Enjoyable relaxing

Highly recommend. My son goes to school nearby; I’ve stayed here multiple times, in various rooms. The property is beautiful. Owner Catherine has all the qualities you look for in a good host. The beds are comfortable; the breakfasts are delicious, and while this is in a rural setting, there are lots of sights and shopping nearby. The atmosphere is one that allows you to interact with the host and other guests as much, or as little, as you want – and its acceptable either way. 


Wonderful Place to Stay

We stayed here to celebrate our 6th anniversary. There's a beautiful hike near the guest house called the Eternal Flame.  Property is rather large and has a dirt road to explore or walk with a toddler like in our case. The host was very accommodating.

Awesome Find !

Catherine is a warm and welcoming host who shares her home whole heartedly. We stayed in the tiny violet room with shared bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and home was clean. The property is stunning with a gorgeous view of the city beyond. Breakfast is fresh, homemade and delicious. I would definitely return and recommend to friends visiting the region. A great getaway! 

Bucolic setting, beautiful home, yummy homemade breakfasts!

We stayed at the Chestnut Hill Guest House in September 2017.  It was the loveliest place I've ever stayed.  Not only is it beautiful - views are amazing - it is so very peaceful there.  We would drift off to sleep listening to the night sounds of nature and wake up to the sound of birds just outside our window.  Once out of the extremely comfortable bed, we were treated each morning to a delicious and satisfying breakfast prepared by Catherine, the owner.  She is the consummate host as she strikes the balance between being warm and helpful and also providing privacy.  

We stayed in the suite with adjoining private bath and library.  This room comes with a private porch that overlooks a meadow with unobstructed view all the way to Buffalo.  We were told that on a clear day you can see the mist from Niagara Falls.    

The grounds and surrounding area are wonderful - there is a garden area with a stone table that Catherine not only allowed us to invite guests and have a barbeque in, she and her family helped us set up.  It was like staying with family.  There are walking trails and a large pond, and the guest house is within walking distance to Chestnut Ridge Park where you can hike (the Eternal Flame trail is a must).  

I'm only sorry it has taking me this long to write a review.  Since we've been back home in California, I often think about Chestnut Hill, especially when I have difficulty falling asleep or am stressed about something.  I close my eyes and envision this lovely place.  

We come to Buffalo each year to see family and friends and booked our stay for next September while we were still there.  I can't wait to see Catherine and spend time in her magical home.  I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Simply Perfect

I stayed at Chestnut hill last week while I was in town for work. Catherine was warm, welcoming & made me feel very comfortable, all while giving me my own space to relax & unwind. I’m used to staying at hotels while traveling for work, this was a pleasant experience to have the creature comforts of home. I stayed in the main room which is very spacious, has an adjacent library, great views & a big bright bathroom equipment with a spa bath, double vanity’s & a big shower. The home itself is on a large, beautiful quiet property with views of the city & a quick 10minute drive to downtown Orchard Park. Catherine lit the open fire every night & made a yummy breakfast each morning. Tea, coffee & filtered water is available 24/7. The home is full of plants & the artwork is fantastic! A very welcoming space. I will definitely stay here when I travel to Buffalo for work & am planning a romantic weekend trip with my husband too ;)
