This was the PERFECT location!  Down a quiet street, outside of the historic downtown of Newport, OR.   It had an amazing view of the coast and you could walk down to the beach and walk forever next to the ocean.   From check-in to leaving, we felt that every detail was well thought out.   There is not a room that they have that does not have an AWESOME view.   Big windows in each room where you can watch and hear the ocean.  The room had a gas fireplace and since the evenings are cool, it was such a nice touch to have this fireplace not only for a little warmth, but it really made it romantic.   Dee was such a wonderful host, she got us wine and was available for anything that we needed.   The whole place was impeccable and we felt so comfortable with everything even with this COVID thing going on.  Breakfast was delicious and since COVID we were served by Dee with a tray brought to our room.   Fresh flowers were on our tray.   We had a croissant egg which, homemade granola with yogurt and fresh fruit...YUMMY!  The property was beautiful, it was up on a high hill, among the trees overlooking the ocean.   So peaceful.  We definitely recommend this B&B and Dee has thought of everything.   Loved our stay and will be back!

Amazing View of the Coast

We stayed at Tyee Lodge in July of 2020, and we loved our experience.  We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts, and this was one of the best!  The very large picture window next to the bed overlooked the trees and beach below.  We were able to open the window and listen to the waves all night.  We were served an excellent breakfast, outside our room because of COVID, and in the morning we walked down to the beach and so enjoyed the practically private beach.  I definitely want to return!  I highly recommend this place.

Fabulous view!!!!

This was my second stay at this beautiful B and B. The Chinook Room views are so gorgeous that you might be tempted to never leave. The owner, Dee, took all appropriate precautions, delivering breakfast and fresh daily cookies to each room, making guests feel safe and welcome. I especially love the decor here, from the totems as you enter to the Northwest native art throughout the house. There is much to do in the area. My only suggestions might be to get rid of the water feature as the sound competes with the ocean, and to add an outdoor table or two for eating outside during The Covid take-out ere.

Incomparable views!

Tyee Lodge is impeccably clean! Each room has a fabulous view of the coast and has comy chairs and a gas fire place making it a perfect place to chill out and do what we love to do - guilt-free reading - for several days. Breakfasts are always interesting, tasty and beautifully presented. Dee always has fresh cookies and wine and cold drinks available for guests. The only thing missing for me is better coffee but I confess I can be a coffee snob. We will go back again and again.

Always a perfect place to be on the Oregon coast

After spending two weeks looking for houses in Oregon, we treated ourselves to a couple of nights on the Oregon Coast.  When we checked into the Tyee Lodge just before sunset, we were blown away by stunning views of the Pacific from our Siletz Room.  Large pine trees bracketed the immaculately kept grounds and the white sand beach.  Dee, the welcoming innkeeper, offered us complimentary wine, beer, tea, and cookies.  We appreciated the warmth of the gas fireplace in the room, the comfortable bed, and the well-appointed bathroom.  We enjoyed her early morning coffee as well as her delicious breakfasts which accommodated our food preferences.  We tore ourselves away from the enjoyable comradery and conversation at breakfast to marvel at pebble beach by the nearby Yaquina Bay Light House, hike to the 500-year-old Sitka Spruce in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area,and stop to capture innumerable photographs of the rocky coast.  Dee is a wonderful innkeeper and we looking forward to going back for a longer visit.

Stunning Oregon Coast Stay

Spent two wonderful nights in the Yaquina room. Super comfortable - both the accommodations and the host. I usually find a couple of "improvements" I'd like to see when we stay in B&Bs but I found nothing lacking at Tyee. It's clear a lot of thought has gone into the design of the rooms. Breakfast was enhanced by coffee that was hot and strong enough. (very important!). Dee was very sociable, fun to talk to and quick to share ideas about sight seeing and eating out. The weather was on the cold and rainy side but we were totally happy/comfortable sitting in our room and enjoying the view. This will definitely be a "go-to" place for us to stay at the coast.

Exactly What We'd Hoped For!!

My husband and I are not typically B&B people, but the reviews and photos of Tyee Lodge won us over when we were looking for a place to stay on the coast for three nights. Our experience there was even better than we expected. It was a cozy, comfortable spot with beautiful ocean views during any weather (and, boy, did the weather change constantly during our days there). It is off 101, but close to it, so we could easily travel up/down the coast each day. The nights were quiet whether we were the only guests (our first night) or the rooms were full (our last). Breakfasts were delicious, and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests each morning. Thank you, Dee, for a delightful stay!

Wonderful coastal retreat!

Had a wonderful time at Tyee. It's been so relaxing. We felt right at home. Dee is very accommodating and Cienna is well just adorable! 
Our room was clean, breakfast was delicious, hot and served promptly at 830. The shower was comfortable and the shower head was strong enough to wet my course thick hair. 
They have complementary wine, beer, tea, cocoa, filtered water, and fresh baked cookies to nibble on. The path to the beach is quite accessible.  Close to all of Newport's Gems. The fireplace in the room is wonderful. The ocean waves are fantastic  and will lull you to sleep. Great place for adults to get away. 
I highly recommend staying. It's so much better than Air bnb's.
We will be staying again. 

Heaven

Tyee Lodge has a super location on the north end of Newport, away from the touristy area. The view from the back of the house is absolutely amazing -- with the wide beach flanked by trees and greenery. A somewhat steep, private path leads down to the beach, which is wide with very few people. We stayed in the Yaquina room, named after the lighthouse at the point a mile north (well worth seeing!). The Yaquina and Chinook rooms have the best views. Dee the innkeeper is warm and helpful. She's also a great cook with unique breakfast dishes, and even provides room service upon request.  Cookies and wine in the afternoons!

Beautiful setting, warm inn

We loved our brief time at Tyee Lodge. It is quiet and comfortable and our room, like the others, looked directly over the sandy beach, through some pine trees and we slept to the roar of the waves. Dee, the owner, is just lovely and nothing is too much trouble. There is parking outside, a lovely garden with seats overlooking the beach and a small private path right down to the beach. Our room was super comfortable with good lighting and a great bathroom. We loved the communal breakfast and Dee's delicious menus. NYE Beach is nearby with some lovely restaurants and bars. We stayed two nights. Three or four would have been perfect. Make sure you visit the lighthouse nearby. We watched some whales from there and the roosting sea birds are something else. I hope we come back some day.
