The location is great, quiet street in a neighborhood only 2 blocks from a grocery store. It's a nice old building. In the Rose Room we got a fridge and a microwave and a very large king size bed including a bathroom/shower. There was a kitchen downstairs that we used to heat up a more complicated dinner. Also down there was a comfortable living room plus dining room with cakes, cookies, and drinks. We had a relaxing time sitting on one of the outdoor tables for our dinner. There is even a soda machine out there if you need it. There was no check-in to speak of. The owner texted my cell phone telling me to enter at my leisure. That probably is not normal but I really liked the way that was done. The owner then made a very good breakfast next day, really satisfied with how it was done. And they were able to accommodate any dietary restrictions. If for whatever reason I needed to stay in this area for a week, I wouldn't hesitate to come here. I wish I could say if there was room noise between rooms, but nobody stayed near us so I can't comment on that. I will say the road noise was not bad at all even considering the house is close to a road and we are sensitive to it. Must be good windows.

The only major concern is there was a ton of ants crawling on the fridge in the room. If we killed them a bunch more would arrive in minutes, so there was obviously something going on there. They only were at the fridge, nowhere else, and for that reason we were not concerned with them. I would dock a star for this, but the fact that the entire place was so well done, I would rather not. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 9, not a 4 out of 5.

One serious flaw but still impressive

What a gorgeous place! Our room (the Willow) was beautifully appointed and the bed so comfortable. The are a few cozy nooks in the common areas to curl up with a book and a cup of coffee.  They have a small bar that stays open til 9:00 pm that serves seasonal craft cocktails and top shelf brands. Nice wine list, too. Nice selection of breakfast choices--there's something for everyone.The staff was so friendly, responsive, and well organized. Cute shops and restaurants you can walk to. I especially appreciated how clean the inn is. 

Cozy and Elegant Retreat

We were delighted to stay, again, at the White Birch Inn in Berwick, on a trip to see family.  We normally travel to Berwick in the winter and during this recent visit during a heat wave, we found the air conditioning to be a welcome comfort in the well-maintained room we had requested.  I always look forward to the treats waiting for us a the White Birch  and upon our arrival,  I was not disappointed by the muffins and banana bread.  We look forward to our next stay.  

Air Conditioning and Delicious Treats

We stayed in the Hydrangea Room at the White Birch B&B and the innkeeper, Roslyn, was very nice and welcoming. Before we even arrived, she communicated details about our room, breakfast for the next morning, and was very accommodating around dietary needs. The breakfasts were delicious and creative. The building and the rooms are quaint and small - if you're looking for spacious rooms and carefully curated & austere interior designing, you'd be better off in a regular hotel, but if you like a place with personality this is a great choice. We're already thinking about more reasons to visit the area so we can stay here again! 

Wonderful, quaint & delicious breakfast

My husband and I are on a week vacation with this being our first stop and it has been the best stay ever! We are in the sun room it is so clean and nice and cool to beat the heat and the bed is so comfortable! Check in was a breeze! Vary quiet area which I love! And the breakfast the absolutely amazing! Roslyn who is cooking has so much Passion for it and a great conversation! She makes the morning feel so energetic and i love it and she shares all the little things that are going on around for locals so you don't miss it if your interested!!! 5/5 service.

Amazing!!!!

- We first arrived to find a close door and no-one there to welcome us at the time that we were told to come to register. 
We called the number given and we were given the code for the door. As soon as we opened the door there was an awful, really pungent moth balls smell in that front room that was so overwhelming we had to leave the door opened to get some fresh air in.We went to our room and it was as bad. We opened all the windows in the bedroom and bathroom ( the whole weekend) but it was still bad. We went out just to stay away from that smell. 
- We had no way of controlling the AC it was coming on and off automatically. 
We were both wearing sweat pants and sweaters ( during August hottest days) it was so cold in that room. The opened windows were giving us a bit of warmth from outside.
- In the evening I wanted to make a hot tea to warm up but the bottled water on top of the machine was empty, I texted the person in charge to let them know, they said they would come to put a new one BUT never did.
- The breakfast was so full of fat and sugar I did not touch it. We were just given a plate of food without even been asked what we wanted, I would have been happy with toast and jam, I was given greasy eggs, thin looking pale burgers and overloaded of fat and sugar French toasts, it was awful. My husband said the coffee was very weak and left it in his cup. We just left.
On the positive side, excellent shower and good bed. We really wanted a good weekend away but that was not it, what a disappointment. 
- Also the neighbor was working in his garage until 9pm drilling and hammering until 9pm and the garage is just outside the bedroom window :(
- Everything was so old and very old fashion, even the magazines were from 2018.
I sent photos of the place to my friends in England, they asked me if I was in a 1940 movie set!

Never again!

Absolutely the worst B&B we've stayed at throughout the US & Canada. The inn wasn't very clean, the bed lumpy, the non-HD TV had limited channels, the shower was so small that I had to open the door so I could wash my feet, banging doors around 6 AM woke us, and the breakfast left a lot to be desired-the eggs and french toast were warm at best-at least the bacon was hot (assume the eggs & french toast sat around  waiting for the bacon to finish cooking). Outdoor furniture was limited and dirty.

Avoid this B&B!!

Had to stay overnight in Berwick after my wife had elbow surgery, booked a stay at the White Birch Inn and we're amazed at the beauty of this place! Great amenities, cosy room, huge comfy bed, and one of the best breakfasts we've ever had. Our host was warm and friendly and made the best coffee, hash browns and eggs I've ever eaten. Can't say enough good things about this place and looking forward to coming back for a romantic getaway some day!

Excellent B&B!!!

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 1st Anniversary and go hiking in Ricketts Glen. Everyone at the Inn made our stay truly wonderful with special custom surprises for us including rose petals, chilled wine, chocolate-covered strawberries, and even a decorated Anniversary cake! Thank you to Laura and Kristy for making our Anniversary celebration so special ;o)

Great Personalized Touch!

My boyfriend and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. The night we stayed we were able to see fireworks from the backyard. Would definitely visit again! The breast was delicious and everyone was so friendly.
