This is a beautiful area with lots of outdoor activities and inspiring scenery. The hotel is very much a state park lodge. WiFi is garbage, carpets are stained throughout the building, the pool and hot tub were broken and dirty, and there were cobwebs on virtually every light fixture. 

Come out here for the day but stay elsewhere if you want an enjoyable experience.

Views Are Lovely, but Not The Hotel

We didn't stay, but we would have had it not been in the condition it was in, especially at the prices they are wanting to charge-ridiculous! We've stayed in much nicer for less money.  We came out to see some friends and thought about renting a room for the weekend. We knew with the Covid-19 things would be different, but had no idea it would be this bad.  Luckily one of my friends works at the lodge and told us not to book a room there because it was in poor shape and in need of renovation. He showed us some pics and we were greatful he was honest enough to do so.  We had been there several years ago for a wedding and it was in poor shape then.  We had been told back then,  7 years ago, that renovations were coming, but things appear to be worse.  We couldn't even go golfing or sit down in a restaurant. 

Everyone keeps saying it's so beautiful with the lake and mountains, and it is, but you have to see it from a s*#t hole perspective! If the scenery is the only thing they have going for it, then that is a shame, because it could be so much more and should be.

Nice Scenery....that's about it! Very poorly kept and managed

First off- they say closed for renovations with the golf course, they are not being honest. They are not adressing the issues of the golf course- The greens will be entirely gone and over ran with weeds and crab grass by this summer. A golf course must be maintained! As of now it looks like they could simply use it for running trails or hiking, which would be better than allowing it to be neglected. It's closed, and does not appear to be operational judging by the conditons of the greens. This is a travesty. Allow someone anyone, to come in and actually run the course and maintain the grass.

Not taking care of the facilities

We went for a 4 day weekend with our 2 small dogs at the beginning of spring break. The lodge style hotel was nice and comfortable. Rooms Complex is separate from the conference center, Parking and restaurant. Occupancy was low because their active season hadn’t started in early March—it was cool and damp—but we went for a little hiking and relaxation. Rooms are comfortable with free WiFi, cable TV, sink separate from bath/toilet, plenty of dresser space. Hiking trails are close and of varying challenges, we found one that was more climbing and rocks, while others were cleared paths or paved. Views were beautiful if you like red granite rocks with cactus, evergreens and a large lake. We took a lot of photos. We have 2 small scent hounds who loved all the smells. We saw many deer and heard lots of birds. Campgrounds in the region for campers and tents looked nice, too. We need to return during the art and theater season. Golf course nearby maybe another option. Restaurant was okay, but it was a slow weekend. Staff were friendly and helpful. 

Nice Getaway with Wonderful Scenery

I was invited by an acquaintance of mine from WOSC to tour the facilities at Quartz Mountain and give my honest opinion several months prior.  So I stayed over the weekend and  handed that person a list of the issues.  Recently that person reached out to me, claiming that renovations had started and  improvements had been made. 
 I took it on upon myself to check in over the weekend and see for myself. The first thing  I noticed was the golf course appeared to be closed. We are in March and the weather was upper 60's low 70's.  The recreation area appeared to be shut down, as did the rest of the park facilities.  I decided  to not be negative,  because it wasn't quite spring yet and most parks operate  with different hours during the winter months.  However, I will say that there isn't enough offered for guest  at  the park during it's busy season, regardless of weather. 
I drove to the lodge, I do enjoy the drive, and went to check in, but the first thing I noticed was the filthy windows, so right away I am skeptical. 
The restaurant was the same, other than the name, the food was the same poor quality and overpriced.
 Note: I never heard a complaint on the name, only food and service. 
The rooms were the same and  while I did see some improvements, It was premature  to call it improved. It was still the poor experience  from last year, musty smells and  dirty.  

I told my friend to call me in a few months and I would be glad to revisit and give a better review, but at this time  I could not recommend this place.

Rundown facility...Still a rundown facility.

