miss it as you will just enjoy the quit beauty around you instead. 

A beautiful place to stay!

Please allow us to echo the other positive reviews.  This is a clean, relaxed, and quiet place to stay in Ojai.  Every room is different so make sure what you book is what want (we stayed in the Oak Room and it was exactly as advertised).  Breakfast was good and the coffee was great.  Everyone we interacted with was positive and helpful. 

Quiet and Relaxing

The front desk lady was so nice and very helpful with information about the area.   The room was comfortable, spacious, everything we needed.   The grounds were gorgeous, nice walking trails.   The breakfast was superb, very healthy choices.   The views… amazing.   The bed, comfortable.   The entire property, quiet and peaceful.    We will definitely be back.   A hidden gem in Ojai.

Hidden Gem

I've been to Ojai several times, but this was my first stay here. From now it will be my first choice. The setting is absolutely beautiful and extremely unique. Watching the sunset from the "pink moment terrace" and later enjoying the sounds of the Ojai Valley as night fell was deeply relaxing. The distance from town is just right - far enough for the location to be peaceful, but close enough to be very convenient. My room was clean, very pretty and equipped with everything I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and I loved being able to have greek yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and fantastic granola (there were also a lot of other items, like croissants, scones, bagels, cheese, etc.) The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. I can't wait to return! 

Beautiful and special

A beautiful, tranquil, serene setting!  The room was very comfortable and clean.  The layout of the room with the bay window overlooking the valley was lovely.  The staff were friendly and low key.  The best part is that it felt like staying at a well maintained guest house rather than a hotel.  The views from the outdoor dinner area were spectacular.  Overall, a magical and unforgettable place!

Relax and rejoice in the ambiance of this magical place!

I’ve been coming to the Ojai retreat for years , and the property and views are truly spectacular. It’s a quiet , unique, relaxing and truly lovely getaway close to town. But it really needs some basic upgrades. We recently splurged on the Ojai suite and the bed has the same old bedspread, no place to plug in our phones that can reach to the bed , and in general everything is just starting to look a bit worn. I think a little refresh of better linens and some outlets would go a long way , especially as they larger rooms are not inexpensive . Still highly recommended !

Still amazing , but needs some updates

Such a peaceful place ! My husband and I loved it. We stayed there for one night (in the Cozy room) and our stay was perfect. We really enjoyed the different indoor and outdoor spaces (quiet room, meditation garden etc.). I’d definitely recommend getting a bottle of local wine to enjoy the pink moment on the “pink moment terrace”.

Great stay and amazing mountain views !

Very quiet, wonderful views, beautiful gardens with peaceful sitting areas, excellent breakfast included, very friendly staff, nice & clean room with all the amenities including a kitchenette. Entertaining bunnies running around. Will definitely be coming back to this relaxing retreat ❣️

If you want a peaceful, romantic  getaway, this is the place for you.  The views from some of the cottages are fantastic, as is the view from the breakfast patio.  The breakfast food is tasty and the choices are quite good. If you are into spirituality, you can browse the rich on-site library and learn more about the initial owner of the property,  Annie Besant. After all, the property address is 160 Besant Roаd !

Peaceful, well-appointed  place with best views in Ojai Valley

The Life Guidance Angel, motivational coach, and I had a transformational experience. She loved the library "Quiet Room" and did not want to leave. 

The staff was so so nice and helpful when we thought we trashed a necklace and earrings.

Can't wait to come back. In fact, we are on the waiting list for next weekend. Also plan to launch my "Encouraging Creativity" seminar soon for the CreativityAnnex.
