One can easily discern which reviews for the Sky View are phake.  They tend to include excellent ratings across the board and have details down to the level of minutiae that only the owner would know.

We stayed here Labor Day Weekend 2015.  Motel descriptions on the 3rd-party booking site were not complete - there was no mention of the motel being 4:20-friendly.  Not disclosing that is a phaux-pas, considering that some customers are Soldiers (and therefore Phederal employees), subject to Phederal rules and regulations regarding patronizing such an establishment.  All other complaints from other reviews apply as well.  

Notably, the shower was spray-painted black.  You can still smell the phunky kerosene-like aroma from the spray-product, which was probably intended as a quick way to cover up any un-cleanable murder stains in the shower.  So we went to wal-mart and bought shower shoes lest we contract some strange phoot inphection.

Oh, and... not a phan of phish.  No musician, no matter how talented (or untalented in this case), should perphorm in a mumu.  It is not digniphied.  Spinal Tap were a more stately, gifted band than phish.

This is an older, single level motel.  Our room had been nicely updated and had interesting decor with art posters from bands and other tasteful touches.  It had a "cabiny" vibe with wood paneling and a vaulted ceiling.  We had a kitchen with stove, oven, sink, coffee pot, fridge, pots and pans, dishes, silverware.  Could have baked a cake from scratch if we'd been so inclined....would have just had to run to the store for ingredients.  Air conditioner was a window unit that worked great.  Bed was comfortable.  I appreciated the way the bathroom was set up....sink and large vanity were just off the bedroom/living area, while the bathtub/shower & toilet were in a separate room.  Room had queen bed, a console with drawers on which the flat screen TV perched.  Convenient shelving.  A small table and chairs at which we enjoyed having our meals.  There were patio chairs outside the rooms and we made use of them to sit and watch the crazy traffic go by.  The motel is located on the busy main drive in Pagosa Springs.  We didn't notice the road traffic sounds...but our room was not close to the road.  Pet friendly...but I didn't notice any pet odors in our room.  One drawer was a little wonky on the vanity...but worked & a drawer or two was missing a pull....but not a big deal to us.  The headboard on the bed was one of those that wants to swallow your pillows down between the bed and wall...why do they make them like that???  Owner was friendly.  Office area had games and other stuff that was probably provided for guests.  I liked this place and would stay here again.  Price for room was less than $80/night which we thought was reasonable for quality of the room and location.  It is about a few miles from the downtown area....a short drive away.

Our room was updated, very clean, had loads of amenities, and we enjoyed our stay.

Everything they say on their wesite isn't true except pet friendly.  Couldn't get ahold of anyone in the office by phone or in person after we paid.  Booked 2 beds, got 1 bed and futon with a rod in the middle.  Left after 1st night but couldn't get anyone to check us out.  Wish I had read more reviews.  Do your homework before checking into this place.

Truly an awful place.  Not even cheap at $83! Terrible value.  Room (#6) was hot as hell, no circulation, box fan would not reach window because only 2 elec. outlets in entire room. Screen on only one small window had holes, so room full of little flying insects all night.  Owners kept insisting a) room not hot. b) it would cool down at night. (How about 3 AM?) and c) room was not hot. d) motels in Colorado don't have A/C because it's not needed. ( we have lived in Colorado 40+ yrs and have never stayed in a motel without it.) and basically implying that we were a bunch of whiners. Well, there was plenty to whine about!  Carpet ancient and stained, walls paper thin, tiny room and tinier bathroom. Some attempt at cute decor, but please! how about some basic amenities?  I could have gotten a campsite for what this room was worth, which is about $20, and been more comfortable.  When we checked in I paid for 2 nights, then realized what a dump it was, cancelled the 2nd night and was not able to get a refund for the 2nd night, despite their "24 hour free cancellation policy" advertised on their website.  Owner said the payment had already been processed. There were any number of ways they could have made it right.  The fact that they refused seems dishonest and unethical to me. Will never go near this place again and urge others not to either. For only slightly more, you can find a great room almost anywhere else in town.  We went to the Hillside Inn on the 2nd night, had a spacious lovely cool room with a coffeepot, clock, pool, fabulous full breakfast all included for $25 more per night, worth every penny after our hellish nightmare at Skyview.

Could have been cast in the film 'No Country for Old Men.' I'm just glad nobody showed up with an air powered captive bolt pistol. 

If it were $20-$30 I couldn't complain, but @$90 I felt extremely ripped off. Super lame. I really don't know what they are thinking. Have the owners not stayed at other hotels in the world?

The place is very old and funky, the walls are thin, the parking lot is dirt. At least the sheets seemed to have been washed.
