We had a confirmed reservation for the 2023 eclipse. Bad enough that they gouged us for $175 for a $75 motel room. But then they told us they had no room for us, then charged our card for it anyway!!  Left us stranded then ripped us off Disgraceful.

They would not honor our confirmed reservation forcing us to go 100 miles to find another room. Then charged us anyway!

Had a room reserved here more than 7 months in advance via Hotels.com. The hotel unceremoniously canceled my booking without giving any reason. And now there is no other availability. Definitely recommend not booking here.

Broken booking system.

We called to cancel our room reservation by 9:30 am in the morning.  They would not refund our money for the night.  We were cancelling because we are fire fighters and are being moved to another location which is our of our control.  The poor conditions of the room was shared with us from other federal fire fighters and bugs in the room.  Very unforgiving manager under the circumstances.

Terrible Customer Service & Rooms

Staff was welcoming. The room was dated, nothing fancy, but was comfortable and clean.  Due to covid 19 there was no breakfast offered.  There was a microwave and little coffee maker in the room, that we used.  I would stay here again.

Stop over

To another motel.  Overpriced, yellow water, shower head sprayed everywhere & not able to adjust.  Shower curtain too short & water got all over the floor.  I have rags with more ‘fluff’ than their towels. All were ‘grey’.   Definitely renovated, but cheaply so. Just lots of paint & crown molding. No blow dryer. For $130.00 I will keep driving to the next town or sleep in my car if necessary. 

RUN DON’T WALK

Interstate 8 Motel was recommended to me by a local resident.  I arrived late and tired. The staff and room were welcoming and ready for this weary traveler.  I was impressed with the kindness of the owner who helped me with several logistical problems. Unfortunately, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, there was no breakfast. However, several nice restaurants are within walking distance. Based on the limited options in Lakeview, I would highly recommend Interstate 8.

Wonderful staff and visit

We stayed here 3 years ago and it was clean and well kept then, despite being outdated.  This time was entirely different.  The stairs leading to the 2nd floor were filthy...there were small bags of trash sitting outside of one of the rooms for our entire visit.  The bedspread in our room was visibly dirty, there was unknown filth on the curtains, the carpet was dirty.  In the bathroom there was a filthy stained hand towel on the tank of the toilet with a sign urging us to us it instead of the towels for dirty jobs, but the bath towels were not a lot cleaner.  The shower curtain was very dirty and there were curly hairs in the tub.  We won't be staying there again.  They need to get a handle on the housekeeping, as their prices are not much different than the higher end hotels in town.

Not clean

I got two rooms, there wasn't a drop off hot water in either one. Everything about the room was about what you'd expect from such an old motel. Old, reasonably clean, the whole place smells like pot. But The cold water was too much. I don't expect much from a place like this. But I expect at least a hot shower. And they score a zero on that for two separate rooms, on opposite sides of the motel, one on the first floor and one on the second. Not a drop off warm out hot water in either.

We booked our hotel stay in Lakeview while on the road. Out of the three options available, the Interstate 8 Hotel was the most reasonable in price, but certainly NOT a bargain hotel by any means! When we checked in, it seemed that the receptionist had been awakened from her afternoon nap, and she had difficulty dealing with the check-in process.  As it turned out, we were the only people in the entire hotel!  Evidently, other travelers knew more about the Interstate than we did--we should have read the reviews.  Everything was shabby and dirty--especially the walls and the door in the bathroom, actually the entire bathroom was dirty.  Everything about the hotel could use a very thorough cleaning.  We would not stay at this hotel again--saving a few dollars simply isn't worth it!

Pay More-Sleep Better

The rooms were a bit dated, needed updates to carpet, bathroom, walls, etc. All in all a decent value, and a great location in Lakeview with outstanding local restaurant - Tall Town across the street.
