We wanted to celebrate our 54th anniversary in a special way - Huron House was exactly what we needed. The breakfasts  were made specifically for our restrictions - and even the snacks in the evening!!!  Everyone we worked with were very friendly and helpful.

Even the winters are cozy here!!

Booked a weekend stay as a mini getaway in Mid-December. Look at each room as they are all slightly different in terms of style and layout (fireplace, jet tub etc). Made our reservation and drove up (from metro Detroit). Got a little mixed up somehow on the address so we went north too far and had to loop back but signage on the way back helped. Checked in and.... some how the online reservation was made for the WRONG dates. I have no idea how it happened as my husband and I typically are pretty meticulous and pretty much had only 1 of 2 date options available to us (and I plan and research trips very often). So imagine my stomach just dropping when the innkeeper said he didn't have our confirmed reservation for that weekend, and unfortunately had been booked for the alternative dates we were looking at. Miraculously, the innkeeper helped us look into the system and said by luck, the room that we anted was actually still available for the current weekend and he was able to transfer our dates. Forever grateful for that. Anyway the innkeeper who helped us was so enthusiastic, kind, and helpful.  We liked that this BNB had a delivered dessert each night (although I will say the dessert wasn't the absolute best I had, it was still decent), and the cooked breakfast and fresh coffee each morning delivered to us was excellent. We love soaking in the jet tub and getting toasty with the fireplace. Beautiful view of Lake Huron, we love hearing the waves crashing on shore. The exterior of the place is beautiful - in the summer I'm sure the firepit area is an amazing hangout space. Actually, the firepit was lit when we walked around so I guess you can enjoy it anytime. Things felt clean and luxurious. Our room had super soft/silky sheets. Some cute goodies in their inventory like locally made ceramics. Cookies in the lobby. We took a day trip out to Alpena to check out the maritime museum and out to Alcona Brewhaus for their monthly afternoon tea as well as dinner later (amazing ribs!). Would have loved to explore the area more. For a cozy relaxed couples getaway I'd recommend this place! It's not often when you don't want to leave the room lol.

This bed and breakfast by far is my favorite! You are totally spoiled with the comfort of the room and hot tub/jacuzzi ribs, views and the food! The desserts were a fun surprise each night. The innkeepers, Kristen and David were super nice accommodating to about anything we needed! We can’t wait to stay in one of their new rooms being built next time :)

Private, luxurious, THE VIEW!!

This was our second time at the Huron House celebrating our anniversary. It is VERY relaxing, they have pretty much thought of everything. The rooms are clean and very well maintained, the food was excellent, the staff was very friendly and responsiveness to out requests were very timely (like extra towels, etc.). The Apps and TV selections were great. The candles are a nice touch around the jacuzzi tub as well. We will definitely be going back in the future, maybe in the warmer weather so we can take advantage of the beach and firepit areas.

Great Romantic Get-Away

As always, our favorite place to stay. We have stayed many times in the past, and they always live up to expectations. this was for our 25th anniversary and we’ve been there on many other anniversaries as well.

Great place for a romantic weekend

Such a fantastic place to plan a getaway.   It's nice to be pampered!!!  Breakfast in the morning and dessert in the evening.  It was a beautiful time to spend sipping wine in the jacuzzi with my wonderful husband of 35 years!  We can't wait to go back.  The people are so friendly and always helpful!

Winter getaway

Me and my husband LOVED staying at Huron House. We felt they went above and beyond to make our stay special from beginning to end. We received 2 desserts each night, and a breakfast delivered to our door each morning. There was 3 choices for breakfast, each one sounded delicious and were homemade. We didn't get to choose our desserts each night, but they were phenomenal, so no complaints there. They were very accommodating to my husband's dairy intolerance. Sometimes dairy-free options aren't great, but Huron House made sure they tasted delicious for him! I loved that Huron House staff kept in contact with us via text message each day to communicate our breakfast choices and any other requests we had. I'm so glad we have a winter anniversary because there was hardly any people around as this is a summer beach town, so we got the privacy we desired. If you're coming at a time when there will be a lot of people around, I suggest the more private rooms in the building closest to the lake. Our room (Huron) and a few other rooms were accessible through the main lobby, so there is less feelings of privacy for that reason. It was still a great room with a large walk-in shower to fit 2, a separate toilet room, a gas fireplace, a large jacuzzi tub, microwave, mini-fridge, sitting area, romantic lighting, etc. It also has a great view of the lake and garden with a wide balcony to capture it all. The bed was sooo comfy and I slept better than I do at home. There are a few extra amenities they give you in your room that I will leave you to be surprised by! 10/10 would recommend the Huron House for a nice anniversary trip.

Perfect for winter anniversary trip

We had a wonderful weekend here at Huron House from check-in to check-out!  Beautiful dessert every night and a delicious breakfast every morning. Sitting in the hot tub with champagne and listening to the waves crash on the beach-I can get used to this. Thank you Huron House - we will be back❤️

Anniversary Winter Getaway

The Huron house is just AMAZING... its so pretty, gorgeous views, and the staff is accommodating.  So friendly and totally helps you and keeps in touch.   The Huron house is one of my favorite  Bed and Breakfasts...Last year I even got engaged at the House on the Beach. I  will ALWAYS have a special place for Huron  house

Huron house

We had an amazing time at Huron House for our 15 year wedding anniversary. Our room was very spacious and had an abundance of amenities to include a fireplace, jacuzzi tub and even a hot tub on the patio. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast every morning was incredible and the view was breathtaking. We hope to return again at some point. Highly recommend!
