Rooms are dated and the bed is hard as a rock.  I stay in hotels every night and this one by far is the most uncomfortable of the holiday inn chain.   How hard is it to put a box spring under the Matress?  Just putting a Matress on top of a hard platform isn't my idea of a good nights sleep. 
Will not stay here again.

Bugs infested roach. Clerk didn’t acted like it wasn’t a problem when I told him about it. We walk in the room there were two in the tub. My daughter woke up out of her sleep. With one on her face. She turn the light on they were everywhere. Don’t stay in Room 421. I have been a IHG member for years I have never seen anything like this infest in any other IHG property

It's a great hotel bed soft pillow soft clean I used to work their but they do have a messy girl  name Eric work their in lobby keep up to much mess thats why I quit really I like the job it some to do other than sitting around house but I want go back as long as she working their with her rough looking self she big and lazy she used to do house keeping half clean room with her nasty 🤢 self if zhe stay out of people business i hope she dont do that in the streets

Rooms are not impressive. Very dark and dated. Small tv and ancient microwave. Basic bed that was not extremely comfortable. We stayed there for a week on business. Forget ironing your clothes. Iron and ironing board were both shabby. But the worst thing for me happened in the breakfast area. My husband and I went down. Saw people eating so we walked up to the breakfast bar and started making our plates. I sat down, my husband was still getting food and a woman from the kitchen came out and said to us (across the whole sitting area) that breakfast doesn’t start for another 8 minutes. Then looked at our plates and said I guess it’s too late now. We had seen one other guest eating a hot plate and others eating cold food. It was embarrassing and I was fuming. I went to the front desk and the attendant told me to mention it on my survey that I’ll receive by email. On the way back to where I was sitting, I looked into the kitchen area and told the woman I thought the way she talked to us was very rude. She wanted to argue with me about cold food being available versus hot food is not and I just walked away. Shortly after I called and spoke to someone else. She said she had heard about it and that I was rude, made a scene, yelled at the cook and made her cry. And another guest confirmed this. It was a complete lie. And this person couldn’t imagine the cook treating us the way I explained. She said the cook also just recently lost her mother. As if that is a reason ti be rude to guests. She apologized but I could tell didn’t believe me. Said she would pass it onto the manager. Never heard anything from a manager. That evening we spoke to a woman up front who was really nice. She said she would pass it on to the manager. We have yet to hear from anyone. Holiday Inn Express, if breakfast doesn’t start until a certain time, put a sign out. How are guests supposed to know that even though the food is out, it isn’t available? And it was 6 minutes before the 6:30 breakfast time, not 8, if you want to get technical. Also, teach your employees how to talk to guests. I almost always stay at holiday inn express when traveling. They have always been consistent and provide what I need. I have never stayed in one that was so outdated and had terrible customer service. I will stay at others but will never stay here again. There is one right down the road in Jackson and another in flowood. No need to stay here. We were going to move to another one after the first night but my husband became sick so we sucked it up there. Never again.

I love staying at any Holiday Inn, but this was the worst. I had bugs in my room. I asked the front desk lady and she said oh that is normal this time of year. They moved me to another and it had bugs.

I travel a fair amount for work, probably 3-4 months a year.  My preference is to stay at Holliday Inns - even on personal trips.  Generally a fair price, decent facilities and staff is friendly and accommodating (free breakfast is a plus).   This was not the case at this location.  In a word, abysmal.  Checking in was struggle to understand the hotel clerk behind the wall-to- wall plexiglass shield and mask.  Mask was strategically placed below the nose.  It was then pulled down to cough into their hand and to slobber over a soda bottle.  Not a good look!  I'm not a germaphobe or COVID Cop in the least, but seriously,  at least utilize appropriate cough etiquette if your going to persist in the COVID plexiglass/masking shield regimen!  

The room, to be fair was clean. The road noise was obvious. The shower enclosure had a huge crack in it near the top of the shower rod.  

Breakfast was good and the woman putting the food out was very friendly, cheerfully wishing everyone good morning even though it was obvious that she was doing double duty serving food and watching front desk.  The juice machine and pancake maker was not ready or it was not working. 

Getting an invoice for my travel claim proved to somewhat of an odyssey which it did not need to be.  I'll not belabor the point but suffice it to say it was frustrating and customer service did nothing in the way of sending me along my way as a happy customer.   Especially being quickly dismissed and  hung up on when I was calling to request and follow up on getting a receipt.

Not up to brand standard

I stayed at this in 2018.  At that time we were on a cross country road trip staying at Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout the Southeast. At that time this was the nicest property.  That is no longer the case.

Our family of four spent one night in the hotel on our way to Florida. It is now a dump.  The linens in the fold out couch bag were dirty. The room smelled faintly of mold. The elevator to get up the room was dirty and the floor was cracked.  There were about 20 work trucks in the parking lot. It is clear this is a hotel for guys that work in the nearby plants.  I expect that sort of thing at a Super 8 or Motel 6 but not Holiday Inn. Just gross and dirty.  I didn't say anything to the staff because what could they do? This was beyond moving us to a different room. This was overall neglect for a couple of years.

2.5 Has gone down since Covid

The hotel accepted my meeting room booking. upon arrival the meeting room was not setup as promised. i had to go out of my way and purchase my own tables as well. The hotel had an extremely foul order. Our meeting room was not cleaned and several other issues occurred while we were there. When calling to speak with a manager in good faith i was countered back with extreme RUDENESS, INTERRUPTIONS, AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR SLEEPING ROOMS OR MEETING SPACE. i am contacting the corporate office and going as high up as i possibly can to make my complaint.

We spent 1 night at this property on our way to the gulf. We picked a Holiday Inn Express because typically they are consistent and conveniently located by the interstate. We had no dreams of Four Seasons style accommodations – we just wanted a simple, clean room. Traveling during the corona virus pandemic, we were pleased to see that the front desk had plexiglass barriers and the staff were wearing masks. In our room there was a note referencing the pandemic and the additional cleaning activities that were being used. However, the conditions of the room did not reflect even basic cleanliness. The pull out desk-top was sticky and filthy. I cleaned it with hot water and a washcloth from the bath and then sprayed it down with disinfectant. The bathroom mirror was spotted with what looked like tooth paste spit. When I turned on the wall mounted bed side light sconce, I could see the mounting brackets had thick dust on them – they had not been dusted within the last week – probably longer.

When I spoke of these issues with the desk clerk on check out – she did not even look up at me. When I was done, she looked up from the computer screen and said “I’m listening…” as if the issues I mentioned were insufficient to cause concern. My response was “Isn’t that enough?”. She reviewed our reservation and noted that we were reward program members and said, “I can give you 5,000 points”.  At no time did she apologize for the condition of the room, indicate she would share the information with management or give any indication that she cared at all.  When I mentioned that there was no coffee in the café at 8:30 am, she did react – so I guess they do have some standards.

We will never choose this property again

Filthy and Terrible Customer Service

Nothing to complain about with this HI Express. Large room but TV somewhat small compared to other locations/chains. Layout is functional but could use a bench or something to put a suitcase on. Since I typically only stay one night I don't unpack. 
The only place to put it was in the sitting chair.