First let me say that view and scenery is absolutely spectacular. To find a diamond in the rough like this in Oklahoma is amazing! You wouldn't believe this was in Oklahoma if you viewed the surroundings.  To see the Mountains and the approachable wild life is absolutely  breathtaking.  We travel abroad and love to experience parts of the country that generally go overlooked and this place was worth the visit. That said, and maybe I have high standards, but the quality of our stay was  just as extreme in the opposite direction.  When we  tried to check in we couldn't find anyone to wait on us and sat in the lobby for a good 20 minutes. and when someone finally did show up they had trouble finding our reservations, which took about another 20 minutes.  When we got to our rooms the cards wouldn't work and so we had to double back , only when we got back the attendant was already gone, and so we waited again. Until we were able to flag someone down.  We got back to the room and the keys thankfully worked, but when we got in the room the bed  was unmade and it looked as if someone had been sleeping in it. There was trash in the trash can and  not towels. We again doubled back and requested a new room. Thank the lord the attendant was there when we came back. The room we did get was fine and looked clean. However, the heater unit did a better job at making noise than it did pumping out air.  At this point we decided to just try to make due. We went to the restaurant which wasn't open and so we asked the front desk when it would open and the young girl seemed confused and told us we were better off going to a restaurant in one of the neighboring towns. She was very helpful and told us how to get there. The food was very good!  When we got back to our room the heater we had left on wasn't working and it must have shorted out, because there was a strange smell.  We  had asked earlier if the restaurant had a bar, and the girl  had told us yes, so we decided to stop by the front desk on the way to report the issues with the heater and not surprisingly no one was at the front desk.  We walked to the restaurant area and it was still closed. So we decided to call it a night.  We got back to the room and tried to take showers, but the shower heads were not to our liking. They spat water out and the water seemed to trickle out.  Thank goodness we pack extra blankets, otherwise it would have been a rough night.  We got up that morning and took a walk on one of the bike trails and the scenery was  just amazing. When we headed back we thought we would try to get a bite in the restaurant and the doors were open so we thought hey we are in luck. When we walked in we waited to be seated and stood there, what seemed like forever. When  the  hostess did show up, she apologized and said that they weren't open and sorry for the confusing. We couldn't even get a cup of coffee. 
At this point we felt like we were fighting a losing battle and so we decided to drive  to Altus and found a Whataburger.  When we saw the Hampton we decided that  this was where we would stay for the next 2 days. We went back to Quartz Mountain and checked out.  We spent the next 2 days  hiking and exploring  the Quartz Mountain area and really enjoyed it, we only wish we could have enjoyed our stay. 
We met a young lady on one the trails and she told us about another unique gem at medicine park and that is where we are headed tomorrow.

Pretty scenery! Diamond in the rough! Needs some TLC!

All I can say is I wish people could have seen this place in its prime.  To see it now,  in its current state, I think speaks volumes  as to the amount of neglect the park and lodge has had to endure over the past several years.  I don't think it has to do with people not carrying, but for the life of me if you care about a business why on earth would you allow for this.  Rooms are out dated and poorly kept,  and you never know what kind of critter your going to run into in your bed or what kind of smell you are going to be exposed to.  The restaurant serves over priced, poorly cooked food,  and is very short handed.  We waited for nearly an hour and only got our appetizer, finally when we did get our food it was cold and we had to send it back. We decided after to go to the backdoor steak house in Blair, instead, simply because the restaurant at the lodge appears to be overwhelmed with very little business.  My husband and I  were in the  hotel business for years, and maintenance by far was our most costly expense, so  I know very well how  bad things can get when  issues are not dealt with and problems build up. It can cost you customers and lose you business, then pretty soon you don't have a business you have an expensive hobby.   
We will pray for the resort and the people that work there.

This was once a nice place...

Awesome weekend with friends. A great meeting place. Our rooms were clean but the whole resort needs some major window cleaning. The restaurant was good but very short handed. The staff was all very friendly

Beautiful views

This lodge is in dire need of proper management, trained staff and extensive maintenance. Several areas are in disrepair, dirty, moldy and neglected. Many areas are an obvious safety hazard. From mold in the bathrooms to open construction areas to a large methane storage tank trailer just feet from rooms to feces stained puppy pads outside. I'll also mention the main table in the foyer supported by wet floor signs. If a child were to grab the table, it would fall on top of them. The roofs are missing large sections of shingles and several areas of the entire facility show signs of water damage. The room furniture is stained, scratched and needs to be replaced. The television in our room was old and had a very poor picture. The air conditioner intake vent was packed with dust, lint and filth. 

The restaurant is even worse. Poor quality food, improperly prepared, cold and a very nasty bartender who also waits tables. We witnessed the bartender verbally attack guests who also made comments about the poor quality of the food, called them liars, demanded they pay their bill and leave immediately. We've never witnessed anything like this before. The embarrassment of all was profound and everyone exited the restaurant quickly.

This lodge could be a gem if properly trained and emotionally secure staff were in place, being supported by competent leadership. 

Just a very sad place with a negative vibe, bad attitudes, safety issues, health concerns and no leadership.

First and foremost, this place is not a fancy resort. It is an older lodge. The rooms are cozy and the views are amazing. We did have some issues with the rooms we hoped for but the staff helped with getting us situated. We were there during a busy weekend so did not get to have the Friday seafood buffet. We ordered from the menu for dinner and breakfast. If you do this, make sure you allow enough time. We sat for almost an hour after ordering. Food is pretty good. The lady that was at the desk at checkout was the most knowledgeable about what happened with our original reservations. Our group did golf on the golf course. Again not a great course but the view is amazing. You get what you pay for on the golf course.
