the Rebekah Inn location is great....steps from the beach and the center.  The porch was lovely and calming with furniture that faces the beach.  The Inn was extremely clean!  Coffee and tea with little snacks are available in the lovely sitting area.  If you are an antique lover this place is for you!!!! I cannot emphasize that enough.  We stayed on the first floor with a "private" bathroom.  However, I didn't get the feeling this was "private".  The second floor (which we did not tour) is a shared bath.  The "private" bathroom is off of the kitchen and a small laundry room used by the staff.  However, I did not feel it was private as after we had closed the door, we returned to find it open. The staff did call us once to ask if we were in the room and using the bath as they needed to get in the bathroom...good for them, but made me feel uncomfortable.  We were told that the middle dining room , which we had to go through to get to the bathroom and then pass through the kitchen, was used for show.  When I told an employee that I noticed a chair in that dining room had a leg that appeared to be sticking out and I thought someone would fall, I was told "that room is not supposed to be used anyway", it made me cringe.  The view is beyond lovely. The porch has a wonderful view of the ocean.   The sitting area is even beyond that an is closer to the ocean.  The staff was wonderful, the setting is a # 10+.  The "antigueiness" of the inn" would be a #10, but it is not for me.  However, I would stay in the adjacent property The Sandpiper Hotel in a heartbeat! The Rebekah Inn and The Sandpiper are owned by the same family and  I would absolutely return to one of their properties again, just not the Inn.

Good, but no "weeooo:

We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at the Rebekah Inn. We had the top balcony room #76. This sweet B + B House was very quiet + cozy. The continental breakfast was very quaint. Friendly staff + a hop, skip + a jump to the beach! What more could you want. We’ll be back! 

Best Room In The House!

My husband and I stayed 2 days at the Rebekah Inn and were amazingly please with the accommodations.  The newly renovated Inn was clean, beautifully decorated and even though we had to share the washroom with another room, it was not an issue at all.  There was a microwave, refrigerator, sink and towels provided in ever room. The staff was friendly and always ensured we were pleased.  Every morning, at 8am, there was a delicious continental breakfast with coffee and water accessible all day. They even cut up watermelon throughout the day.  The Inn is right on the ocean and a hose was provided to clean off the sand afterward. 
We have nothing but good things to say and will definitely return there when we visit Maine.  

Excellent stay

This is a charming Inn right on Old Orchard Beach.  It used to be a family home that was refurbished to a B&B a few years ago.  It is delightful.  The living arrangement is shared bathrooms which takes some getting used to but wasn't a problem.  If someone in the next room gets up in the middle of the night, you will hear them.  They offer a continental breakfast in the morning.  The location is right on the beach and a short walk from the pier and many restaurants.  If you want something different, try the Rebekah Inn.  If you like chain hotels, go elsewhere.

B&B right on Old Orchard Beach

We booked this hotel in a rush, before reading the reviews here (which were pretty disappointing). Also, we didn't notice that the bathrooms were shared. This place is very clean, organized, and cozy. The "squeaky floors" mentioned in most reviews (it's an older house, after all), do not spoil the stay. Lack of private bathrooms is fine, if you take into account a sink in the room and only 3 bedrooms on the second room. We upgraded to the ocean view room and were absolutely happy w it it. Plus, it's a perfect location. So... reviews don't always do places like this justice :)

Much better than expected

We initially booked for a night but stayed for 2. We had the top room with the balcony overlooking the beach. The bathrooms are fantastic and do not worry that they are shared. They are fantastic and so clean. The staff are just lovely and it was a warm and welcome artist tide every time we came back. It truly is a fantastic gem 

Wonderful hotel on the beach

Our stay here was an absolute nightmare. We ended up having to sleep in our rental car!! This place was really nice and clean. Location was great. When we checked in the staff was friendly. However, you can hear every step someone makes at night. The doors and locks are extremely loud and creaky. You feel bad moving at all at night. The bathroom is in the hallway so you have to make noise. Anyway the main story is about the neighbors above us in room 77 were stomping and pacing all night from above 11pm to about 2am (when we decided to give up and sleep in our cars). We were provided numbers to call when we checked in. We called both numbers multiple times and no one answered to help. We wanted to go confront the person but as we stood outside the door we heard crying and cursing. So, we decided that person was probably not safe to talk to. Our neighbors beside us were clearing awake complaining as well. We were on our anniversary trip in Boston/Portland. This was our next to last night. We had to spend the next day at a normal Hilton hotel recovering from the lack of sleep. So not only did we lose 1 nights rest but we lost the next day as well. I'll never stay in a B&B like this ever again.

The owner tried to call us but we weren't available. There was a voicemail apologizing and requesting a call back. We've called back twice since that voicemail and have not been able to reach the owner.
